He was still gorgeous here..this was 2001...10 years later he looks very different...and he always wears sunglasses now. I think he's had a hard life and it's taken it's toll on his health and his looks. But, he still has that beautiful powerful voice, and those of us who love him still see the old (young) Jay...a living legend.

I've seen him live many times during the past 5 years. He can be a real clown if he wants to. His joking around mixed in with his great voice makes for a GREAT show.

Right after this he sang Cara Mia..and he made some comment about hitting the high note at 60....but he did it. Can't find it on YouTube anymore...still that cute crooked smile..

I wish others (Gary Puckett for instance) could keep doing the old originals as well as Jay does. His voice is still as incredible at 79 as it was in his 30's. Personally, I think he has one of the best male voices I've heard.

@teerod39 i agree with you 100% on booth things, he does have an amazing voice, he just recently sang live, and did the song cara mia and was able to hit every note, i think it was better then when he did it in 1965.

Just watched him 10 mins ago on PBS,10 years later. Can still belt them out. Looks very feeble and is sick , but can still do it. One of the great voices from my era. Thanks Jay.

I have seen Jay in concert when he got older and still can sing up a storm. By the way I had won the tickets to the concert thru WCBS-FM 101.1 the oldies station in the NYC area.

Piroska2010, I am so obsessed with Jay Black since my son introduced "YouTube" to me last week because I have never seen his good-looking face until now! I first heard his song "Cara Mia" when I was 16 yrs.old on a friend's radio, and I could not believe that VOICE!! However,my father was an old fashioned & religious man who thought "Rock & Roll" was evil so I never had records or a Record Player, and over the years could not find much on Jay Black & the Americans up here in Canada.
