Ive just rediscovered alot of 80s music which I never thought I would hear again. This song is from their 1st and greatest album, they never made another one like it which is part of its appeal nearly 30 years on. In The Garden is the one true cult album they made. Sweet Dreams and Savage are not for behind in terms of greatness. Thanks for putting this up.
One of my favorite songs from In the garden album. I´ve got a great Eurythmics fan and I think that In the garden is it their best all of time. Why Annie and Dave still don´t talk about their debut, still close their eyes about In the garden? And a great ignorance of publishing. For example I think that the other artists are prouded of self debut album, but Eurythmics not. WHY??? What´s happened? Their broken relationship, or Dave´s ill? Or not...
I'm not sure why they don't discuss it more often than they would their later works. It's only a guess but I think it may have to do with how different In the Garden sounds when compared to a lot of their subsequent releases that found more popularity.
@mergetraff I don't doubt it, I've just found that in comparison to their other more popular/well recognized work, it doesn't get discussed as often as it could.
this album wasn't bread and butter - it didn't do to well in the charts, but it is them in the raw, and I think it shows those wacky kids in the 80's experimenting with tapping bottles and such like to create a unique sound...i think they achieved it well and should be proud!! It certainly rocked my world when i was 11. i'm only 13 and three quarters now, but hey...life is prrreeetttty good in my world....sssshhhh i;ve had a few beer.

Thank you! One of the most important songs in the history of Industrial music. Indeed, one of the most overlooked songs. I've asked Eurythmic "fans" if they've heard of "In The Garden" and they look at me blankly. Thanks for posting!
