Um no I didn't try it, but considering the whole 'draw' of the game is the motion sensitivity of the wiimotes, I see no reason why it would work with the classical controller.
they messed up on the story i dont think it was made by all of the same people though but seigfried transformed almost instantly when he picked up the souledge in soulblade it wasnt gradual so ehhh i wouldnt really look at it as a sc game
if soul calibur legends is exclusively for the wii then they should have Link . link is the best cahracter ever and is my favorite chracter is soul calibur 2 (GC) so why dont they put him
As far as I can tell, if you hit the guard button as you hit the ground, you hop up a lot faster. It might just be me though. x.x I was hoping this game was going to be a lot better, Soul Calibur being my favorite fighting game. I can only play it in 1-2 hour bouts, though. x.x

Yes the story was nonsensical and stupid, heh. I don't want to ruin it for others, but really, it made no sense the way it ended. It's like they decided they needed a twist ending, but they didn't want to invest in a twist ending that still made a lick of sense.
I think the most annoying thing about this game was the fact that it was so repetative...I hated that about it, god same thing over, and over. Groan.
I loved the character selection though, except astaroph and mitsurugi.
And the voice acting...bore. SC4 was way better. I never got tht. is it rili so hard to find good voice actors? I mean, look at Devil May Cry ALWAYS amazing voice acting.

It looks like at least fighting the boss battles would be fun.. So can you use or activate any items in the game, or only smash them? Makes me want to play Ninja Gaiden actually.. =3
Um, well you can 'activate' some stuff by slashing it with your sword, like turning statues around, heheh. It's very elementary though. Soul Calibur Legends, an RPG, it is not.

ive been checking out the wiimotionplus and i mean the idea is great and people are probably gunna buy it, but for long time wii users it will feel sort of akward due to the fact that its an extension to the remote making it slightly heavier and longer.if money werent a factor, i would wish nintendo would send wiimotes with the wiimotionplus integrated within to make a kick ass remote, but even before that is even worked on they have to make games that actually require great amount of motion
i agree. games have been denied due to the lack of graphics compared to "godly" 360 and PS3. its funny how games only come out for 360 and PS3 due to the lack of grapics on the wii yet games wont take the full advantage of the motion sensor of the wii. If we don't do that all we have is a "gamecube advanced". pretty disappointing seeing how the wii could be the greatest thing since sliced bread yet no one does anything about it. Its sad how wii sports is still the best motion sensor game....
well, and more disappointing is the fact that the motion capabilities really aren't all that sensitive or accurate. we'll have to see how the 'wii motion plus' controllers do, but of course that would require buying all new controllers and only games made for the new remotes would utilize the added sensitivity. Personally I'm happy with using the wii to point for fps games, it's actually a lot more fun than aiming with a mouse, even.
only part about dragon that pisses people off is when ur close and it flaps its wings and that red circle goes under it and even if you jump you get owned. i hope they make soul calibur 4 for wii....
And I'm sorry, but I really doubt they will. Sadly the Wii keeps getting the short end of the stick because the graphics are, admittedly, not quite as 'omgawesome' as Xbox 360 and PS3. Unfortunately, people like me who value fun factor and playability over graphics are apparently a minority, so very seldom are games marketed to us. Likewise, I wish they would make REs Evil 5 for the Wii like they did with 4, but I know they won't ;_;
For most far range range attack, do you know you could hit them off? Of course you need timing, but parry should do the work too.
When you face an enemy, you can just go and wack them with normal swings to make things easier.
For Dragons, their movements are actually pretty regular, I can defeat almost all the dragons withough losing 1/4 of a life (except the green one, but it's still easy).
If you need help with a boss or level, I could help you if you wished? (playing it 3 times now)
But my suggestion of the game was PLAY IT AS IF IT's REAL. That's the purpose of Wii.
First I would clean the sensors.
Then when I played, I always stand and hold the remotes parallel to the ground. Seriously! It works! Because then when you doing horizontal slash, the sensor wouldn't go diagnol (from your position) and count it as vertical.
I actually never really depends on Soul Break, rush and parry that much. Normally I just run and swing my hands to the enemy, just beware of TV. ha
Don't mind those people, I thought the opinions are good, because at least you explained them through the sensible way. Not just shout at people to shut up or sort of this thing.
Personally, I thought it's a not-that-bad game as an individual game from the SC series to Wii. I love the control movements of Wii, but as you said, sometimes it's really frustrating to perform a move that you actually want but you ended up with hundreds of others lolz.
I like this game a lot, although I find the storyline kind of dull besides that u have to fight a boss at the end of every chapter. This game takes a lot of energy out of u and this game doesn't have that many characters. But everything else is pretty cool espically if u play with a friend.

I bought it even before checking any reviews, play it, and just truly begin dissapointed by it. Bad controls, awful camera, repetive enemies, dull environments, boring storyline, and low PS2 quality graphics. A total waste of my 50 bucks, thanks Namco! >:(
meh true you get stuck in places alot, they did a fairly good just for their first platformer, i mean you gotta give them some credit for making it realistic, thinking of how you need to fight things and still survive lol.., but flicking your wrists like you said, yeah thats kind've a forearm workout but i lined my self up with the sensor bar and its fairly easy to do all of the moves with out and flicking of the wrists, i suggest sitting close to the sensor bar, its really helpful and clear

Well, you could watch the review to learn if I like it or not, heh.
But if you're too lazy for that, it's not the greatest game, but if you're a fan of the Soul Calibur series, it's maybe worth a rent.

It looks like at least fighting the boss battles would be fun.. So can you use or activate any items in the game, or only smash them? Makes me want to play Ninja Gaiden actually.. =3

Um, well you can 'activate' some stuff by slashing it with your sword, like turning statues around, heheh. It's very elementary though. Soul Calibur Legends, an RPG, it is not.

maaan, I have this game and I have to say, it looks like it will get frustrating (still on chapter 3), and by the vid you look way better than me so if it´s hard for you i´m gonna suck hard xDDD
but really good game, I just wish they added more characters on vs mode (like the bosses Cervantes Nightmare, etc)

ive been checking out the wiimotionplus and i mean the idea is great and people are probably gunna buy it, but for long time wii users it will feel sort of akward due to the fact that its an extension to the remote making it slightly heavier and longer.if money werent a factor, i would wish nintendo would send wiimotes with the wiimotionplus integrated within to make a kick ass remote, but even before that is even worked on they have to make games that actually require great amount of motion

i agree. games have been denied due to the lack of graphics compared to "godly" 360 and PS3. its funny how games only come out for 360 and PS3 due to the lack of grapics on the wii yet games wont take the full advantage of the motion sensor of the wii. If we don't do that all we have is a "gamecube advanced". pretty disappointing seeing how the wii could be the greatest thing since sliced bread yet no one does anything about it. Its sad how wii sports is still the best motion sensor game....

well, and more disappointing is the fact that the motion capabilities really aren't all that sensitive or accurate. we'll have to see how the 'wii motion plus' controllers do, but of course that would require buying all new controllers and only games made for the new remotes would utilize the added sensitivity. Personally I'm happy with using the wii to point for fps games, it's actually a lot more fun than aiming with a mouse, even.

only part about dragon that pisses people off is when ur close and it flaps its wings and that red circle goes under it and even if you jump you get owned. i hope they make soul calibur 4 for wii....

And I'm sorry, but I really doubt they will. Sadly the Wii keeps getting the short end of the stick because the graphics are, admittedly, not quite as 'omgawesome' as Xbox 360 and PS3. Unfortunately, people like me who value fun factor and playability over graphics are apparently a minority, so very seldom are games marketed to us. Likewise, I wish they would make REs Evil 5 for the Wii like they did with 4, but I know they won't ;_;

the main great feature of this game is the controls.

For most far range range attack, do you know you could hit them off? Of course you need timing, but parry should do the work too.
When you face an enemy, you can just go and wack them with normal swings to make things easier.
For Dragons, their movements are actually pretty regular, I can defeat almost all the dragons withough losing 1/4 of a life (except the green one, but it's still easy).
If you need help with a boss or level, I could help you if you wished? (playing it 3 times now)

But my suggestion of the game was PLAY IT AS IF IT's REAL. That's the purpose of Wii.
First I would clean the sensors.
Then when I played, I always stand and hold the remotes parallel to the ground. Seriously! It works! Because then when you doing horizontal slash, the sensor wouldn't go diagnol (from your position) and count it as vertical.
I actually never really depends on Soul Break, rush and parry that much. Normally I just run and swing my hands to the enemy, just beware of TV. ha

Don't mind those people, I thought the opinions are good, because at least you explained them through the sensible way. Not just shout at people to shut up or sort of this thing.
Personally, I thought it's a not-that-bad game as an individual game from the SC series to Wii. I love the control movements of Wii, but as you said, sometimes it's really frustrating to perform a move that you actually want but you ended up with hundreds of others lolz.

I like this game a lot, although I find the storyline kind of dull besides that u have to fight a boss at the end of every chapter. This game takes a lot of energy out of u and this game doesn't have that many characters. But everything else is pretty cool espically if u play with a friend.

ya , it may just be cuz i was good at melee then once brawl came out i stuck with it, but i could see people getting good with wiimote nunchuck in it , but not wii mote on its own.

uh well that depends on what you mean 'wherever you like' I mean you can roam around a little bit, but the levels are pretty linear anyway...it's like Nintendo 64, with certain paths you have to take, only even more limited.

What Im mad about it developers keep trying new things on the wii, that they KNOW are doomed to bomb. like the castlevania fighter on the wii. whether or not that will bomb is still to be seen though.

Finally, someone actually reviews this game in youtube. I remembre last year I was waiting very excited for the game to come out because i love the Soul Calibur series. I bought it even before checking any reviews, play it, and just truly begin dissapointed by it. Bad controls, awful camera, repetive enemies, dull environments, boring storyline, and low PS2 quality graphics. A total waste of my 50 bucks, thanks Namco! >:(

meh true you get stuck in places alot, they did a fairly good just for their first platformer, i mean you gotta give them some credit for making it realistic, thinking of how you need to fight things and still survive lol.., but flicking your wrists like you said, yeah thats kind've a forearm workout but i lined my self up with the sensor bar and its fairly easy to do all of the moves with out and flicking of the wrists, i suggest sitting close to the sensor bar, its really helpful and clear
