i am glad with how things went, although i feel it could have gone better. i would rather have taken jason smith, and then tried to get mccoy or bradford next year, however stafford seems like a good qb so hopefully he does well. personally i would have liked to see them take maualuga and then taken shawn nelson later, but again they know more than me, and pettigrew seems like a damn good player. would also liked to have got fili moala. oh well, this class looks like a good one. Josh McDaniel is too young and I believe too silly. In handling or in this case bungling the Cutler situation, he committed what is known in leadership circles as Gross Leadership Failure. He tried to come in as a hard-ass with no real tangible weight behind his overplay. He tried to Demand respect rather than Command it. If you really think about it, it's safe to say that all NFL prospects don't have the time to scour YouTube videos, to see what people's opinions are in terms of the draft and/or their pro careers. If they DO/ARE scouring the web, looking for opinions like this, then they're not doing what they SHOULD be doing, and are more likely to fail in the NFL. I could be wrong, but I think making these videos are a waste of time, other than making one's self feel better by offering their opinion.

About the Lions, they have completly started over with a new staff and front office. The truth is that you have no idea what Stafford will be going into. They have a good young RB, Calvin Johnson and no QB, You talk as if it's a foregone conclusion that Staff will start on day one. Linehan has been good with QBs and Stafford has already said he wants to play for Detroit. AND DID YOU REALLY CALL JAMARCUS RUSSELL A GREAT QB??

Eli Manning told the Chargers he wouldn't play for them, so they drafted him anyways then traded him. Manning still didn't have a choice where he would be traded, he could sit out and not play but that's it. Obviously San Diego ended up just fine.

Cutler is a bad example, his trade demands were made AFTER playing 3 years in the league.

Speaking of Denver, it's not like Stafford can demand that he be traded to Denver, so I'm not entirely seeing your point.

The Lions just rebuilt their front office. I expect them to be a good bit better but I like to look at this from the other angle. It's a mistake for the Lions to select a QB #1 overall. Trade down and build your team through the draft. As a Titans fan, I would be surprised if our former Defensive Coordinator picked a QB #1.
