Interestingly enough, the coastal lagoons where P. wingei is found are also inhabited by P. reticulata, although they do not hybridise under there situations (although I am only reciting and do not know from experience). Also I am not denying that they will hybridise in aquariums, and should NOT be kept together under aquarium circumstances.
@TimeForBold It's likely that the males of either species will mate with the females of the other when not given another choice. My male guppy had no females and thus attemped to make with my dwarf livebearers(Heterandria formosa). But, they "can't" hybrid, and all he was really doing was being annoying. In a tank, when the instinct is urged, he might mate with anything that swims. o.o;
In 2001, i bought one pair of pure Endler for $12. They multiplied. Then I tried to get a strain of long finned Endler by introducing a single male. The genes from that male spread and I got all kinds of variations. Right now I isolated an albino variation and they are cool. Still the same size as the original parent, but cool colors. I have a 26 gallon planted tank in the high hundreds of them babies/adults. I 'm trying to sell the entire set up and fish.
Yes, what Nils typed is correct. But these fishes are also selectively bred to have many variations and colours. The original endlers are very pretty, thiugh, unlike the original guppies

To my knowledge, the Endler's guppy is a natural wildform and a own species, namly "Poecilia wingei" from Venezuela.
It can hybridize with the "normal" guppy (Poecilia reticulata), so they should not be kept in one tank together.
