I think the fox is rather looking wistfully, with some hope for the world as it exists, but with not much premise as to suggest that we will remain, thereby questioning the essence of life as a whole.
This animal is attempting to establish a connection with a satellite so it's owner can view free DirectTV programming (If you prefer Dish Network please acquire an animal with larger ears.)
I hope you don't live in a street - that would be hell for animals with ears that sensitive. The constant noise in a town surely would drive them nuts.
Are these animals bred or captured wild? (It's hard to imagine they're comfortable as pets.) I think I have to go wiki "fennec" and find out more - very engaging little creatures. Thanks for posting.
They're bred in captivity. They're illegal in many parts of the US. The reason why this species is chosen as a pet is because it lives in family groups in the wild, and unlike the red fox, which has been bred in captivity and even domesticated, it doesn't smell awful. Red foxes have an active "violet" or precaudal gland that makes a nasty odor.
Thanks, Retrieverman. They are very beautiful - a pity for them, the cuteness factor that makes children want them instead of a domesticated dog. Even captive-bred, they seem really too alert & active to be happy as pets: probably the acid test is, if they escape, do they come back. I appreciate that you care a lot though, and give yours as much freedom & activity as possible in the circumstances.
It'd be great to see these animals in the wild, but I live in the wrong part of the world.
My, what big ears you got!

Maybe I ought to look this up, but are fennecs the smallest fox species? I'd love to see what their cubs look like. ^^
