@BeNiShMcFly, yeah destroying the earth for profit is also a lie. Pollution is all a lie. There's no such thing as pollution. The oil spill in the gulph of Mexixo is a lie. Lies lies lies. Did I miss anything?

@regvarney Well, I just know one muslim in Sweden who polluted Stockholm with his bomb. But im sure all the cars and factorys contribute more to the global warming.
And he did die, so he wont pollute any more now. I wish all the upper class idiots driving in their jeep around big cities and travelling in private jets could kill themselfs also.
while i agree that fossil fuels, oil, and all that is damaging, i do not agree with the statement that renewable energy is a substitute for fossil fuels. I was part of a debate concerning nuclear power and i am sorry to say that renewable energy (though it is great) will never be enough to replace the energy supplied by nuclear power and fossil fuels.
best possible solution: use research and development to produce more efficient sources of energy rather than completely getting rid of it
@SIRxTxBONE well WTF do you suggest instead huh? give each of the crew a paddle or something? idiot....and besides they have modified the ship a-lot to conserve fossil fuel.
@mitchdebever no cars, no airplains, no bikes, no boats then? shall we gather all green people on a shore and be all passive then say ``hey, here are we, the people who fights for a better earth and environment``
I like how her whole part in making the environment a better place, and reducing our dependency on fossil fuels is by telling others that they need to be doing something about it...... Epic, I'm sold.
@mitchdebever do you really think that these people could do more good work if they bothered about using toxic paint or what fuel their boat runs on? these are small details, and these people are concerned with bringing greater awareness of the atrocities committed by these oil companies. are you so small minded to be seriously concerned by details like this?
Besides, the ship is designed to be environmentally low impact and efficient.
@kijbob They may not go on ``green gas`` they might not eat vegetables instead of meat. They are using cars they are using plains and boats and bikes. But they are FIGHTING, fighting for humanity to change so that humanity can change itself and change the way we live and do things today. They have hope, you don't. In ten years you can onely blame our self for how it looks then. Damn humanity for being so lazy and doing nothing while we make the soil to ash.
@kijbob Im sorry I dont agree, they achieved nothing in the end....mother nature beat them and they have contributed far more damage to the enviornment than I would have done with my 4x4. I cant back these guys who are against fossil fuels when they use them everyday with stunts like this. If they came up with a better solution then I might be sympathetic.
Im afraid they have scored a massive own goal with this failed stunt.
how i "love" ignorant and comments like yours... allege soo important environmental activism that they use oil to drive their actions... o hell... THAT attitude is a big problem. Try to see the bigger picture instead of searching little things to blame their actions [publicly!]... a complete shame.
I am environmentalists and say loud and with a clear conscience GOGOGO greenpeace! - use as much benzine you need damnit ! Every drop oil greenpeace uses is worth the good work.
@aerobique Do you think Greenpeace or the SSCS is cooler? I prefer SSCS.
Some types of activism cost a lot. their cost in resources and environmental damage is second only to the unfortunate misuse of well intentioned activists lives.
The risk of appeasing ones own conscience with empty actions instead of making a real difference, or raising public awareness in an accessible and influential manner is a real one.
It can make the difference between a better world, and a bunch of sad hippies.
@aerobique What about greenpeace protesting against LEGAL WHALING in Japan to get stupid people to pay them?
Yes this actually happens, greenpeace makes it seem Japan is doing stuff illegal, saying they sell meat on the open market while the law says they are only allowed to catch a certain amount of whales for scientific purposes.
HOWEVER THE TRUTH IS, the law says, for scientific reasons, they are allowed to sell the meat on the open market.
Responsible people dont care what "laws" e.g. the japanese corporation/government build around to keep e.g. this cruel rape "legal"..for "scientific reason". It´s a joke.
Dont get me wrong i understand your point....but whales are cool. People like you, fighting hardly against organisations like greenpeace with such crap arguments - are not. Period.
@aerobique The laws are not made by Japan, they are made by international organisations for the preservations of nature.
The law tells a limit of whales that are allowed to be caught, this limit is made so small compared to the total population, that it will have no inluence, the population will even expand this way.
Japan has never even exceeded HALF of the limit.
So wtf? Your talking about something you dont know anything about, and you say i got crap arguments?
@Harresd You do know that the whole point about the activists that were arrested in Japan is that they actually PROVED that part of the whale meat is not used for "scientific purposes", but instead embezzled by the ship crew, right?
And even if the law says they are allowed to sell it, does that mean I have to think that is RIGHT?
