I took my 2010 fx and they just did reprogram the computer module. Now this problem is gone. It seems to be a new fix. I complained many times about it and now finally fixed. The car runs much better now. Take it to infiniti
@FaisalakbarM Yeah. I did. It's normal though. If you read the comments on here, plenty of people have the same thing. It's not annoying or anything. I just wanted to let other owners know that they're not the only one.
@nyfries Seems like I'm definitely not the only one then. That must sound like you're buzzing in a 4-cylinder when revving that low with an exhaust system. Sounds like it in the car, but like I've said, the car runs great, and it's not like it's hurting the car or anything. The torque is quite surprising for revving that low. If you're just creeping around, it actually is a lot less jerky when you're slowing down. NYFries, you know what I'm talking about!
@ilovenissan Oh! My 370Z and FX, ONLY get Shell 93 octane V-Power. Thanks for the comment. I love my machines. Your right. I'm too soft on my FX. She needs a little "Aggresivness" on occasion.
i have a new 2010 fx35 and when im just cruising for a long time it sort of feels like it takes a lil more push on the pedal for the car to go. I think its the technology it has cause the fx has this thing where it can transfer torque around and stuff.
@OneOfaKind949 You'll feel it kick out of this mode when you step on it, but you really have to give it a good stab, then it will stop doing this. I'm talking over half-throttle.
All transmissions will learn and adapt to your driving habits especially on these Infinitis. If you drive with a light foot the transmission will adapt and shift at early points. Since you have the 7 speed the transmission will always seek the highest gear for maximum fuel economy. If the early shifting is bothering you all you needa do is drive the car a bit hard or put it in DS mode.
@skylinegtr09 Oddly enough, I really don't change my driving style. I run the same roads pretty much every day. Sometimes it does this on startup, and sometimes it doesn't. Most of the time, it's not like this. I understand transmissions adapting, but this is a "black or white" situation.
@Techolover21 Eh, Techlover. It's normal. All the new Nissan 7-speeds do it at certain times of driving. I'm still incredibly happy with the car. When it does that, I just have to get on the gas more, and it will eventually pop out of that mode. I'm not sure what that mode is, but clearly, it's programmed in if you drive a certain way. Others on the FX forum have the same thing. We just smile and keep on driving. Thanks for your concern though!
@Techolover21 Nah. I have all the power, but the transmission sometimes just goes into some sort of different "mode." I'd say, just driving around the city, this strange "mode" kicks in about 25% of the time. I use Shell V-Power religiously. The car has done it since new. I'm not sure what driving style it's trying to adapt to. I even have the transmission reflash, but that just helps with downshifting coming to a stop.
I think it's just the transmission trying to figure out your driving style. I really don't think there's a fix for it, it's just it trying to adapt to, ummm, "something." I'm not taking it in either. I actually kind of like that low-rev mode because I feel like I'm saving on gasoline a little bit. Sorry I don't have the answers for you. I guess it happens to all of the Nissan/Infiniti 7-speeds on occasion. Have fun Sphinx!
