lol,and when i played this on hard,i had all but one energy tank,210 missiles,all S. missiles and i still could not beat him,only time i won i got very lucky...and i still could not beleive i beat the excape...

Why doesn't Ridley shoot any eye lasers horizontally? Is that luck or are you doing something specific? Those lasers always hit me and cause me to fall into his claw, which is what keeps messing me up.

he does. You can lure his head by space jumping. You'll want to lure his head midway not too high and not at the bottom.

I hate how the Space Pirates can take out one Energy Tank, XD. They're what screw me over in the end on a 10% hard run. Now I'm memorizing their locations to be ready for them, and I'm hoping that I can beat that run this weekend.

Did you ever beat this game in 10% Hard Mode? I'm in Mecha Ridley and I can NOT beat him. He's so annoying without Super Missiles or Screw Attack.

I'm having problems too. I keep getting the glass casing off but then everything just gets so luck dependant with that eye laser. I spent a whole day fighting him and I only came close 4 times. I've never spent so much trying to kill a single boss before in my entire life.

At least I beat mother brain with 10 items on hard mode so far. I put that video up several months. Look for it.

I'll say this much, if I ever beat him. I probably will NEVER play this game ever again as long as I live.

For some reason, I can't reply to you in your vid (or other vids), so here's what I want to say.

Yeah, I beat him TWICE, but got killed by a lowly Space Pirate on the escape. I hate how the can deal an entire energy tank of damage in Hard Mode.

Well, a Youtube user known as ShadowMario3 is uploading his run of 10% Hard Mode. Hopefully his (or yours, once you upload it) vid of the last battle and escape can help me out.

The thing I liked about this walkthrough is that it doesn't poses the silent sterilty of a Time Assisted Speedrun. You see this person make mistakes, amke decisions, and attempt incredible feats only to mess up. It gives a ray of hope, as it tells us that we can all do this, if you can't shoot 16 shots per second; you just need good knowledge of the map layout. Thanks for this.

No. If you are shooting for the 15% items or less picture of Samus. You only need to do it. There is no time goal. However for the completion and speed run pictures that's a different story.

u got lucky, most of the time ridley didn't aim his lazer at you.

I beat this game on a 15% run on Hard WITH ONLY 2 MISSLES AND 1 SUPER MISSLE!!! WOO!

I also skipped the high-jump, too!

Funny you should mention that because I am at meta ridley with 9 items (normal mode.) and I'm discovering he is MUCH easier to aim at now that I don't have the high jump boots. Expect a zebetite tutorial and mother brain video coming sometime later (gotta finish FF9) but I've been stuck on meta ridley. The problem I'm having is NOT the eyebeam but the missiles. I CAN'T SHOOT THEM! Lol. Weird...If only I could shoot the missiles properly meta ridley wouldn't be such a problem on 9 items.

how do you skip the high jump. that's not physically possible

There's a lot of things you can skip in this game. Anything that needed high jumps to traverse through you can do with either power gripping, bombjumping, or triangle jumping.

I just got here with 10% on hard. Apparently one can't do 9% hard because there is a place where you need three missiles in a row.

How do you record this smooth? what recorder you use and video settings?

I am playing at 0 throttle (60fps)

The codec is Microsoft Video 1 at 100% compression and once I use windows movie to maker to make subs and other things that are necessary I compress the video using the "High Quality Video (NTSC)" setting.

Also this is all done on my dad's vista which has a 256mb video card. You might be able to do it with a 128mb video card I think. But I certainly can't do it on my computer which has a weak 64mb video card.
