@datpimpinboy i think they dont do well in the US cuz of poor publicity and awful past. where i live we still have Montero and Montero Sport(discontinued in US) and are pretty nice and durable SUVs and people favor them.

my guessing is that because people on north america will opt for a gas guzzler such as ford expedition, those mitsubishi SUVs were discontinued. Where i live, american cars are seen as inefficient and the people who service those cars suck BIG TIME :/

@LordKevin92 Yeah bro, the thing is that in the early 2000s Mitsubishi got a hype for supposedly being "unreliable" so people stopped buying them, Plus Mitsubishi stopped making their best cars like the Eclipse GSX the 3000Gt etc. so a lot of their fan base moved on to Nissan or Honda.

@datpimpinboy where i live, people stick with japanese cars(especially toyota, nissan and mitsubishi), cuz of their overall reliability and they are pretty easy and cheap to fix..hondas are too expensive here for some reason, yet they are also durable... but when a part of a honda gets damaged, it costs a hell lot of money to get a new one :S just sharing some info :)

Montero is still sold in america... in LATIN America xD.. the newest generations is pretty awesome and durable.. the only thing i dont like is that to get decent power u have to get the diesel engine option, the gas engine sucks :/ well, the diesel engine is pretty decent, has a nice tone to it...its still a very good off-roader and very comfortable and nice quality SUV :) source: neighbor has one

I think some other user said that the lancer(and the evo) are inspired in rally cars, maybe thats the reason for the simple interior(which some people call shitty)..
