Also, chicks were still wearing big hair and tons of make up as late as 1995. It takes a long time for a decades culture to wash away completely. I'm sure if someone had an agenda they could have found Disco shows to go see as late as 1984.

So were the Scorpions...who are now on their last tour as they have said it will be. Who else can I think of has metal or Hard rock who were still playing to arena's/large crowds?...Ozzy, Aerosmith, Iron Maiden, lots of bands I suppose...
