You might like these too, but dont try to compare them against Toradora. They are very deep and mind opening, I liked them a lot for some reason. Get tissues though, might need them. :)

Unfortunately a lot of times we miss the valuable lessons that are being conveed by anime such as Toradora. People only tend to see what they want to see and that is sad. Thats why its good sometimes to go back and rewatch stuff you have seen, might pick something new from it. :)

1:45 minorin gives you this stare that creeps you out and makes you want to say something, but for some reason you just can't stop looking at her and just stays quiet...
When Minori grabs Taiga, it reminds me from the movie Airplane when there's a hug line of people with weapons shaking the lady. "YOUR GOING TO BE ALRIGHT!" -slaps-
Reason why I liked this scene so much was because of all the "fakes" the show had; (Ami most obviously, hell they dedicate the entire first episode of her appearance to it.) Kushieda for the way she is with not only her friends, but her best friend (being called out during the ski trip by Ami.) but this scene trumps them all because the biggest fake of them all Taiga, finally gets called out by her best friend no less, "look, you're my friend and all, but cut the bullshit already." Truly epic.

These characters are just like the rest of us, they just have their faults, fears, weaknesses, pain and self-doubts which they wish to keep hidden from others. Just like real people. That's `what makes this series so superb, because the characters are so human.
@KazumeSR Take Taiga for example, most people think she is a very strong character. That`s incorrect. Actually she is the most fragile character in the series and Minorin KNOWS that. That is why she always tried to protect Taiga. Taiga is easily wounded and hurt by littlest things. She has huge inferiority complex, because of her body and her height. Her violent personality and behavior is a defense mechanism she erected to keep others from hurting her and causing her pain.
@KazumeSR Ami is far from fake. Her modeling job requires her to act. Even when she is sad or feels down she still have to put up on a smile in front of a lot of people. People adore her yet they never able to see the real her, because of that she is ALWAYS alone and unable to share the REAL her with others. She created her double personalities as a coping mechanism to deal with this problem.
@KazumeSR Ami knows she intimidates most people due to her looks and status, because of that its HARD for her to make real friends, so she pretends to be an airhead to compensate for her looks so people not intimidated by her so much. In reality she is incredibly smart and a natural psychologist. Most of the time in the series she reads people like books with great ease. She knows what they think and feel even before they realize it. She is pretty amazing if you think about it.

Taiga (small girl yelling) fainted during a school trip and got carried by Takasu. But she woke up a bit on the moment and thought to be rescued by the other guy. She then says that she likes Takasu.. without knowing that she was talking to him. In this scene, she don't want to tell her true feelings because she wants her best friend (red hair girl) to be with Takasu (she likes him too)
For christs sake someone get the Taiguji and Minoriji fanboys the fuck outta here because fanboy are worse than trolls I just wanna burn them T.T and anywho I love this scene one of my favorites ^^
I love how Minori decided to tell the real truth instead of noticing that Ryuuji had a reason for not telling Taiga the truth and forced them together. Lol.

And to ANDIV, the romance between Taiga and Ryuuji wasn't random or rushed. Throughout the entire series, whenever Taiga was depressed or lonely, Ryuuji would rush to her side.

No, it was a progression throughout the anime throughout he cared more for taiga as she did him but didn't want to admit it then in the end they finally realize it within themselves.

It doesn't make any sense all that speech minorin did about Taiga giving up on Ryuji when it was minorin who did that, and then Ryuji who likes minorin just a second ago, poof, starts to like Taiga...
The entire anime was the progression Ryuuji never liked Minori he just thought she was hot and there's a huge difference he knew nothing about the girl and not a single conversation between them felt natural or sincere. On top of that who was he around the entire time? Taiga. He fed her cared for her and was always wanting to be around her. If she was out or away for any reason he expressed (to a severe degree I might add) a yearning for her presence.

@ANDIV (continuation) there was no progression in Ryji and Taiga relationship, while there was between Minorin and Ryuji. It just looks like that when Ryuji and Minorin were on the verge on dating the author just put some lame drama with taiga. All Ryuji ever did on the anime was doing what other characters told him to do, in the end, he just went with Taiga cuz Minorin entered drama queen mode and piratically forced him to go with Taiga even though he was decided seconds ago he liked Minorin.
I'm not imagining anything, the anime portrayed the story quite well and made reasons very clear. Again you're still taking their words at face value, there were no actions which made you think that Ryuuji and Minori were meant to be. To claim this fact over just what they say shows your lack of human experience and understanding of what emotions are. You're also exclaiming your ignorance after less than 10 episodes I could've told you what was to happen based on Taiga's/Ryuuji's relationship.

Oh man, when I first watched Toradora I thought that this is your ordinary Slice of Life - Comedy anime.
The earlier episodes were pretty ordinary, lots of comedy here and there.
But at the later episodes, tensions and emotions kept building, I'm overwhelmed (starts at around episode 17)
Truly, one of the best anime of all time. My second favorite so far (First one is Clannad:After Story btw)

@Powergirl5591 [Spoiler Incoming!!!] I suggest you to watch the anime instead of reading the following....
Taiga (small girl yelling) fainted during a school trip and got carried by Takasu. But she woke up a bit on the moment and thought to be rescued by the other guy. She then says that she likes Takasu.. without knowing that she was talking to him. In this scene, she don't want to tell her true feelings because she wants her best friend (red hair girl) to be with Takasu (she likes him too)

@ANDIV @ares5566 I think that both of you have points, and to each their own respectable opinion, but you shouldn't argue over this. Ryuuji didn't want Minori just for her body; it never says that once. They both liked each other for who they are, but Minori was too hesitant. And to ANDIV, the romance between Taiga and Ryuuji wasn't random or rushed. Throughout the entire series, whenever Taiga was depressed or lonely, Ryuuji would rush to her side.
Now, the anime did start as a book series

No, it was a progression throughout the anime throughout he cared more for taiga as she did him but didn't want to admit it then in the end they finally realize it within themselves.
In fact I believe that the only reason they still claimed to like the people they said they did was to have a reason to be around each other.

It doesn't make any sense all that speech minorin did about Taiga giving up on Ryuji when it was minorin who did that, and then Ryuji who likes minorin just a second ago, poof, starts to like Taiga...

The entire anime was the progression Ryuuji never liked Minori he just thought she was hot and there's a huge difference he knew nothing about the girl and not a single conversation between them felt natural or sincere. On top of that who was he around the entire time? Taiga. He fed her cared for her and was always wanting to be around her. If she was out or away for any reason he expressed (to a severe degree I might add) a yearning for her presence.

@ares5566 sorry but it looks to me you are just imaging stuff to fill the lack of explanation about it in the anime. Ryuji cared for Taiga has a older brother would, not lover in any way. Your just making that up about Ryuji only thinking Minorin was hot, he knew her way before Taiga and he stated very well why he liked her, her personality and not just her looks like you are trying to make it look like.

@ANDIV (continuation) there was no progression in Ryji and Taiga relationship, while there was between Minorin and Ryuji. It just looks like that when Ryuji and Minorin were on the verge on dating the author just put some lame drama with taiga. All Ryuji ever did on the anime was doing what other characters told him to do, in the end, he just went with Taiga cuz Minorin entered drama queen mode and piratically forced him to go with Taiga even though he was decided seconds ago he liked Minorin.

I'm not imagining anything, the anime portrayed the story quite well and made reasons very clear. Again you're still taking their words at face value, there were no actions which made you think that Ryuuji and Minori were meant to be. To claim this fact over just what they say shows your lack of human experience and understanding of what emotions are. You're also exclaiming your ignorance after less than 10 episodes I could've told you what was to happen based on Taiga's/Ryuuji's relationship.

I haven't a clue what you point was just there you should try speaking English. The point which they made very clear in the end was that the relationship wasn't happening even when they were trying to force it, Ryuuji had no common ground with Minori and it didn't make sense for them to be together. Also you have to realize the writer intentionally made all other characters unlikeable. There was a dorky guy, an ignorant girl who's head was in the clouds and a flat out bitch.

I've brought up many cases of proof, referencing specific events of the anime and countered every single one of you're arguments which are very few by the way. All you've said is it was sudden there was no progression, which by the way to say that there is the lack of something does not justify not having proof you have nothing to back up your statements. WTF? When I saw this episode, it had different subtitles. Minorin said that she wants Riuyii to chase after her. Not, Im going after her, what are you going to do? WTF! I hate how every episode has different subtitles every time! Its confusing to know what they're really saying! Why cant they just put the real FUCKING SUBTITLES! Not just guess and be like, "I think she said that, so lets just go with those subtitles!" WHAT DID MINORIN REALLY SAY!!!
