stardust... sandman... the graveyard book... american gods... coraline... neverwhere.. good omens.... those are the only books i can remember which were written by Neil Gaiman.
@imamadmad1 Neil Gaiman is probably most famous for the brilliant series of comic books Sandman, but he's also written the novels American Gods, Neverwhere, Anansi Boys, and a lot of other stuff. If your gonna start reading Gaiman, I'd recommend starting with either American Gods or Neverwhere, 'cos they're awesome. DFTBA.
This song is so jokes. I suggest someone make it longer and convince Hank to play the full length version (and include it on another album) because it is honestly so catchy...
So I was wondering why I recognised the name Neil Gaiman, and then I realised it was because when I started writing my "diary" for school in which I can do whatever I want so long as it's not blank at the end of the year.

Little did he know in two months one of his songs would put them on the front page of Youtube and probably the number one most impactful video to Vlogbrothers, Of course I speak of Accio Deathly Hallows, a song I am currently singing in preparation for the movie which comes out very soon.
What are you the chairman of? Craziness? On Scientology Completions list, donations titled Gaiman Family USA are Neil Gaiman. Gaiman is also the source of Mary Gaiman's contributions. Neil Gaiman funds the dangerous cult of Scientology. The Gaiman family are US "Patrons with Honors" of Scientology for 2004 & 2006. According to ex scientologist Jon Attack, Patrons (are) the highest ranking membership of the International Association of Scientologists. Founding Patrons (those who became Patrons by the IAS 20th Anniversary (October/November 2004) have donated US $40,000. Patrons with Honor have donated US $100,000. Gaiman donates BIG money to Scieno.
His father was part of the Church and so was Neil, but I believe that he isn't active in the Church presently. And also, he's Jewish. And I believe that he's observing Passover. Read some of his recent Tweets.
Crimsong, there is no conflict withing Scientology with Gaiman being Jewish. Half of Scientologists are also Christian or Jewish. Neil Gaiman's father had both Jewish and Scientology services. Neil Gaiman is a Big CLAM.
I JUST FIGURED OUT WHO NEIL GAIMAN IS!!!!!!!!!! my brother was reading "the great book of amber" the books 1-10. so i read some, im on the guns of avalon......i dont even remember this episode so...ill kill myself if i dont meet him at some point. which i wont.
Neil Gaiman is a major Scientologist. He was a class VIII auditor, ED of Birmingham Org and Case Supervisor at the Guardian Office. In 1983 he was declared suppressive, but in 1988, FIVE YEARS AFTER THE DECLARE, he appears in graduate lists in The Auditor Worldwide, completing 3 courses. The Gaiman family are founding US "Patrons" of Scientology for 2004 & 2006. According to Celebrity Scientology blog-writer Grahame, Mister Gaiman takes services at FLAG.
And that Helena, Montana song was pretty freaking awesome, but I'd have to say all I can hear in my head is still "HELEN HUNT, Helen Hunt, you make my heart do acrobatic stunts, Helen Hunt..."
Actually he's not a geek. He's a nerd. And to be even more specific, he's a Nerdfighter. And to elaborate on who he is, he is Hank. Hank is a giant ball of mass that absorbs all the suck out of the world, and at the same time, entertains and helps it with his very similar counter part, John. Hope this explanation helps. NERDFIGHTERS!
I also thought Neil Gaiman looked kinda like Morpheus when I first read The Sandman comics. Which Hank owns all of. You can spot them in his current background. Usually.
AGHHHHH THAT'S WHY I HATE HANNAH MONTANA! He didn't say Hannah Montana, he said Helena, Montana, which is the capital of Montana. I live about two hours away from Helena, Great Falls, Montana. And many Montanans hate the fact that Hannah Montana has the name she does because she gives a bad name to Montana, and also, she's probably never been to Montana!
is a happy dance awsome and; if not, could there be an awsome dance? Also if happy dances are awsome than could it be possible that when performing a happy dance you are acctually filling the air and O-zone layer with awsome?
OMG Neil Gaiman! That is so made of awesome! I almost met him in Finland but I didn't have anything for him to sign/money to buy anything, so I decided not to wait in the line. I was so wrong to do that. Good Omens is my favorite book of all time.
from an australian's point of view, that would have to be one of the most pathetically backward and messed up signs I have ever seen. What kind of modern culture would walk around touting guns all day?
ffs... im guessing theres a gun related murder ever few seconds over there, here just about every gun related death (let alone murder!) makes the news because its so freakin rare!
Being born and raised Helena Montana, I'm compelled to comment. It's one of most peaceful places I have ever been. i've never known anyone injured by a firearm. and there are many there that enjoy recreational hunting (part of the draw of living in Montana, I gather) and possess concealed-carry permits as part of their second amendment rights.
it's actually quite friendly there. and that sign was probably more of a joke than anything else. ffs.
i was actually pointing out the stupidity of having the second amendment rights in your constitution. it wasnt ment to come out as an attack on your town, and im sorry if thats how it came across.
seriously here in Australia it is very very rare for someone to be shot dead, in fact it makes national news, not local. but there, in America, how many people get shot each day nationally?
i just think is really backward to for a government to allow such widespread gun use.
there, i am afraid, we must agree to differ. while i'm sure you must have a valid reason to think the second amendment is "stupid", it is a distinctly American right as it came about after the occupying British banned the colonists from defending themselves in pursuit of sovereignty. it is not a right we would part with, even it if is outmoded. it is part of our heritage.
it was a precedent in the global community - but due to profound abuse, has donned a savage luster that seems to offend.
Well that's just it isn't it? Your government is turning a blind eye to the cause of around 30,000 deaths per year, for what I can tell, sentimental value.
Is it not enough to have these weapons in places like museums or gun related educational centres? Must you have them in every house, on every street corner, in southerner's trousers?
anyway i can see my morals against devices used to take human life are not getting through here.
for me, im glad that gun control is taken seriously here in Aus.
presuming that any government can control the will of outlaws, who perpetrate the majority of violent crimes and homicides, is asinine. and an insult to the victims. the government can only dictate honest citizens.
a criminal who wants a weapon, will have one. but if one were to break into your house, enter your workplace, or a restaurant and threaten your family, and threaten those you love how shall defend them? your morals? your high-minded purity perhaps?
The government always has the ability to curve the statistics. Allowing the sale of weapons so freely only makes these heinous events more common. If you feel so strongly about protecting yourself then ok, I'm more lenient, but you have to admit there needs to be very strict, very tight laws put in place to control who gets the guns, how many guns, and what types of guns are available. also where they are sold, buying bullets at the same places you buy candy? that is the real insult, to humanity
there are very tight regulations on the sales of fire arms. you get your very own fbi file and everything. but not many criminals trouble with filling out a form like that.
again, there has been abuse and outrage. but also many laws passed by citizens wishing to better control dangers such as these. not to ban them, but to strengthen the guards upon them.
i do not argue with your point, but my wish is that you consider the idea of carrying, rather than knee-jerk reaction of fear & disregard
i considered the idea of carrying long ago, and the result i came to is the same as it is today, that guns are just another thing humanity needs to be ashamed of.
history would have been very different had fire arms never come about, no doubt. we would be forced to kill each other face to face like our ancestors did. now we can do it without ever seeing the eyes of our enemies.
no, they are not an asset to humanity. rather, a symptom of it. and the enormity of dealing with them falls to the will of their creators.
our violence, in equal measure with our capacity for good has always been the paradox that drives us forward. i do not find shame in that.
I am. I think we should be very ashamed of the mistakes of the past. After all, shame is the first step towards improvement... and that's where our capacity for good shines, as we fix the wrongs of the past not for our own benefit, but because it's the right thing to do. But now we digress to a much bigger line of thought, don't we. lol.
Now as stimulating this is, I'm afraid I have to get back to exam study.
final thought; humanity is flawed. it can improve, but guns cant be part of that world.
i dont think anybody cares if you have a gun, they care if criminals have guns. the system we have now makes it very easy for a gun to fall into the hands of a criminal, that's the point.
furthermore, i do not approve of weapons myself. nor do i believe they on every street corner. the majority are in major urban areas where poverty is high and education is low, and drugs are rampant.
the government regulates the extent to which honest citizens may own and carry defensive weapons. what good is it to take away the rights of citizens to defend themselves so that only the criminals have arms?
there no question that it is a problem. but do challenge our right choose our defense.
I don't, I only disapprove of how you go about it. i don't, and will never *ever* approve of guns in society, on either side of the law. Guns are just another reason why humanity is viewed so poorly in my eyes. The invention of them, the time spent improving them, the rapid proliferation of them. It's just... just disgusting.
I am ridiculously happy to hear you mention the Hugo Awards, I am always excited to here someone mention the Hugo Awards, because most people have never heard of them, which I find rather surprising for the size of the convention they are presented at.
I need to visit Montana.

AGHHHHH THAT'S WHY I HATE HANNAH MONTANA! He didn't say Hannah Montana, he said Helena, Montana, which is the capital of Montana. I live about two hours away from Helena, Great Falls, Montana. And many Montanans hate the fact that Hannah Montana has the name she does because she gives a bad name to Montana, and also, she's probably never been to Montana!

i got the helena song stuck in the head of a boy in my class who used to live in helena lol now he hates me! lol

Only a true nerdfighter such as Neil Gaiman could have so much concentrated awesome inside to say what he did about writing. I wish I was Hank.

is a happy dance awsome and; if not, could there be an awsome dance? Also if happy dances are awsome than could it be possible that when performing a happy dance you are acctually filling the air and O-zone layer with awsome?

OMG Neil Gaiman! That is so made of awesome! I almost met him in Finland but I didn't have anything for him to sign/money to buy anything, so I decided not to wait in the line. I was so wrong to do that. Good Omens is my favorite book of all time.

"Check your guns at the door"
from an australian's point of view, that would have to be one of the most pathetically backward and messed up signs I have ever seen. What kind of modern culture would walk around touting guns all day?
ffs... im guessing theres a gun related murder ever few seconds over there, here just about every gun related death (let alone murder!) makes the news because its so freakin rare!
libbaz 3 years ago
Being born and raised Helena Montana, I'm compelled to comment. It's one of most peaceful places I have ever been. i've never known anyone injured by a firearm. and there are many there that enjoy recreational hunting (part of the draw of living in Montana, I gather) and possess concealed-carry permits as part of their second amendment rights.
it's actually quite friendly there. and that sign was probably more of a joke than anything else. ffs.
cheers
montanica 3 years ago
i was actually pointing out the stupidity of having the second amendment rights in your constitution. it wasnt ment to come out as an attack on your town, and im sorry if thats how it came across.
seriously here in Australia it is very very rare for someone to be shot dead, in fact it makes national news, not local. but there, in America, how many people get shot each day nationally?
i just think is really backward to for a government to allow such widespread gun use.
libbaz 3 years ago
there, i am afraid, we must agree to differ. while i'm sure you must have a valid reason to think the second amendment is "stupid", it is a distinctly American right as it came about after the occupying British banned the colonists from defending themselves in pursuit of sovereignty. it is not a right we would part with, even it if is outmoded. it is part of our heritage.
it was a precedent in the global community - but due to profound abuse, has donned a savage luster that seems to offend.
montanica 3 years ago
Well that's just it isn't it? Your government is turning a blind eye to the cause of around 30,000 deaths per year, for what I can tell, sentimental value.
Is it not enough to have these weapons in places like museums or gun related educational centres? Must you have them in every house, on every street corner, in southerner's trousers?
anyway i can see my morals against devices used to take human life are not getting through here.
for me, im glad that gun control is taken seriously here in Aus.
libbaz 3 years ago
presuming that any government can control the will of outlaws, who perpetrate the majority of violent crimes and homicides, is asinine. and an insult to the victims. the government can only dictate honest citizens.
a criminal who wants a weapon, will have one. but if one were to break into your house, enter your workplace, or a restaurant and threaten your family, and threaten those you love how shall defend them? your morals? your high-minded purity perhaps?
montanica 3 years ago
The government always has the ability to curve the statistics. Allowing the sale of weapons so freely only makes these heinous events more common. If you feel so strongly about protecting yourself then ok, I'm more lenient, but you have to admit there needs to be very strict, very tight laws put in place to control who gets the guns, how many guns, and what types of guns are available. also where they are sold, buying bullets at the same places you buy candy? that is the real insult, to humanity
libbaz 3 years ago
there are very tight regulations on the sales of fire arms. you get your very own fbi file and everything. but not many criminals trouble with filling out a form like that.
again, there has been abuse and outrage. but also many laws passed by citizens wishing to better control dangers such as these. not to ban them, but to strengthen the guards upon them.
i do not argue with your point, but my wish is that you consider the idea of carrying, rather than knee-jerk reaction of fear & disregard
montanica 3 years ago
i considered the idea of carrying long ago, and the result i came to is the same as it is today, that guns are just another thing humanity needs to be ashamed of.
libbaz 3 years ago
history would have been very different had fire arms never come about, no doubt. we would be forced to kill each other face to face like our ancestors did. now we can do it without ever seeing the eyes of our enemies.
no, they are not an asset to humanity. rather, a symptom of it. and the enormity of dealing with them falls to the will of their creators.
our violence, in equal measure with our capacity for good has always been the paradox that drives us forward. i do not find shame in that.
montanica 3 years ago
I am. I think we should be very ashamed of the mistakes of the past. After all, shame is the first step towards improvement... and that's where our capacity for good shines, as we fix the wrongs of the past not for our own benefit, but because it's the right thing to do. But now we digress to a much bigger line of thought, don't we. lol.
Now as stimulating this is, I'm afraid I have to get back to exam study.
final thought; humanity is flawed. it can improve, but guns cant be part of that world.
libbaz 3 years ago
i dont think anybody cares if you have a gun, they care if criminals have guns. the system we have now makes it very easy for a gun to fall into the hands of a criminal, that's the point.
sploogersmoof 3 years ago
furthermore, i do not approve of weapons myself. nor do i believe they on every street corner. the majority are in major urban areas where poverty is high and education is low, and drugs are rampant.
the government regulates the extent to which honest citizens may own and carry defensive weapons. what good is it to take away the rights of citizens to defend themselves so that only the criminals have arms?
there no question that it is a problem. but do challenge our right choose our defense.
montanica 3 years ago
edit that last line - do not challenge our right to choose our defense.
montanica 3 years ago
I don't, I only disapprove of how you go about it. i don't, and will never *ever* approve of guns in society, on either side of the law. Guns are just another reason why humanity is viewed so poorly in my eyes. The invention of them, the time spent improving them, the rapid proliferation of them. It's just... just disgusting.
