• My all time favorite movie ever. A classic.

  • This movie is so fantastic. I love Cary Grant and this is one of his best, if not the best. In my opinion, Classic Hollywood is so great because love trumped lust and movies didn't need to be flashy and gritty. Movies were much more meaningful, rather than showy and exciting like movies these days need to be to sell.

  • This ending is so nice, intelligent and hopeful, just rigjht for the Christmas time. The script is so cleverly written and delivered by two of the greatest stars in the history of American film. Big hurray to Cary and Deborah, or rather Nicky and Terry here. I am so happy that finally I was able to see the whole show for the first time in my life.

  • i wached this with my nan once and im not sceard to say i cried

  • I love this scene! When he enters the bedroom and sees the painting and then closes his eyes---well, the tears just flow for me.

  • @tosherification Can someone upload the whole film please

  • My favorite movie ever!

  • Impossibile non emozionarsi... e che mostri bravura!

  • People used to be smart back then. If you've seen the movie you'll understand what i mean. The movie was written to smart people. People didn't need a smart ass remark or a catch phrase or a sexy action hero or an astonishing decoration or graphics...they were already intelligent...they already read a lot.

The lines were written to address their souls and heart and imagination not their greed and sexual hunger. Now u watch a movie and you feel like buying something.

  • Wonderful! Thank you for posting!

  • I showed this movie to my husband. One of the handful of times I've seen him cry. Since then when I watch it he walks out of the room. Big baby!! 

  • It is my favorite film. I do not get tired to see it and I cry like an idiot whenever I see the final scene. In comparison with the first version I like plus this of Cary and Deborah since I see the reaction more natural than in the primitive version.

  • possibly one of the best acting jobs I have ever seen. They made it seem so real and heartfelt. Its just beautiful

  • It's on TV, if you've got cable. I don't, not all the channels. It was on the 23 of this month. Just go on locatetv.com and type in "An affair to remember" and click the "1957" (this movie)

  • Class beyond belief

  • @4:02 "Oops."

I love how he spends like ten minutes chastising her, putting her down, and just altogether making her feel bad, only to find out that she had been hit by a car and barely survived. @4:06 he has on his "Well now I feel like a jerk" face.

  • I cried like a baby at the end of this scene. P.S, I'm a guy. LOL

  • one of my old time favorites', the first time i saw this when i was 11 yr old to this dayi still love it ;

  • oh Lord!!! why i always cry when i see this ending??? TwT beautiful movie, great actors!!!!!!

  • "If you can paint, I can walk. Anything can happen." (bawling)

  • This is the best film of all time!!!!!! I love it!!!!! Thanks for sharing! ♥

  • i cried when i first saw it, i cried just now and i have cried all the times in between

and there have been many times. kerr and grant strike the best chemistry ever

and if all the tearjerkers were stacked one upon the other , this would be right

    on top.

  • Aside from the tears and all (which ALWAYS happens), I think the shot of him walking back into the living room at 4:19 is so sexy... I don't know but I've always found it so beautiful.

  • @GEVMM OMG YES! That scene, when all of that just hits him, the way he just walks back into the room just gives meaning to the word "SUAVE.' I always thought Cary Crant just had that suave look. And the way he looked in that suit? WOW.

  • how did the movie industry ever get away with not nominating cary grant for a oscar.

the last scene alone. there has never been an actor showing so much emotion on film. never.

  • Yes, darling yes yes....

  • I love it so much :')

  • This is probably the most wonderful film I have EVER seen. I get so emotional and flustered every time I watch it. These are two of the best actors there has been, or ever will be.

  • Just hearing the music starts me crying!!

  • I do not know how often I watched this movie , but believe me the moment he walks into her bedroom I start crying..... Oh my gosh , I realy do love this movie

  • Sinceridad,compenetracion,comprension,.... amor.

3:40 y la tierra se convirtió en el cielo.

  • my good lord

    it's the dearest

  • this is the film that actually made me watch movies...but only the great ones..it taught me to appreciate the greatest works of all time.....the GREATEST MOVIE in this time....

  • gets to me everytime I watch this tears flow

  • My favourite scene from this movie

  • Maravillosa escena ....magistral interpretacion de Grant and Kerr ....Happy Birthday Mrs Debora

  • i love this movie :D

  • this film is fantastic... is clean and romantic :D <3

  • My favorite scene. I get teary eyed whenever it gets to it.. Love love love (:

  • QUE PELÍCULA! QUE ACTORES!

  • beautiful

  • Beautiful, beautiful scene.

  • In this context I would like to pay the highest tribute to dear sis-in-law who passed-away , July 11th. Wherever she may be I sure am confident that she'll

appreciate this wonderful song which served as theme song on their courtship

stage. May she rest in peace. And a sincere thanks for posting this heart warming scene.

  • The moment he realises she is hurt is so so heartwrenching. I've seen the movie at least 20 times and I cry during this scene every single time - and just now!! WOW - amazing actors and story. xxx

  • The best ending scene of all time.

  • @misyespitelk I am in agreement with you. The glance of Terry enchants when it kisses the hand to him, notices all their love and its pain because it resigns to him.

  • que filmão! inesquecível.....................an affair to remember

    e eu choro sempre!!! sempre!

  • I've watched this so many times, and I wonder why they don't kiss at the end. He went for it, and then the hug. It's a beautiful moment, though.

  • This is one of my all time favorites....I cry everytime I watch. Deborah Kerr and Cary Grant made a beautiful onscreen couple in every movie they did together!!

  • I love this ending. It's the most beautiful thing.

  • At 2:47 when he kisses her hand.... that's when I start to loose it.

  • Wonderful scene. Cried my eyes out. Again.

  • Gets me everytime..... so beautiful x

  • i have always loved this version. Cary is so mad at the beginning of the scene and then too see him clue in to the situation and the pain on his face when he sees the painting. I never stop crying even though I must have seen this a dozen times over the years.

  • When sees his painting and makes the connection is what guts me.

  • 215 yes votes and over 85 thousand times watched. I think some of us have been here more than once. Thanks for the upload and for leaving the video in place.

  • Whenever I watch this film the last few minutes where he opens the door and looks into her room and sees the painting on the wall then realises the truth and goes to her gets me going all the time...... beautiful film....

  • I love that there is not a single dislike.

  • @MsRaeRae90 Because only women watch this.

  • just finished watching the 1994 Warren Beatty version... i cried watching it... and i thought i wont cry in this one... i was wrong! *sniff sniff

  • just finished watching the 1994 Warren Beatty version... i cried watching that... and i thought i would not cry in this one... darn! i was wrong! *sniff sniff

  • How come this is not achieved in present cinema ?

Titanic was a dud compared to this !

  • Why DO I punish myself watching this movie Even watching the final scene I'm a wreck As soon as the music starts I've gone and then when Cary presumably sees the wheelchair I really lose it and the tears turn into a torrent Deborah Kerr was simply beautiful and superb but Cary Grant was quite incomparable Totally out on his own and beyond the reach of any other star as easily the greatest and most hadsome actor in movie history.

  • @26kerysa the man who worked at selling nikis paintings asked if he'd give it to a woman In a wheelchair because she loved it and had no money. Nikki never saw who it was but when he was talking to her he realized that she hadn't moved over for him to sit or gotten up and then he Just wondered who else would have wanted the picture so that's y he looked and saw the painting

  • 4:08 is when I REALLY lose it! See? I'm crying right now!

  • she said "if u can paint I can walk" sounds like an insult hehehe.

  • I never understood .....how did he realize she couldn't walk?

  • @26karysa *I think* he gave her the painting. He didn't know the lady that he gave the painting to was her, and he gave it to her because she had no money and couldn't walk. When he was talking about it, he realized it was her and went into the room. When he went into the room he saw the painting of her and he then knew she was the lady who he gave it to. He also then knew that she couldn't walk. I'm not so sure, I never watched the full movie.

  • shucks!!! i've gotten goosebumps!!!

  • @amirtoma Hi Deborah was Scotish.

  • Deborah Kerr is Scottish. Indeed a beautiful well crafted film. Deborah reminds me of the late Princess Diana. Both actors show a sensitivity that is so touching. Cary is amazing and Deborah is the perfect girl for him. He was 53 when he made this movie and she was 36, Damn ,he looked good enought to eat.

  • Interestingly, Irene Dunne (who starred in "Love Affair") and Cary Grant (who stars here in the remake 28 years later) were often co-stars in romantic films at RKO. Also, Deborah Kerr not only followed Miss Dunne as Terry here, but also in the role of Anna in "The King and I." Irene Dunne had originated that part eight years earlier in the nonmusical version, "Anna and the King of Siam." Both were 20th Century-Fox films.

  • WAAAAAHHHHHHHH UHHHHH AHHHHH WAAAAAHHHHH awwww WWAAAHHH

  • it's just so...beautiful.

  • Hollywood.....at its finest.

  • I like the 1994 version with Warren Beaty and Annette Benning and of course a stellar and last movie performance by Catherine Hepburn.

  • @dcruz409 The original version was 1939's "Love Affair", an RKO Radio Picture that starred Charles Boyer and Irene Dunne (not Katherine Hepburn). The original story was by Leo McCarey and Mildred Cram and both films were directed by Leo McCarey. In a day and age where the Hollywood backlot and soundstage really flourished, "Love Affair" was ahead of its time; it was filmed almost entirely on location in New York City.

  • So I just watched Sleepless in Seattle...and I wanted to check this movie out cuz i've never seen it. I can't find the full movie on YT, so this is the closest, and I cried...and i didn't even see the whole thing...

  • So I decided to look at the ending again and for at least the twenty-fifth time in a row, I cried again...

  • I never get tired of watching this film. I love the expression on her face when she catches sight of Cary Grant's fiancee as the ship docks. When I first saw it back in the 60s, it could be a false memory, but I seem to remember an extra scene where Deborah Kerr went to the art gallery in her wheelchair to look at his work, just missing Cary Grant who left by another exit. The only remnant of it is when he talks about it in this final scene.

  • la mejor película de toooooodos los tiempos

  • I've seen this film nth time but I still cry. I really love this film because of the story and of Cary Grant.

  • Oh I'm pathetic I've seen this film so many times but I still cry every time they don't make films like this anymore probably because most of the actors/actresses that "act" in films nowadays just aren't in the same league (with a few exceptions of course) love Deborah Kerr she's amazing

  • Can't. Stop. Crying.

  • I am in tears about this movie...in tears I said!!! The women and men of this day and age need lessons from their time..I take notes all the time!!! Love Deborah Kerr and Cary Grant...tears...

  • cuando la vi por primera vez, me enamoré de esta película. Es y será mi favorita, Me encanta.

    César

  • and i believe they live happily ever after.

  • I cry ever time I see this - the BEST of the 3 makings of this movie, and this was a sensational movie. Thx for posting it

  • This is the most romantic movie in terms of love affair! I could bet everything for this!

  • Pure 100% class!

  • It never gets any less beautiful, even after you've seen it for the hundredth time...

  • so beatiful

  • Why can't they make movies like this anymore?

  • You could just see it in Cary Grant's face when everything clicked into place.

  • First class film, both Kerr and Grant were superb. They just don't do romance like this anymore. Has there ever been a man in film with a face like that? He was one in a million, there will never be a film actor like Cary Grant.

  • First class film, both Kerr and Grant were superb. They just don't do romance like this anymore.

  • It's depressing, it makes you cry, it makes you sad, it's just an old soppy romantic film & Cary Grants in it... 5 reasons why I love it,

  • I told myself that I wouldn't cry whilst watching this again... but no --- still cried!!! :')

  • My all time favorite movie. Never get tired watching it. It's a classic.

  • This is the best version of all 3 or 4 of them. Deborah Kerr's and Carry Grant's performances were just splendid and graceful! ... Why can't Hollywood make more movies like this these days?! Wish movie styles can at least change cycles like the fashion world - back to some of those graceful and beautiful ones every once a while, at least.

  • This is the best version of the 3 Love all of them too-from Lorna Dunne to Annette Benning. Same part everytime that makes me cry a river.

  • i so desperatly want to see this movie.

  • Wish they'd made more movies like these today..

  • I don't think there are nearly enough Nicki's on this planet.

  • I always cry at the end of this film! :( such a beautiful scene

  • This scene with the background song, and Nickie's expression when he sees the painting, It's such a heartbreaking scene; it always makes me cry

  • I could cry just thinking about this film.

  • TEARJERKER!! wheres the kleenex.

okay, guys, you want a woman ? look at Cary's face in the last shot. you look at a woman like that, you got her.

  • one of the most romantic movies ever! ★★★★★

  • My sister told me about this old movie she watched on cable television, and I had never heard of it before. Here's the dramatic happy ending she described to me on the phone. My face was a mess of tears. I will remember today and this video! Does love like this even exist today?

  • @shalimarsgirl I thought it did, for a very brief moment, then I realized I was wrong. Times have surely changed

  • @jazzinnature081 Yes, times have changed in many ways. They didn't have cell phones in those days.

  • @shalimarsgirl nor speed dating....lol. that was a time when love was LOVE, a man was a man and a woman was a woman

  • @jazzinnature081 Yes...but in our hearts, that world still exists.

  • @UmGahWah Yes, but it's getting harder to find another person who feels the same way about the sacredness of good old fashioned love.

  • @jazzinnature081 Yes...I suppose I am the hopeless romantic that refuses to admit that the "bud of romance" is so fleeting...in fact, it is. I suppose that is just one reason this Love so 'sacred'....

  • @UmGahWah Life used to be a lot simpler, too. Too many things have gotten in the way, we don't know who we are anymore, what our roles are, things are just too complex, society spinning out of control, and "sacred love" is just not realistic nor is it even taken seriously. But I will die searching for and believing in it, no matter what. :0/

  • @jazzinnature081 Beautifully stated my friend...and you are not alone...now, let's you and I fix some popcorn and watch "Gone with the Wind"!!! LOL! I see that I am not the only ' hopeless romantic', yes? :) See you..

  • @UmGahWah LOL, ok. You bring the popcorn and I'll bring the late show-"Love Is A Many Splendored Thing".

  • @jazzinnature081 Ha! Ok...you've got a deal! Lol!

  • @jazzinnature081 I blame (in part) a certain Joni Mitchell for...these sentiments of love and romance that we hold so dearly...she is a poet/songwriter/artist/swooner all rolled into one amalgam of genius and humanity....I remember seeing her in Chicago (99'?) and she was so reserved and quiet on stage until she faced the audience...and that magical persona of hers (like the next door neighbor that you really love and respect) just shined and came forth...It was quite an evening.

  • @shalimarsgirl Good question. lol. If you ever find out let me know!

  • I totally agree with all these comments I always cry for these great movies like for gone with the wind duel in the sun , u kno -3

  • I love Cary Grant!!!! Swoon worthy!!!

This movie always makes me cry, especially this scene! Great ending!!!

Movies are just not like this anymore...there are no real leading men like before! What happened to the Humphrey Bogart's, Clark Gable's and Cary Grant's?!?! Thank God for DVD releases and my dad for introducing me to real, wonderful movies!!!!

  • I love Cary Grant!!! This is one of the best movies ever. It makes me cry every time.

  • hahahahaha... nice.... an original and its making is the hindi movie MANN... the same storyline but with a twist and more emotion......

  • The great films of yesterday are gone forever. I hate to know films like these are not made anymore. What has happened to the movie world of today?. I love to watch these when I get a chance to see them. I have bought a lot of DVD of these old movies and hope someday my children and grandchildren will watch them and see how movies use to be! Vivian

  • Probably the greatest final scenes & best 'lines' ever! I dare *anyone* to hear

Cary Grant say "if it had to happen to one of us - why did it have to be you?"

along with the theme song building to a crescendo - & not feel a tear escape!

Toss-up with Rachmaninoff's theme for "Somewhere In Time" (my absolute

fave) with Jane Seymour & Christopher Reeve!

Note to Hollywood: We need more movies like this !

  • Crap like Milk and The Reader getting Oscars while gems like this are thought of corny and silly...Sean Penn and Kate Winslet getting Oscars for celebrating homosexuality, pedophilia, and promiscuity while people go "HAA??" when the names Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr are mentioned today... Today, only few people with taste, modesty, and decency are entertained by these glittering gems of the past. The rest, if there's no nudity, sex, and blood, then nothing.

    Hollywood

    1927-1970

    R.I.P.

  • Nunca dejare de ver esta pelìcula, asi como nunca dejare de llorar, eso es amor verdadero, que ni el tiempo puede cambiarlo, o hacer olvidarlo.

  • The America that begat great films like this is long gone. I cry over the dead body of the Old Republic. Murdered by an elite consensus that took decades to carry out. The formaldehyde of corrupt finance and consumerism has drained out and we now smell the awful stench of a failed nation, roiling with foul creatures who profit from America's decomposition. In fear and denial, we reach back to grasp the times that gave us these movies. Films like this will be meaningless to tomorrow's barbarians

  • I can barely see the screen I cry so much....

  • I always get the chills when the music comes around, at 4:00

  • I have howled so much.

a dreamlike film, cannot better go it at all any more.

there was never again a better one.

  • is one of the best, for all us, who loves the dreams of love, maybe we waiting for all the time for someone like us, remember and make us our affairs, thanks

  • "dont cry darling, if you can paint i can walk! anything can happen!" tears. down my face. gets me every time.

im always fine up to that line then bam! im sobbing into jareds shoulder. all he does is roll his eyes and give me a one armed hug. gay bffs are the best LOL only he would tolerate watchin this movie once a month :D shout out to jared!

  • I love this movie, and especially the ending scene. So much emotion, and especially lots of love between the two characters. Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr were at their peaks in this film. Everything about this movie was almost perfect. I always get teary eyed watching it. Thanks for posting.

  • I ♥ this film!

  • I love it!!!!!!

  • it always makes me cry..damm!

  • me too... sacrebleu !!!

  • @prettyasian888 Me too!!!

  • @prettyasian888 I am in the wheelchair he walked away because I needed a major operation my x-fiancee knew about after a 4 and a half year engagement appears he can ask questions but doesnt allow me to life is funny isn't it

  • @prettyasian888 Even if you watch it only at the ending, you will cry. I tried it as an experiment, considering that I have watched it more than 5 years ago, i think. Everytime you watched it you will always cry. Even if you have no experience at love, even if you are not a hopeless romantic. Good its already posted in the You-tube. I'll watch it completely and test myself again. Thanks for posting. Its a good treat at this day and age and all that climate change and tsunami around.

  • just watched this haing seen the movie so many times and still cried my eyes out lol. Excellent movie!

  • OMG! so good! i tried not to cry and it was hopeless!

  • Movies like these put today's "blockbusters" to shame.

  • Never has there been a movie scene more touching than this one.

  • One of my favorite parts of the movie - so full of love, mystery and truth... Waiting for the right moment - this man - is charming, gorgeous and a delight to watch, in any movie.

The part where she opens her gift - brings tears to my eyes every time i watch it...

    Thanks for posting...

  • I love how the shot when he walks into her room focuses on his face - it's so full of emotion. What a great actor and a perfect scene. Swoon!

  • This movie always makes me laugh because it ends so abruptly.

Tears to Laughter in less then a minute.

  • So Dramatic, but so good. :)

  • People love this scene for its sentimentality. I find it a textbook, classical example of great Hollywood and what today's films lack. The focus on dialogue and the camera-work where we see the painting in a mirror's reflection but never really see the room itself and know EXACTLY what he sees. and his thoughts based on his facial expression.

  • Beautiful movie. It's such a sweet movie, I cry everytime I watch it. It's so romantic.

Cary Grant is a very attractive man.

  • Amazing.....that's all there is to it. Simply amazing
