There is no real difference I can think of between killing a child 30 minutes before its birth and 2 minutes after birth. Both are developed the same. We agreed it was rationality and sentience that made life worthy of protection and a baby simply is not on the level with other humans even after birth. We must protect potential life at somepoint and to do so only after birth to me seems both extreme and arbitrary.

En utero a chemical is constantly released that keeps the embryo/fetus unconscious. That chemical stops releasing upon birth, and the brain 'switches on' for the first time, and stays on- even when asleep forever after, the brain is functioning in a completely different way.

In other words, the only advantage the pro-choice offers over pro-life is that people can have abortions. Ok, first i believe that abortion should be legal UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES. You can't possibly assume that EVERY single one of the 4,000 women traveling out of Ireland a month did so for an abortion. Also, the amount of women traveling out of Ireland for an abortion has decreased by nearly 2,000 since 2001. I think that only 4,500 abortions now as opposed to hundreds of thousands of abortions before represents a change.

There is no real difference I can think of between killing a child 30 minutes before its birth and 2 minutes after birth. Both are developed the same. We agreed it was rationality and sentience that made life worthy of protection and a baby simply is not on the level with other humans even after birth. We must protect potential life at somepoint and to do so only after birth to me seems both extreme and arbitrary.

I find it weird that most women pro-choice women say "it's my body my choice." I was sterilized at 19 I was of legal age to decide whether or not I wanted this surgery (which I didn't because it was against everything I believed and I wanted a family in the future. I love kids, I would really like to be a mother someday.) but that choice was made for me by family members and doctors who failed to listen to me.

In other words, the only advantage the pro-choice offers over pro-life is that people can have abortions. You can't possibly assume that EVERY single one of the 4,000 women traveling out of Ireland a month did so for an abortion. Its just not beneficial to society in any possible way to make abortion illegal. It will create more prisoners, more women in fear for their lives, more children and families on welfare or in the state system. Older women who thought they were done having kids being forced beyond their means to care for more children OR give them up to the HORRIBLE state system. Just awful. Sorry that is not humane to me. At all.

As I've read through these comment sections again, I see how easily one side becomes extremely angry, prejudiced, name-calling and stone-walling (it goes both ways). It shows sometimes morals that are not backed by logic, but by fear. (Fight or flight) Some of the strongest feelings we have, are based on our own emotional connections to a situation. The thought that we might not exist is a great source of fear. That doesn't mean you can succeed at forcing this fear or emotion onto another.

The fact that some people think the word "innocent" adds weight to the argument shows they themselves believe some lives to be more valuable than others. Innocence is a term completely subjective, same as an adj "pretty" or "ugly" Their own pro-life argument is that ALL life is valuable. ALL LIFE. I seriously don't give a fuck whether someone gets an abortion. But they shouldn't be FORCED to have an unwanted kid. What if she was raped? Do you people know just how PAINFUL birth is? I can imagine women being held in custody, with terrible state level health care, being forced to go through the agony of birth with armed guards holding them down. They will get the lowest, worst possible care, and their children will belong to the state. Worst possible situation. They will be deemed unfit mothers, and never be able to get a job because they have a felony. . .

It is hard to understand how a pro-life person would feel justified in taking away a woman's right to abortion if you reject the notion of pre-natal rights. There is compelling scientific evidence for life at conception (the zygote directing its own integral organic functioning), and certainly at the third trimester for which abortion is protected by Roe v Wade. Pro-life people resent pledging their allegiance to a government which dictates the legality of what they consider to be homicide.

Additionally, every other mammal on the planet besides humans, dies immediately upon becoming infertile. And yet, human women keep living. Menopause is unique to humans. "God" is great.
