How amazing that I found this video! Gordon Van Allen worked for my dad, Robert Elliott, at The Bargain Mart in the 1950's. I was 8 and my sister Kathy was 4. We always made a beeline for the dark cramped corner of the store where all the electronic repairs were 'happening', because we knew that our friend Mr. Allen would be there with a smile on his face to see us. He always had time to listen to us, answer our questions and sing a ditty. He relieved our serious & stressed childhood. Thanks!
