  • wow, pathetic. this dude needs to do a few cycles. i've seen girls at my gym do that much

  • No wonder he blows his knee out look at how his legs buckle out wen he squats.

  • o treinador é burro ou sou eu q não sei contar..??140kg??....são 12 anilhas de 6 kg o resultado final é 120kg.....essa barra não pesa 20kg nem na lua....kkkkkk

  • @ondasmaisque shogun rua is peruano .. not brasilerooo

  • @MisterLatin1 shut the fuck up !!!

  • He should defeat Jon jones no problem he's got Frank Castle training him

  • 160 kg x 6 no começo do ciclo... HAUHEUAHUEHUAHUE Bichinho é forte

  • I dont think shougun should do a lot of this move with such weights because of his knee injuries.

  • 345 pounds, about 160 kilos

  • does shogun only speak brazillian or he also speaks spanish cause i would like to learn brazillian at my school

  • @MrSpeedsta

    He speaks Brazilian Portuguese.

  • @MrSpeedsta Portuguese... not Brazilian

  • a gym that play APC? fucking awesome xD

  • I didnt knew Shogun was that Strong.

  • 140 kg squat 160 kg deadlift

  • he shouldn`t use biceps on deadlift...arms straight mauricio ! ;)

  • @thelovacluka thats a stagger grip you can actually lift heavier using that kind of grip

  • @francistsunami the grip is not the problem, its a mixed grip, it`s ok. but he flexes his arm a little bit...on the 3rd or 4th DL

  • Grande luta.

  • what weight was that? 130 kg squat & 150 kg deadlift?

  • @djdoomy about 310 pounds for squats and 330 pound deadlifts.

  • sweet balls

  • holy fuck did not know shogun was this strong

  • @sexysex72 i know sometime these guys look normal like BJ Penn I dont think he looks athletic at all but he be killing people

  • shogun ganhou

  • Me chupaaaaaaaaaa néh bixo ?

  • Comment removed

  • LYOTO! 3 x 2 Revanche? Se for afobado vai ser nocauteado! LYOTO! BELEM-PARA!

  • i wouldnt kick box machida if i was shogun.. but to put pressure corner him.. mix it up with punches and kicks from different angles.. and take downs gnp would be very good for shogun.. I pray for him and hope he brings the belt home! war shgoun

  • Agreed. Machida will run and hope that SHogun over commits. Advantage on the gound to Shogun. Would be smart for him to keep Machida guessing from all angles. Gonna be a closer fight than most people think. If Shogun comes in shape I give the advantage to him.

  • cant say machida is better than rua standing. rua is the most dangerous but machida will make it a boring fight standing and will frustrate rua by running but shogun is smart and his conditioning is better than ever in ufc. rua will win if by ground, and has a lot of possibilities of knockin machida out standing agree mma fans?

  • agree

  • machida will win first round.

  • lol u think so? wish we could bet, i have all my money on a guy who has proven to be a beast...how can u have trust on machida who has only beaten sorry fighters in the ufc. shogun has beaten the best...slayed

  • 160 KILOS deadlift, 140 KILOS squat

  • EH ISSO AI SHOGUN ...UDL E TORONTO BJJ

  • WoW! how much weight was that?

  • not much weight..those are light plates

  • 160 deadlift, 140 squat

  • 355lb - will arrive until the 485lb before the fight day

  • why is shogun risking himself with such injury workouts magnet, he could easily suffer a back injury lifting all that weight, maybe cardio and pads will help him more.

p.s. Shogun will win, as long as he takes machida down.

  • weightlifting is less dangerous than sparring if you do the right way

  • c´mon SHOGUN you´re gonna be the winner

  • Treina bastante vei, pq vai dar lyoto!!!

o karate dele é qse imbativel

  • dead lifting tehinque wrong can screw his back

  • I liked his workout video for chuck more than this. In that one they did weighted box jumps & other explosive stuff + alot of boxing. But yeah what do I know .. this is just one video. let's hope he comes in shape and ready to fight

  • To be fair, Lyoto is a massive LHW and I'm guessing Shogun wants to be able to grapple with more strentgh.

    War Shogun!

  • massive?

    i think not

  • he is still doing that this is just a strength day

  • Shogun....You should train your brain more than your muscles because you will need it. To beat Machida you need more than just muscles.

  • IS very funny to see how americans believe un all dana bullshit. What a few people now, is that a lot of people belived that he was the only one that could beat fedor.YES he might beat Lyoto. This video was uploaded in july, he was doing a training to gain strengh , now he is specific training.

Just to remind you fools, training like that he has already beat some of yours idols like quinton, liddel, randleman. and don't tell me that forest was better rua won the 1 and 2 he just ran out of gas.

  • What kind of training is that??

Training around woman and general public!

He suppost take this shit seriously!

    Thats not dedication!

He just wants to make easy money to pay for his medical bills and all surgeries hes had because he lacks calcium!

  • nice!!

  • so ta fazendo força... vai treinar teu mma pq o lioto quer tua cabeça irmao

    LYOTOOO MACHIDAAAAA

  • Can't underestimate Shogun. No way. He was a wrecking ball in Pride, and if he can find his way back to that level, he can beat anyone. If he comes into the fight focused and conditioned, Machida's in trouble.

  • looks like shogun is training those legs to kick lyoto's face off

  • Vamos Shogun!!!! fuerza desde Argentina!

  • Anderson Silva would beat Fedor Fedor

  • How much does his trainer say he lifts????

I need Spanish or Portugese translation...

  • 140 kilos???? I'm just figuring out basic knowledge of Spanish...

  • In Brazil we speak Portuguese

    140 kilos = 308 pounds

  • Sounds almost like Spanish. Obviously Shogun is Brazilian and speaks Portuguese.

140 kilos....not bad. Hopefully he can kick Lyoto with all that power.

  • 140 kilos, i think

  • then he said 160 kilos, then something like he would get to 220 at the end of the "day", im not sosure, but more or less

  • then 160, and he would get to 220 at the end, something like that more or less

  • 140 KG

  • 140 kilos said

  • Comment removed

  • shogun might not win....altho i think he has a good chance...i dont know why every1 thinks machidas so great caz he finally finished 2 opponents....people are forgetting machidas a boring fighter who went to decision with 6 not very good fighters in his first 6 ufc fights....not tkaing anything away...machida might win the fight, but itll be by decision

  • yeah machida is unbeaten and ktfo franklin and rashad but yeah is not that great

  • agreed on all points

  • His deadlift form is terrible.

I'm built like fucking Roli Delgado and I deadlift better than shogun.

  • Thats a lot of back there mister foreigner.

  • but he can still kick ur ass

  • It doesn't build weakness, he's training specific leg muscles (most likely) and NOT every muscle to prevent overtraining, which he has to be extremely careful about, or that will deny him training for weeks.

What you are suggesting by ridiculing his regiment is a powerlifting routine, where max workouts are shorter. He's not a powerlifter, so overtraining stabilizers is more than likely. Hence why he probably uses straps (just my guess though, not his actual reason.)

  • Karate will defeat Muay Thai when The Dragon rips Shogun to shreds.

  • "i've done powerlifting before"

You don't understand, he's NOT -I repeat- NOT a powerlifter, he's an MMA fighter. You don't train the same way while fighting as you do with bodybuilding. Bodybuilding has a very low tendancy of overtraining the muscles due to short workouts, while he still has to continually spar and use all muscles while training.

I can't speak for what his reasons are but comparing MMA training to powerlifting is stupid and he wins championships with this regiment.

  • APC :')

    heyyyy muay thai

Andre Neumann preparador fisico de Mauricio Shogun

  • vc é preparador do shogun?

  • perhaps he does grip work also and works on his deadlift muscles during the deadlift.

  • Comment removed

  • his strength trainer sucks

straps for deadlifts?...he's a damn fighter, he needs his grip work

  • It appears his knee is at optimum strength.

  • yeah, now he'll be all big and bulky, like a bodybuilder.

  • in order to have a good vertical for explosive power squats can assist you, as well as olympic lifts. gsp uses weights as do many fighters.

  • Yes, but when you want to do squats to get explosion you do jumping squats, not regular squats. Training slow gives you slow strenght. Training fast recruits fast twitch muscle fibers, and that's what you mostly need of a fight, especially if you fight Lyoto ' Elusive' Machida

  • There's no use being strong if you can't touch somebody

  • trustme shogun can "touch" anybody.

  • We'll see about that. Only chance I give him is on the ground. But how is he gonna get Lyoto on the ground? When Evans and Ortiz couldn't do it. I'll have to see that

  • I wish the UFC would allow stomps for this fight.

  • and soccer kicks.

  • @UpstandingCitzen not just for this fight but for every fight!

  • You know that by using straps, it places more emphasis on the muscles you are trying to workout and less on the stabilizing muscles.

  • he's an athlete, this type of training is stopping his body from working as a single unit, he needs to let go of the straps, he's not a bodybuilder
