Try getting the admin to recognize the stress on the job and work to reduce it. Every week, changing policy and discipline of some and not others always makes for a stress free work place. Then take trauma -- calling a guy a nit-wit seems to fit best after the guy just got busted up. Yea, the're gonna change alright... LOL

Every pig who kills himself saves dozens of innocent doughnuts. I don't want to hear about the stress of police officers. I work my ass off in a stressful job for a lousy paycheck. There is a huge difference between city cops and the ones in the suburbs. Suburban cops are glorified meter maids who have no idea what to do with real criminals. But they sure know how to harass innocent minorities.

The figures given in this film by the P.O.L.I.C.E. suicide foundation CANNOT be verified as stated. A recent study showed 130-150 police suicides per year, not 350. Sadly, he claims to answer the wrong question, which is not "how many" but "why?"

Look at the bright side: If a cop is unstable enough to commit suicide, then he certainly isn't fit to "serve and protect" the public. He's making the right decision. Further, if the cop commits suicide, it saves the system money that it would otherwise have had to pay him for his retirement. A penny saved is a penny earned.

It's stupid to bash police as if they are all bad cops. If you care about cleaning up your local pd, the pressure should be on the chief and city officials for keeping officers who do not live up to the public's trust.
