looks delicious, just one but... that's not how you make the custard for portuguese tarts... it uses more egg yoks, no cream, potato starch, and milk.....
@LegendOfYoda Yes they are but in general, well balanced... leave the dessert for when you really are craving a sweet taste & keep an active pace during the day (and x3 - 30 min cardio during the week) & you'll should be fine...
And I forgot... The problem is almost always the size portion... & remember carbs and fat's calories are more readily available than protein calories... so depending on what you need choose wisely...
@blomgren182 i agree, he puts olive oil on almost everything he cooks :D and not only once, he does it again and again.. xD still love him and his recipes tho :)
@loufromlou in America its called arugala and baby arugala. There are a few differences in basic food names that I've discovered between America and the UK. Rocket was one, also double cream means heavy cream, coriander also means cilantro, courgettes are squash and eggplant I think etc etc.
Chow hound website “in a glass bowl- 2 cups heavy cream whisk in 2 tbls sour cream, leave on counter top overnight. Use pasteurized cream, not ultra-pasteurized, you could sub buttermilk instead of sour cream. Live bacteria in the sour cream or buttermilk, act as fermenting agents, they multiply & protect the cream. If it hasn't thickened leave on counter longer than 24 hours. But you do need to refrigerate for at least 4 hours before using".
This looks absolutely fabulous, but no way that it can be done in 30 minutes by anyone but a chef. When I read that some people were criticizing his 30 minutes meals for not being truly 30 minutes, I shrugged. However watching this video, I see what they mean. I suppose that if you made these recipes on a regular basis, you could eventually get it down to maybe 45 minutes. However this would take me more like 90 minutes, if not more.
Still, I wouldn't hesitate to try them, they look fab.
This is a great recipie, thanks for the upload, Jamie Oliver just makes u enthusiastic and really want to try what he does. I have cooked this once but it took a bit longer than 30 mins and I didn't have all the utensils. Have u ever tried to push puff pastry into a silicone tray, it don't work. Took forever. Always use metal. I also note for the caramel top he used a deep filled small pan not a non stick. I gotta get a griddle some time and see what diff that makes as well. Thumbs up!!!!!

Jamie's recipes are fantastic! They're quick, declicious and actually really healthy. He cooks everything from scratch. Perhaps if you're not an experienced cook, you might take longer, but with practice, you'll manage.
im doing the same exact meal right now except the sweet caramil thing.
the chicking has been in the oven for about 10 to 15 min, and it still didn't cock properly although i hav cocked them on the frying pan first and the oven is on 210 degree
Thank you so much for uploading these. I've watched them all and they are great! Don't suppose you have any of the others? Especially E17 which I saw on our tellie last week.
I've tried really really hard to like coriander (cilantro for Nth Americans amongst us) but I can't stand it!
I have been in Thailand and had the locals explain why it is such a main herb and yet still it left me gagging - that after-taste is awful.
Anyone else?
And before I am accused of being a fussy eater - not so. I eat and love every other vegetable and herb known to man, that's why I have tried to hard with coriander - not used to disliking something that is fresh and healthy.
@Sydneysider1310 It's just your palate, embrace it, love it & feed it whatever you really like.. I can't do large amounts of it either, cause for me it overpowers the other flavours... So bottom line, if you don't like it, don't use in your food... & if it is something someone else cooked give it a try, you may be surprised. If not, well...we still all have the right to not like something. ^.^
Don't read the recipies! Just watch this and make notes! I tried reading the channel 4 web sites and they muck it right up!! They don't mention the different chillies they tell you to put the peppersin with the chicken while chicken is cooking!? Maybe I need to get out more but hey good luck
