I realized a while back that not everyone has their file extensions set to be shown on their computers. That means whenever they were trying to rename the file as "soundset3.sf2," they were actually renaming it to "soundset3.sf2.sf2" and MPC wouldn't load any sounds because there's no file named "soundset3.sf2" in the folder.

Basically, if you don't see .sf2 at the end of the file, then you don't have to put .sf2 at the end of the soundfont you want to use - just rename it as soundset3.

SOLUTION TO SOUND MUTING:

Go out and find a different program called Advanced Mario Sequencer. Download that to somewhere (don't mess with it's files). Then, save this file to the same place. Open AMS, go to soundfonts. Select "Add Soundfont". Look in your computer for this soundfont. Select it. Go to soundfonts. Select this soundfont in the drop down menu. TADAAA.

This soundset is so awesome. I'm currently using it for a song and it's coming along pretty well. This soundset has pretty much everything you need for a lot of songs.

This is fantastic, but there are some instruments that I wish to be modified. For instance: The bass has got a great sound, but sometimes when I've used it, it's very difficult to hear. It's not the volume; it just needs to be a little more... bassy.

The second one is the strings. To me, it sounds more like singing and if you put notes close to each other, it sounds quite jumpy instead of smooth. Besides of that, I really like this. I've even used it in one of my videos. Keep up the good work.

Due that i downloaded ''Airfont'', A Big Soundset with a lot of sounds. With That i made a lot of soundsets. All My Custom Soundsets Are: Windows, Percugan, Christmas, RBD, Symphony Medium and Real Advance. you only need to right click/copy and paste presets. and you have it, ;)

I have a new soundset on mediafire called Real Advanced. This soundset haves: Louder Bass, Better Bass Drum, Better Music Box, Quieter Strings, Electric Guitar, Better Steel Drum, Higher Harpsichord, Some sounds are 1 lower oct so they sound real. Im Going To release it when i get 5 subscriptors. Next release will be Symphony Advance. PD: im not calling the soundset own, im only edit your sf because on MPH of Levus, Many People commented that the bass was too low volume.

ok, so I've downloaded twice. Replaced the original soundfont with the new one labelling it "soundset3.sf2". Once done, I renamed the original as "default.sf2". Ran MPC v2 and.... no sound. I've read through almost all the comments trying to find a cure. I've tried "soundset3.sf3", "soundset3", "soundfont3.sf2", I've deleted the original soundfont with a backup somewhere in a different folder. Nothing I do is helping. Please help. I searched so long for an amazing soundfont and now it won't work

@kloop2 OK, from what I did, which is retard, but w/e. Capitalize the S in Soundset3. It's so stupid but ingenious. If anybody has had the same problem as me, just capitalize the S. The finished product should look like this "Soundset3.sf2"

@jakattak033 Ooh! I figured it out! Since the SoundFont is already a SF2 file (well, at least it's already on mines...), try remove the .sf2 from the name so it looks like: "soundset3". I had no volume like you did, but it works now after I removed the .sf2!

You're not supposed to open the file. You just put it in the folder with the correct name. Description has details.

The problem is if you dont make another folder it gets confused and try to use default and the real sound making it have no sound so make a folder called default and put the default in there.

I downloaded the Soundset3 and everytime I open it, it says " Adobe Reader could not open 'Soundset3.sf2' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged ( For example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't corrextly decoded). You have to change the name of the soundfont to "soundset3.sf2" (without the quotations) or else there will be no sound. And make sure to rename the original soundfont to something else. Whichever soundfont is named "soundset3.sf2" is the soundset Mario Paint Composer uses.
