  • I like the late 80's sound. They remind me of Loop.

  • wicked vid!!!! rely well done.

  • I saw them live two months ago and they were great!, they rock!...they sound even better live.

  • just listen to the song and decide for yourself

  • If I like Muse, will I like The Secret Machines?

  • i do so i guess you will too

    =)

  • think for your self

  • Good song, but not a distinct enough sound for my taste. Like Interpol mixed with Wilco. I'll try some other songs.

  • I liked this.

  • these guys are pretty cool...but, if you're looking for something that really cooks..check

    out the RACONTEURS !!!

  • yeah! the raconteurs are so good! i love them, like this band!!

  • One of my favourite video clips of all time.

  • I missed when Ben was still in the band =/ I got to meet them before they split. And I also went to the concert that was hosted by david bowie

  • Yeah, it's hard to let Ben go, but let's embrace his new band, The School of Seven Bells, and consider ourselves lucky to have 2 bands to love <3

Yes, it was simpatico, but it will be cool. maybe the 2 bands will play a double bill.

  • They sound a lot like Guster, but not so much when the vocals dip in pitch, which by the way sounds splendid.

  • Is anyone else besides me totally haunted by Secret Machines songs 24/7 ?

  • I saw them on Letterman a while ago, and I'm still obsessed with this song. Neat video.

  • FUCKING LOVE THIS SONG!

  • This video perfectly captures being at a secret machines gig. Music often in he background dispite them on stage, easy to get distracted by people walking about though the meagre crowd, then going for a wander. This the only song I remember, though not bad.

  • I totaly agree with you

  • you missed out then

  • I found myself waiting for the song to kick in.. but it never did :(

  • Holy Jesus.

I've been trying for, like, 3 days.

  • I just saw them with Coheed and I enjoyed it.

  • I just saw them with Coheed as well and they still sucked

  • The drummer has been called "John Bonham's ghost" dickhead.Grade 4?

  • I like the late 80's sound. They remind me of Loop.

  • many superior bands going to pemberton to stop and watch this

  • lol i first heard this song on XM radio channel 48 and just fell in love with it

  • probably one of the greatest music videos ever made

  • Sigh.. They sure did not belong at Sled Island this year ( although not being one of their fans, they might be good on cd.) For one thing they were ridiculously boring live, playing the same riff time after time again with ridiculously terrible drumming. Every song seemed the same and the set lasted far too long. The whole crowd got lost and I saw tons of festival-goers turn to their books. As an added bonus I know people who drummed better in grade 4. If Calgarian, input please

  • We understand!!! if you dont like them...then you don't hear them...that's all

  • It's cool, I was a bit strong with my opinion there, they're just not good in my point of view, although I know many people see it differently

  • honestly, i think they're a band you have to focus on, i saw them last night, and there were moments(and i'm a big fan) when i though, man, they've been jamming for quite a while, but then i realized that they would just do these big buildups and if you give in to it, then it ends up being very exciting. I think Josh is a great drummer, he doesn't play any really complicated beats, but he keeps time really well, and it fits the other two's sound. i loved it.

  • yeah the drummers great, really powerful and super tight

  • But he's not, as he's been called, "Bonham's Ghost"

  • ha i can see their show like that. i'm seeing them for the first time at pemberton next week. their cd sounds identical to your description

  • the club in this vid looks like the Galaxy Club in Dallas & reminds me of when brandon & ben were in UFOFU & they played there. it was a kick ass set! small venues r better for punk/grunge bands to play.

  • it looks like Frank from Donnie Darko

  • Ghaha, he really does.

  • lmao he does haha

  • this is my song for me and my bf. i love secret machines!!!!!!

  • Great song, there an odd band though....live there not as good as they are on cd

  • behave yourself!! there brilliant live!!!

  • They were great when I saw them. They opened for Interpol and kicked their arse.

  • cool,i saw them supporting interpol as well funny enough and saw them at reading festival

  • I saw them at a much smaller venue. It's hard to translate a show from club setting with a stadium or festival. The back lighting and sound seemed like overkill and at the time. My expectations were low because I didn't know who they were at the time.

  • this song is fucking great.

    weel it like me!!!!

  • wolf like me

  • Awesome clip! @_@

  • wow.. nice crew team hor, wah!!! hw many ppl conrtol moving head?

  • were they moshing to the secret machines?

  • lol...thats what i was wondering....

  • Love this song!

  • Very stylish video and one of the catchiest pop tune from Secret Machines

  • naaaa naaaa, not like that, they're very good

  • What station do you listen to?

I want to put it in my presets

  • blah blah, go mainstream...

I'd respect you more if you were looking back

  • secret machines. best band ever. i love the meaning to there music. did u no the bass and electric guitar player r brothers

  • This is also their most "poppy" song... I respect their other material more. They definitely arent the sort of band that writes songs the way the record company tells them to;

  • they write long songs-the first commercial no no, and they have production prowess...meaning they know where its at in the studio and they are adept at realizing preconceived musical visions. As for the Floyd comparison...i agree just don't bother. They're different bands from different eras that write songs with vastly different subject matters.

  • I guess they are sort of like the pink floyd of indie... but otherwise, the only similarity i see is that both bands use the studio itself as an instrument. I love this band's music for the most part and i dont think they deserve to be thrown in with radio rock. Believe me, cryingmelodies... i hate the radio. I respect the guitar work because its really not just power chords..

  • it's swells and controlled feedback arpeggios, harmonies...(check out the chordal movements in "1000 seconds") powerful! Granted, the guy won't be playing anything like the achingly beautiful "comfortably numb" solo ever.

  • sure these guys are no pink floyd....but who is??

nobody can ever be as influential to a musical genre then those guys were but these guys have talent no doubt about it they write some amazing songs

  • I dont't think secret machines does not like to be compare to pink floyd.

  • i think these guys are really overrated sometimes. no doubt they have talent and can write good songs, but i would never go as far as saying that they are one of the greatest bands of all time and that they're comparable to pink floyd.

  • I had to listen to this song a few times to start liking it. Now its one of my favorite songs.

  • I love this song, furthermore i love thos band!!!!

  • Dare I say this, but I grew up listening and once saw Pink Floys live. This band my dear friends IS THE NEXT PINK FLOYD! Perhaps even bigger. I love these guys and have seen them live every chance I get.

  • as much as i love the secret machines i dare not say they will be as big as pink floyd... not anywhere near in fact... i guess i did not grew up listening to pink floyd... having said that, i LOVE THE SECRET MACHINES, and i can't believe i missed them when they came to argentina... i live there btw

  • They don't even really sound like Pink Floyd other than being kind of airy pop. Good tune though.

  • i am in this video with a couple of my friends. was shot in brooklyn. the band was really cool. good music.

  • This is great! =) Love Secret Machines! =) Please check out my bands videos too =)

  • It may be premature but I believe you are viewing 1 of the greatest bands of all time

  • Wow, this is a really amazing video. And great song! :)

  • If you don't like it, you're not really watching. Notice there were only 6 consecutive camera shots throughout? Most music videos have easily over 100 cuts. Well thought out, perfectly choreographed, brilliantly executed concept. Audio is always from camera perspective, (backstage, onstage or outside) rather than the typical generic playback. Camera moves on & offstage as if it were floating. Brilliant. Genius. Displays the art of both band and director/cinematographer.

  • Shots that last over ten seconds are almost never found in films and especially music videos. Patrick Daughters is perhaps one of the best mv directors today, along with Michel Gondry and Floria Sigmondi.

  • Really great young band, brilliantly balanced music, but what a sad, dull vid! Shame!

  • One of the best bands out there today

  • This is an incredibly well put together song, it should have been so much more successful. And the girl in the video is very hot.

  • Son muy pro los secret machines lso vi en vivo y me parecieron exelentes

  • I would say brian eno (not U2) with black sabath...uops!

  • Nothing compares to that bass drum live

  • U2? Coldplay?

No, they sound like The Secret Machines.

And that is just fine with me- they rock!

  • Coldplay & U2?

    :P

  • More like stereophonics,..

  • Wow... it's very good good soound.

    Remember me to Coldplay

  • Excuse me? I love Coldplay but I really don't see the link between them.

  • The most underrated band of all time.

  • its a tune

  • What an amazing video.

  • Damn, I've missed them the past 2 years.

  • awesome

  • Every indy concert I've ever been to. I've never seen a music video capture what its like to be in the audience so well. Love the fading in and out of the music...

  • Does anybody know where this was shot and who directed it?

  • I don't know where it was shot, but I do know that Patrick Daughters directed it.

  • It was shot at Warsaw in Brooklyn, I'll find out who directed it.

  • Who directed it?? I'd love to know.

  • Patrick Daughters

  • i love that song! :)
