well my question is this! IF PROSTITUTION IS SO RAMPANT AND A CRIME, WHY ISN'T SOMETHING DONE WITH THEM ONCE THEY ARE IN CUSTODY? I get so tired of seeing shows about prostitution, yet they are back out on the streets allowed to continue where they left off! if its a crime then arrest the bitches and get on with it! make examples of them as they do sex offenders and put them on the internet!

Great Question... Our Justice system is set up and focused on protecting the innocent while more time is spent defending the accused. These hookers &crack heads have no money to post out & the crime isn't as harsh as firearms, assault on a LEO, so our jails (hotels) realize that 3 meals and hygiene materials for every hooker or thug to use on a daily basis is not cost effective.. So we slap them on the wrist, & put em right back on our streets & use them as informants in many cases.

If there appears to be a problem with police enforcement turn up the heat on your city council/leaders. These people advise police on what crimes to focus on. If council does not want a hooker problem-police are not allowed to make arrests. Worked for a city that did not want a "drug problem" due to tourism. We were told not to make drug arrests - thats how it works.

Instead of arresting these women and throwing them in jail as punishment for this, they should rehabilitate these women. Send them to therapy. That's what they need. They don't need further victimization.

I 100% agree! However, Oklahoma currently offers virtually no rehabilitation options for prostitues. Also, police are in the law enforcement business, not counseling.
