Just before Christmas day, I got the original broadcast of this episode (only, without the commercials, and the credits fade out near the end) from a trade.
There was no rule that stated how many words minimum had to be used to fill in the blank. The way the question was presented, the contestant only needed to use one.
@nowhammies10 Not sure what they won, since it's not clear what the other prizes were (and I haven't seen the other episodes from this week since 1992).
@barber747 I first remembered watching the show and playing along about 1989, though my parents said I giggled at the sound effects such as the puzzle intro cue and the Bankrupt slide whistle when I was a baby in 1984.
@gamelover1949 Well, if you would've had GSN in January 1998 or earlier via Digital Cable of your parents' choice in Dec. '97 or DirecTV or Dish Network, then you should've known what other prizes were won that week, if not, then you should've recorded the other 4 episodes of the week first-run via Betamax or from a VHS tape.
@Ivoryman1986 My parents rarely lived together, and my grandmother's cable package back in 1998 didn't offer GSN. And I was 8 in 1992; the last thing on my mind back then was recording TV shows!
interesting what Charlie O'Donnell says at the end of the show that winnings over 125,000 will be donated to the charity of the contestant's choosing.. i wonder if this was show policy or California State law
Thanks so much for re-uploading this episode, David! When the great crash of last summer occurred, I was so upset that this episode was lost. This was the first Wheel that I ever saw, three days after I was born. I'll consider this a great Christmas present from you.
This episode was a perfect choice for Christmas, David! Somebody dominated for pretty much the entire game! I don't want to ruin the outcome for people who haven't seen this episode, so I won't say who.
I love how that bow adorns the puzzle board.

...What did they win on their first day that was $70k?
Oh, and I love the use of Nightwalk in promoting the video games!

That was the policy of CBS, where the show taped at the time. That was their winning limit (which was eventually lifted several years later).
