I visited Renzo's school in 00, 01, and 02 and it was just an amazing experience. Renzo is the best and deserves all the respect in the world!

@DBKK i dont think gsp is a real black belt, his coach must've felt the need to award him prematurely, but his wrestling skills on the ground will be too much for sheilds, i mean the guy almost got choked out by mayhem, who was utterly destroyed by gsp.

@hoodfigga33 Wrestling skills on the ground? The majority of BJJ consists of positioning and defense, submissions is the smaller part. GSP is a black belt under Bruno Fernandez, which says quite a lot, and you don't have to be a submission wizard to be a great black belt. Look at Ricardo Arona. He's an ADCC champion but he rarely submits people in neither submission wrestling or MMA. GSP's positioning and control is great, and it's BJJ.

Renzo seems a good instructor. However, he is done as fighter. I saw him in Barcelona, Spain, Europe for the Abudabi finals and he is mega/super fat!! He is so done for fighting.

@ccicc So what? He's 44 years old and has been fighting since 1992. You say it like it's a slight against him that he can't go in there and beat a 28 year old supreme athlete that's been training mma for 10 years (not talking about gsp). Good instructor "however" he is done as a fighter? Like that makes him any less of a bjj expert? Or that people shouldn't train with him since he might not fight mma anymore.
