Diana is not pissed because of all the hateful born-again christian stuff- you are reading it wrong... Diana is pissed because a being outside of her may have control, may be more powerful, and could show she may be fallible and not perfect, and this is pissing her off. She is not a Satan character - the Bible just annoys her - she is a Greek character.
My only criticism is that Elizabeth would have shown more compassion for the Priest when he was shot.Maybe she would not have rushed to his side (or maybe she would), but she would have shown more compassion for his attack, he was an old man who had shown her love and compassion... Diana had not gotten to her just yet.
good for her ! and the pope said he would love to baptise aliens what arrogance the vatican has ! like the church needs to infect other worlds with the same crap , i,m sure aliens wont take that crap lol
Hey guys. Jane Badler is performing in Sydney at The Basement Thursday 9th this week for her new album Tears Again. I bought my ticket and can't wait to go . You can get tix online at moshtix.com.au
@thenickstar14 Jane was also on Kerry Anne this morning performing "Did I Leave The House Today" and is on Spicks and Specks on ABC Wed night - June 8 :)
It hilarious to think this was broadcast on US TV back in the eighties, Diana murders a Catholic priest, and is observed doing it by a child! Its amazing what gets by the censors with science ficiton. Love this show, and Ms Badler!
@LaserBadler Hmmm... I'm wondering what you're basing that on. Television in the 80s and 70s might be pretty tame by today's standards, but it was hardly safe. Maybe you've forgotten what television was like then, but I certainly haven't.
it's interesting to hear so many people bash religion, always pointing at the negative...well there are a lot of caring people who take their religion seriously and have done much to help the world unlike some of you lazy ass critics.
it's called free speech. they have a right to speak their mind, and i have a right to speak mine. what? just because i believe in God, or read the Bible, i cannot get mad, i can't stand up for what i believe in. what is funny is, this scene is actually portraying religion in a positive light. it's showing how peace and tolerance is not for a ruthless person bent on total destruction of a species like Diana. but whatever..i was just a little peeved.
I don't think I need to mention all the wars, murders, rape and torture that took place over 2000 years thanks to your religion? At least Diana is not a hypocrite. You talk about free speech? then why your fellow christians have burned, hanged, etc people who speaking their mind? pfft. Free speech? tell that to the gays who can't marry thanks to narrow minded people like you.
Diana's interpretation of vulnerabilities refers to religious groups who manipulates people through vulnerabilities. they install fear in you then tell you how to lead your lives for their own ulterior motives
I'm not one for most organized religions, but most people share your view for at least one of the following reasons: 1. They haven't endeavored to read the Bible with understanding. 2. They let the bad example of those who profess to be "Christian" influence their attitude towards religion in general. Even Ghandi was moved to say "I love Christ, but I despise "Christians". 3. They fear CHANGE. If their life style doesn't agree with the laws and principles in the Scriptures,,,
Interesting quote from the author here...Whats more interesting is that your opinon and the evil, warped destructive character is the same...you keep good company with your Catholic bigotry!

Puh-lease! I share "Diana's" opinion of the bible - at least my contempt for it and how people hide behind it to serve their own agendas. I am not Catholic, and as a gay man I would not practise the religion if I was ... As for bigotry - I don't know what you're talking about lol
I am not sure if I understood this scene. Does Diana fear the priest might actually destroy the whole warmongering culture of the visitors on their home planet, if he ever got to preach the "salvation" of the Bible to the visitors?
Or does she realize her own ruthlessness is actually born from something that she lacks in life?
Either way I don't understand how she can see ancient superstition as a threat.
she is like many people in this world who puts on a mask to hide their weakness fears and suffering
they rather present themselves as ruthless in control of their life, confidence and strong to the outer world than to admit their weakness mistakes and of course, vulnerabilities

@LaserBadler Why are you so amazed by it? Just look at the violent shit that's on tv today and no one even blinks over it.

@MisterBlue24 Mmm, but TV during the eighties was very conservative and safe. Probably too safe. That's why I'm shocked.

insulting people you don't even know doesn't help your case. It gives atheists who like to bash religion another reason to do so.
