actually its not late, if it was late then the plane would have left the ground far faster. It was actually right on time. Pilots dont jsut rotate too late. research before u post
you can almost feel the struggle of the plane as it tries to lift the weight. very brave cameraman i would have probably moveed at least a liitle bit, because that was to close for me. haha
Reminds me of an NTSB report I read about a Pan Am B747 at SFO back in '71...
Plane wasn't configured right for the length of runway (they were taking off from an intersection). They ran out of pavement fast. Plane took out the appoach lighting system, sending 20 foot long pieces of steel up into the fuelage and tail section. They dumped fuel, and landed. Plane was substantially damaged. Captain had like 10000 hrs flying time, too!
Whoever shot this should REALLY consider getting a police scanner & programming in the ATC/aircraft frequencies. Bet you would have heard some interesting chatter during this scene. :))
would u like to be kicked off your land cos the airport decides it want to make the runway longer? the take off performed is safe. by law, jet aircraft only have to be @ a height of 35 feet by the end of the runway in dry conditions, and 15 feet in the wet...this 747-200 achieved this comfortably.
I love this!! You can actually tell something about the distance of take off. look at the white blocks of paint in the middle of the take-off strip: the plane takes off just 5 or so short of the last one. NOW THAT IS REALLY CLOSE!
WTF.Maybe your being sarcastic I have no clue. Whatever. Like massey17 said its water from the Runway Kicking up as the Engines Spool up and Reach full power.
And it could probably do with a valve regrind too... it might not be getting enough compression.
Blowing that much smoke - well after they put in new piston rings, they should at the very least clean the sparking plugs as they tend to oil up and eventually stop working.
It's lucky I came here when I did, otherwise they could be in real trouble next time.
now if you started reading this dont stop its really scarey!ok send this to five other videos in 143 minutes. When you are done press F6 and your crushes name will apear on the screen in big letters this is weird because it does work.If you break this chance you wont have a crush in the next five years
Nowadays pilots, not so much smaller aircraft, but LArger aircraft, ignore most V1, Vr, V2 advice and use the whole runway, gives them a better climbout speed, and so they can climb out to altitude quicker. The pilot knows what hes doing
well, i am a real pilot, why are you not? I don't fly large passenger aircraft, simply cos im only 17 and just beginning my flight training. But my dad is a pilot for MyTravel, and he told me that in his A320, the best option, if conditions are ok. To use full runway length to increase the lift generated on rotation, by the increased airflow over the wings. So don't doubt an Airbus captaion mayte!
ya think that maybe since the guy was shooting this with his lens zoomed in all that way that it compressed all the objects together together in the hot and maybe it looked like he was running out of runway? ya think? YA THINK????
its a jumbo cargo holder, biger and heavier than 747, not an airbus. It doesn't have the Airbus framework and design...not even the usual engine they'd use for their models
Seen a few 747's go out of Bournemouth.. Never gets old!

A lot of birds, especially at 0:14 near the engines. Very dangerous.

It looked like a text book job to me.
That wasn't a late takeoff at all. I'd call it a max-performance takeoff based on his load and runway available.
NICE JOB and KUDO's to the crew.

Heavy plane, runway that barely meets the requirements, completely normal.

Hard to judge distance. Could just be the camera angle. All the steam is just from the water on the runway. Still a beautiful sight.

The jet plane has worn out engines so it can't get fast enough, quick enough...
You can tell it needs new piston rings, because of all the smoke it is blowing.
