  • They have been around for a long time but they're not on the same par as fiddles, flutes and concertinas yet. Neither are banjos and they go back to at least the Flanagan Brothers of the 1920s. I like the piano accordion as much as any other instrument and have no prejudice against them so don't think I'm looking for an argument :)

  • 'Fit in more easily' - that old CCE elitist chestnut?! Piano accordions have always been a welcome part of traditional music - included in ceili bands from early in the last century.
