  • the best mike smith brazil

  • One my most favorite groups of all time. What a great voice Mike Smith has.

  • any chance you post the other side of this single, it is a super version of "bring it back home"

  • yes!

  • The BEST all-around voice in Rock and best personality in a group who had true showmanship ... ALAWAYS a good feeling inside hearing his voice to this day ... Meeting him was a thrill and an honor ...

  • IM GLAD HE KNEW ABOUT THE hALL OF FAME BEFORE HE PASSED!

    LONG LIVES THE DC5!!!

  • oh yeah I had this 45..a FOR ONCE IN MY LIFE clone..

  • Great "Les Reed produced DC5 recording". A kind of Tom Jones-ish feel.

  • Yep, thanks.

  • Thanks.

  • The Dave Clark Five were not political, nor anti-establishment. They did not pontificate their opinions. Their lives were not marred by scandal. THEY WERE GIFTED MUSICIANS who had a distinque sound that set them apart from all the other British Invasion groups. They recorded songs that were pleasing to hear sans hidden messages. Over looked? HELL YES. They deserved more than what they got and amazingly never once complained in public. Gentlemen all. Mike and Denis, may God grant you peace.

  • R.I.P. dear Mike Smith. God bless him

    Greetings from Peru

  • One of the best rock voices of all time. Too bad you were not there for your induction into the R&R Hall of Fame. RIP Mike, you are missed and will always be remembered.

  • how did mike pass away?

  • He died from pneumonia in February 2008. before that, he had been paralysed by a fall at his home in Spain in 2003, just after he was achieving new-found success with a comeback tour. Tragic. He was released from hospital in December 2007 but contracted pneumonia due to his weakness. Sadly, this was just two weeks before he was due to travel to New York to join the other members of the DC5 to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

  • Nice tribute to a great guy. RIP Mike

  • Rest in peace Mike.........you were a wonderful singer and a great guy. From a fan of the DC5.

  • Thanks so much offshutte for your tribute to Micheal Smith. I had the pleasure and priviledge to meet him~~even dance with him. His loss was so sudden, but all my 33 1/3 records and memories will live on.

  • Can anyone else hear Stevie Wonder's influence in this song? I swear I hear "For Once In My Life" all over this song.

  • Great Job Offshute, thanks a billion for putting together this cool tribute for Mike "Boomer" Smith (R.I.P.) It's a damn shame the "powers that be" did NOT induct the Dave Clark Five into the Hall Of Fame (I almost wrote "Hall of Shame..) in time for Mike Smith to have seen been there. Mr. Smith has to be one of the TOP 3 British Invasion vocalists, but he was also an excellent keyboardist, arranger, composer, and one hell of a great Human Being. Mrs. Charlie Smith, thanks for taking care of M.

  • @Unixilandia the rock hall of fame is so bogus. dc5 should have been in long ago along with many others that they have ignored. it seems to be some sort of a clique that only inducts the "correct "artists. it is full of shit....but to get back to the real point of your comment.......no one was more under rated than mke smith....his vocals were just outstanding. he should have been in the hall of fame just by himself....he never got credit because the dc5 were never considered serious artists

  • Terrific theme, instrumentals, backups, and most of all, THAT VOICE! Thanks for posting. This somebody loves you, Mike Smith!

  • A white man,who looked looked like he worked at Harrods, who had a black soul voice!

    Fantastic!

I believe Paul McCartney had a lot of respect for his talents!

  • Mike Smith was the only voice that could have made the DC5 bigger than the Beatles for at least two years,I'm old enough to remember, they had a great sound. Too bad it took those morons at the Hall of Fame so long to get this group it's just due,3o years. they should have been inducted years ago and Mike would have been there, not just in spirit,God Bless you Mike.and thanks for the memories

  • I love this plus I love Mike Smith.

  • We never get tired of hearing "the Voice!"

  • Another great tribute to Mike.

  • Saw the DC5 a number of times. I'm an old guy but I still love them. I wanted to be Mike Smith when I was a kid.

  • Yep I acquired this tune 0n 45 in 1969. It's a Dave Clark & Friends recording actually featuring a Stevie Wonder-ish nod to his hit, For Once In My Life.

  • Great Vid. Thank you and R.I.P. Mike you were fantastic.

  • Wow! One the only DC5 I do not have in my collection. Mike's voice is great and makes the song. I'll miss you Mike.

    JJ

  • Truly, truly miss you Mike!

  • Wow! Great video! RIP Mike
