Actually the Renaissance is a little overrated. They discover a sense of depth and brought back the classical Greek style, but the Barroque art perfected that; furthermore, I believe the Dutch masters did more with their paintings as they raised the idea of depth along with contrast of light and shadow. Abstract painting is supposed to be left for interpretation, instead of focusing on your emotions, it focuses on your mind.
i love the pre raphaelites it's such a step up from manerism. and the wonderful poems and stories that go with them. the women have flowing hair and are in love, those stiff classical poses are all the same, just annoy and bore me.
this is such a joke! Anyone can throw some paint on a canvas...and they call them a genious! And who cares if the 4 year old or the parents paint it??? It's still the same painting.
where do you live, theres one in every major city, im pretty sure if you could afford the pc you are using you could afford the bus there.
trust me, it might seem boring but you can really enjoy it, i mean, you will get bored if you go there second or a third time since you already seen all the paintings but, its nice to see them just once
Look, I'm a K-12 state certified art teacher. If people take the time to look up what is called "the stages of artistic development" they will find that Marla is on par with other children her age, if not slightly behind in her development. Around her age children enjoy the kinetic nature of art making (pushing around paint) and begin early attempts at symbol making.
i say there is nothing that makes her different from any other child her age skill-wise. the thing that sets her apart is that she has a marketing team in her parents and dealer. just let her make art without greedy adults around her.
yes. if i gave my students nice canvas and more than the 45 minutes that public schools allow for art they could do the same. as i stated before, check out the artistic stages of development. i have 4-5 years olds who can make complex symbols, she's just moving paint.
where the director really fucked up this whole movie was by not getting into the psyches of the psycho parents, that's where the real story is. What was actually motivating them? Money? Fame> The horror of living in Binghampton? What?
No one actually PAYS attention to the colors: Theres a whole color SYSTEM not just red orange yellow green blue and purple. that's the whole point of this film, everyone thinks they can do it, this films trying to prove that shes a master at color theory (The ones with their heads up their asses don't even know what that is) but most people think that her dad paints the pictures for her
( Go Ahead Give Me a Negative Score, If You Do It Only proves that you don't know art )
Genius of the art form of painting? I'm that and the genius of the athletic exercise of tennis. I'm actually the first renaissance genius. Welcome to my school.
All 4 year olds could totally this. They're not indigo children, but they're about as close as their gonna get. I say, support your 4 year old (young child), instead of thinking of them as just children, and thinking that they can't do anything unless they go to school. School is mad up; our soul isn't. And our soul remembers things that can't possibly be conceived in this world. Imagine what could happen if we all just remembered!!!
It's actually true because all 4 year olds can still remember what they were surrounded by before they were born - or even conceived. She's not a genius, her parents just aren't oblivious to her talents, like most parents are. If all children were recognized and allowed to do what they could with their imagination... wow, I can't even imagine the impact.

that goes to show that abstract art means nothing compared to the artists of the Italian renissance. In my opinion, those are real artists.

I live in Kamloops, BC. The Closest "big city" is at least 4 hours away.
Oh, and no I can't afford it...I'm paying my way through school. I like how people just think that everyone can drop what they're doing to go places.

its just a kid wanting to paint not a master these parents look like the failed artists and just use the kid as a medium
