This guy is not being used right as a 7. He need to be playing 8 or 6 ideally. Throw ferris in second row with o connell. With o driscoll out he might even be a centre option if you had someone with hands beside him. Any way he is not a 7. Backrow isnt balanced

@superrprop I think him and ferris are different players, he is a much better ball carrier and ferris defensive work is exceptional

@EoinCarroll9 Ferris is an allround better player he's as you say better defensively is a better lineout option and is nearly as good a runner just look at his performances for Ulster and Ireland today.

O'brien played well because of the poor defence from bath, it wasn't a true reflection of how good he is... any backrower could have looked good against bath in that game
