I bought this laptop and can hardly bear to look at it, it's so beautiful. It sure makes for a Kodiak moment, and the over use of plastic is truely a pandamic... just look at the grizzly situation in the Pacific Gyre. It's beauty is perennial, and will give you wood every time you look at it.
K... I'm all out... but seriously, it's a great laptop outside and inside. Great job on the design. Hope the guys at Asus can keep growing ideas like this one.
@EmperorJEM Untreated bamboo can last 50+ years if left outside. There are plenty of 1000+ year old buildings built with treated bamboo. The bamboo will outlast the rest of the laptop and you. Plastic laptops will probably chip, fade, and break earlier too, though the plastic molecules will sit in the oceans for 1000s of years (killing wildlife who chance to eat it).
