  • awesome video - hell yeah

  • @Elnufo o

  • Great video.

  • get cubase u cheap cunt

  • @BornToRaveRecords And you know he doesnt have it? Stalkz zum moar

  • get cubase u cheap cunt

  • This guy sounds like an older Skrillex, lol

  • @nfxbeats how come my fl stuido doesnt look like that

  • @jamicannathan this video is from 2008, maybe that is the reason....

  • Presentation needs to be cleaned up... no one likes to be tak'n hostage, Its a bit teachee. To many run on words. 20 minutes. Thats asking to much from a bunch of stoned hip hop guys. try to keep it closer to 5 minutes... This isn't the classical period bro...

Info was excellent. Right to the point. Just what was needed..

  • @TheOmnicell I can't beleive you seriously put stoned Hip hop guys, hell are you talking about. If that's not as about one of the most ignorant things I've read yet on hear. As if all Hip hop people are "stoned" or even smokes. If someone wants a shorter Tutorial they can easily go somewhere else if they have short attention spans or such, he doesn't have to change his whole deal here. Some people need an extended tutorial like this, as some have commented saying so.

  • @Fr3shgirl17 Chill, maybe you should light up once in a while.

  • Your tutorial is awesome. Thanks

  • How can I get a real funky sounding bass like flea from RHCP?

  • @blaketheawesomedude Try to use some syncopes. These are notes, that are not on the timing, but are a bit misplaced, Also use some trioles and and some decorations to the note, like a hameron on a halfestep up.

Also look at some differnt kind of scales, like blues scales.

However there is no easy way, just try and you will improve.

  • Very helpful indeed - your tutorials are fantastic. Thank you NFX.

  • I think it depends what kind of music you're making. Funky, groovy kinda music is one kind that would require someone to think like you are in this tutorial. I like your tutorials btw =D

  • Thanx man. Your exploination works good for me. Once again thank you.

  • Excellent!

Taught me things I did not know, and re confirmed what I thought what was right!

  • How do you make the channels small like that?

  • In a major scale would you use the note that's one step down to lead into it instead of two steps?

  • One question, how can you make to see the background notes ? so you can fit the bass notes? i dont get it

  • @xTheWarlordx In your piano roll menu go to Helpers > Ghost Channels.

    Shortcut is ALT+V

  • @xTheWarlordx File>channel>ghost notes

  • all these people teaching how to make music. why dont they make a hit record and make mad money.

  • @KebbyTheProphet Not everything is money, some people care to show others. They put greed apart.

  • hey guys

    can someone help me

how can i use that "ghost" effect in the piano roll at 7:35 ??

  • Dude, your fucking awesome.

  • I really appreciate your tutorials on music theory because personally, I'd like to be more musically versed, and though I haven't put what you've taught me in practice, I can already see it enhancing my music making process and results. Thank you.

  • Really nice vid

  • great tutorial, i dont see why so many people bitching about ur elaboration, personally i'd rather know wtf is going on than just watch u do it without explaining.

  • @magicsoap69 i couldn't agree more. most so-called youtube "tutorials" are just showcasing their own skills....thank you nfxbeats for the bomb, elaborate tutorials :)

  • where is bassline i have FL Studio 10 full but i cant find bassline to do a electro or techno music say me the categoria or its have to download gime the link

  • BooBass ---> Boob Ass

  • @sonicpacker love both!

  • @sonicpacker It cannot be unseen.

  • i like your tutorials i even love them but stfu some times

  • uh oh look at here folks, if you look below we see a troll in its natural habitat..shhhh we dont want to scare it away now, look at his rude and inflammatory comment. Wow stunning.......He should be grateful we have free and helpful resources like this on youtube. Idiot

  • great help..thanks...

  • skip to 5:00 if you dont have patience

  • @huttermania love you no homo

  • Been making beats for awhile and im just learning this. FUCK. nice tutorial :D

  • OH JESUS THIS IS WHAT EVERY BEGGINER NEEEDEDDSSS!!! :D

  • Your movies are verry verry verry effectif. It makes a lot clear!!!

    Thanks for this!!!!!!!

  • very useful, thankyou!

  • i personally think of the bass as the muscle of the song....The percussion being the bones and the inst being the flesh...without muscle the bones wouldnt move along with the flesh :)

  • Is it possible to create a song just by ear, without much knowledge about the theoretical patterns in creating music?

  • @AceionzHardstyle That's how I produce music XDD

  • @jstarr48 Same here :D

  • @AceionzHardstyle yeah, less knowledge on music things aren't gonna make you stop producing some >:3

  • Any advice on the best way of memorising scales? SHould i just keep lookin at the notes an try to memorise? Play the scale? Count the intervals?

  • @Middollo Learn the circle of 5ths, learn keys, play the scales over and over and over again.

  • @Middollo Buy a scale book. :)

  • @Middollo memorize the circle of fifths. very useful

  • @jdaesaorn2012 I agree if you want to make a real bassline. In computer music you just hit keys make a rift and loop it.

  • @Anacondagamer Well just to warn you. It is indeed, over 9000.

  • 7:40 how do i make the notes from my other piano roll show up like that?

  • Thanks this was very helpful taught me some stuff i never knew. Subed

  • @Anacondagamer google it and you can download it for free :)

  • i had no idea the bottom columns were velocity this whole time...i've been looking how to change it for months now.

  • I've had FL since 2000 and have made a couple songs that were decent but had I known half the information in your tutorials I would have been able to create so much more. You've re-inspired me... thank you!

  • Great vid!

  • nah idot sumtyme ur lookin for certain advice so u skip threw to find different things doe doe smh smfh

  • Thank you, cool tutorial!

  • I don't like how the bass works with the melody at 17:40...

  • very very excellent tut

  • Great tutorial, man. Thanks a million.

  • Lol, 20 minutes.

  • How to HIDE THE NOTES

  • An example that definitely uses the baseline to define the song: the Ghost Busters theme song

  • no matter how creative your tryna make music , you will always come across something technical (engineering) i think music is both art and science :)

  • Straight up I would like to thank you for you taking your time to make a video with so much emphasis on the details that you state in your video(s) and not just running through things and moving on.

  • I love FL i just got it and It is just amazing, thanks to Koshi, I didn't know about ghost channels.

  • Thanks man!! Great vid, and you're website is amazing too!

  • Fuckkk. I wish he made tutorials for logic

  • How do you see the "invisble" chords from your other patterns?

  • @JRLofficial In PIANO ROLL, go to the top left corner and drop down the menu, go to HELPERS, and then activate GHOST CHANNELS. Then tada :D magic

  • @JRLofficial in piano roll window click top left for the options go in helpers and there will be ghost channels make sure its ticked then you can see other notes in your step sequencer only from the same pattern though hope this helped

  • @JRLofficial top left corner of the piano roll out, the arrow pointing down click on it go too helpers then ghost notes. u can also turn guides for chord notes.

  • @JRLofficial Alt + V

  • It should be fun that you can say where did you find the Prs Stones. It is a pretty nice Sound. Thank to answer my question

  • where did you get the guitar from? please say :)

  • Check my channel out for a nice remix of Adele rolling in the deep i made with FL STUDIO <3

  • How would u find the key note out of a song you sampled

  • @NewYorkNigga3 It can be pretty tough depending on the quality of what you sampled. And it is very difficult without an ear for it. What you need to listen for is the 5. in the key of C you will be looking for G5. its recognizable is because one of the notes on the chord is a 5th instead of a 7th. and this only occurs on the 5 and not on any other note. that can be a little tricky sometimes so what I try to do is figure out the notes/chords as I go and use trial an error based on what I find.

  • The ONLY PERSON ON YOUTUBE IVE SUBSCRIBED TO.

  • 1. follow chord progression

    2. .............watch the video

  • Thank You very much i did not know alot about the bass line in songs , and now i know simple things such as following the chord progression , it makes alot more sense now , i was taking music theory in school but i quit because the teacher was umbaraeble.

  • @ZyklonB12 @GRIPBOYZTV When you are in piano roll you go to the menu then go to helpers then ghost channels

  • HOW DOES HE SHOW BOTH PATTERNS IN THE PIANO ROLL AT THE SAME TIME?

  • @GRIPBOYZTV

Yes, I was about to ask the same thing.

  • yes ... you cant produce if you dont have a time to learn

  • My Reason (House Electro) tutorial :)

    /watch?v=V1XR1eNFj3w

  • Hey brother great tutorial, I loved the information and time you took to make this, but I was woundering if you could possible make a tutorial for a electronica type bassline? Something like Bassnectars song "Time stretch" or "Underwater"? I cant find any kind of tutorial teaching this style. If you know how to make this kind of bassline and could make a tutorial id appriciate it man. Im subscribing by the way!

    /watch?v=ogA2zD2CT88

  • i dont agree. you say every frequencys must be in a song, in minimal you use nearly no middle and it sounds very great doenst it?

  • @TheOverchilled minimal is shite mate honestly dont no why any1 would wanna listen to it let alone produce it

  • @TheOverchilled I think he means that u should use every frequency in your whole song, if he would finish that song he would add a instrument in the middle frequency register.

  • make them longer!!!

  • thanks mate :D

  • brilliant

  • keep makin yo tutorials as long as u want dont listen to the haters,it is in good detail and thks

  • absolutly briulliant , well done teach

  • thankyou very much sir. This video helped me a lot. Thankyou for your teaching and keep up the great work.

  • How does one get those grey notes (from the chords) at 7:35 on the note grid on the bassline piano roll? I've been trying to figure this out for quite a while now, anyone care to help me out?

  • @YoGangsta001: i don't use fruity, but it looks to me like they might be muted.

  • @YoGangsta001: i don't use fruity, but it looks to me like they might be muted. Or hold ctrl when you click on the pattern

  • @cakeuk Thanks you really helped me out, I finally found that little mute button!

  • 98 ppl wont be able to make a bassline

  • I appreciated the video

  • If you don't have the patience to watch a 20 minute video on one of the most important parts of creating a song then producing is not for you.

  • @lewis6590 some people are hands on learners, just saying

  • @polokopolopo true that, and obviously you cant learn everything by watching, you can only direct your own exploring and learning, but that's the best place to start imo

  • @lewis6590 Truer words have never been spoken. If you can't pay attention to a short instructional video you will never be a producer. Sorry.

  • @lewis6590 amen..

  • @lewis6590

true.. most people dont have the patience for producing

  • @lewis6590

    i know all about fl

i just like to see wut people make

  • @16HardstyleLover it looks like someone's really arrogant

  • @floatingmagictree

    im only 12

i dont know wut that means

  • Comment removed

  • @lewis6590 What if you already know what he's saying? Are you still not made for music production? ^_^

  • @h4X0ry0uL34 Then why are you watching?? You're and idiot.

  • @hannyselbak You're a 12-14 years old, you're overweighted and you are frustrated. I understand. You're trying to be smart, but it doesn't suit you at all, even on the internet. You didn't take into account that nobody knows all and maybe I was looking for some new tips, but with this video wasn't the case. Maybe next time you'll put your brain to work, but I doubt it. Have a nice day! ^^

  • @h4X0ry0uL34 You are the only one here who is trying to be smart :/

  • @h4X0ry0uL34 Uhh okay. Might as well dis me in another language if your English is so bad.

  • @h4X0ry0uL34 HEY BITCH (sorry) im 13!!! haha and i make trance hahaha

    :D :D :D

  • @PapiBocaChula new to you tube will be uploadin alot more, beats. holla. u dont have to subscribe shit, holla at me and i will send u some(rappers). comments welcome good or bad.will also be uploading my snare roll sequences, baseline etc.

  • click 3 once and he says fuck XD

  • You give away good basic music info, I like it

  • 98 fags dislike pussy

  • @flocka85 I thought all fags dislike pussy... that's why they're gay...

  • It's really important too, to have some notes or ghost notes as he said to integrate in swing with the rest of all track instruments, because it make the bass line a little bit more groovy and enlighten the bass sound itself on your track!

    Another trick for you guys

  • wow who is this guy?? musical genius much?? damn man i learn so much from these videos

  • thanks this was very helpfull!

  • how i can see the existing notes from the other pattern???

  • AT ANY POINT DID HE PLAY THE MUSIC SO WE COULD HEAR WAT IT SOUNDED LIKE??

  • hi - shouldn't a bass go counter movement to the higher register's progression?

  • Bass: Stay within your scale and follow the chord prgression.

  • Thank you for that very useful tutorial! :)

  • thank you, watching this video helped me out alot with my basslines.. cool stuff .]

  • Loved this tut. Just wish I would have seen it in 2008. I'm going to watch all your others now and sub, thanks! :D

  • I thought the tutorial was quite good. I really like it. Basic and solid. Maybe a link to a tutorial about progressions and scales. Otherwise. Golden!

  • Not only are his tutorials good its amazing...

  • 1XxShenxX1 is right, these tutorials are good and we are thankful but i also think that its way too slow.. I almost feel retarded when listening to this, but then again, we always have to think of the less talented people here in the world that need more time to understand these things :)

  • @DJBackslick you ma ma ma ma ma make me hap happ happpyyyyy.

  • Sickkk!!

  • i always learn/see something new with every video.. its amazing.. i consider myself decently proficient with FL.. been using it since my MPC broke circa 98. godsend.. and has come a long way..

how did you overlay the pattern??? in the piano roll..

sometimes i find myself wishing you'd get on with it but your tutorials are very thorough nontheless and good for beginners. a godsend, i'd imagine.

  • PEOPLE ONLY SAY SHIT LIKE THAT BECAUSE THEY LIKE TO TAKE THE EASY WAY WITH EVERYTHING, TO BE EFFECTIVE AND TO GROW AS A PRODUCER/BEATMAKER U HAVE TO LEARN. THESE ARE THE SAME PPL WHO DIDN'T FINISH HIGH SCHOOL. LOL.

  • @fredro86 High five son!

  • HATERSSSSSS!!

  • One of the Best Tutorials! I am also a Producer, check my new Track "Move" and give me Feedback, Thank you a lot! GraneZ

  • I must admit that to this point your videos are the ones which helped me most on youtube!

  • Great tutorial. thanx much.

  • people these days, always wanting instant results without the effort and time required to get those results. It's sad these same people are trying to be musicians. As always warbeats, great tutorial. Huge topic, but you narrowed it down pretty well.

  • i need help. you know like at the end of the songs some of them the volume starts going down slowly and i dont know how to do it can somebody HELP MEE

ILL SUBSCRIBE THE PERSON WHO SAYS IT

  • See this as an opportunity to practice focusing. Anyone really interested will make themselves absorb. We only retain a small % initially, so watch it 10 times or more if necessary. Those excuses will get you nowwere in life...trust me, I know!

  • nice tut! At first I was skeptical because you were using fruity loops (not that there's anything wrong with that) but it actually makes it easy to follow what you're talking about. I know a teeny bit of music theory but you broke it down logically. I will def check out your other vids.

  • great tutorial!!! thanx

  • record first then smoke pot :D

  • YO DO U MAKE BEATS IF NOT... Y NOT???

  • A SMART STUDENT DONT NEED picture books and stuff to get there work done i actually learned some stuff on this video thanks i been wanting to learn about frequency scale good music doesn't come easy
