@0CET2 in the latest version of FL Studio they moved that to the little partial gear icon near the top LEFT of the VST window. It will swap out the VST graphic for a set up window with a bunch of options. The first page is where you will be able to set the ports as needed. Enjoy. ;)

@multionn On the top left of your Orchestral is the small triangle and the part of the gear wheel (for options). Click on the second and alter the input port to the same you did for your Midiout. Then it works (for me at least)

I know this sounds stupid probably, but i can't see the "channel" control in the top right corner of the Orchestral plugin. No matter what I do, it just isn't there where I see it on your video. Do you have any idea what could be the matter?

@Chirigami you might have a newer version of FL Studio. if you do you have to go to the settings tab in the upper left (it looks like a cog)

@8bitmoomin Ah okay I've never used FL. In any case, you can see that the instruments listed in Edirol are numbered 1 - 16. So just change the port numbers on the MIDI out channels you create, to match those. I'm not sure how that works in FL. I use Cakewalk, in which I have to create MIDI tracks, then as output I select "Orchestral 1" then change the "channel" number, rather than "port", to correspond with the number of the instrument in Edirol. Does this help?

@8bitmoomin I can't change mine either. Not sure you can. Just take the numbers of the ports listed in Edirol (1 - 16) and match up the numbers on the MIDI outputs you create. What software are you using?

@Gerraldinho Had the same problem, click on the settings (the bolt symbol) you can set a midi input port there.

its really easy you basically need to direct fl studio to where your orchestral vst has been installed. normally on your c drive and in VST folder. the best way to work it out would be to do a search on youtube for a "how to install vst in fl studio" video its the same for every VST so just aplly the same to orchestral and it will install

This was very useful, exactly what I was looking for. I didn't use it for Orchestral, because running multiple instances of Orchestral doesn't have too harsh adverse effects on my system, but with Stormdrum if I used two instances without using MIDI Out, it literally would not function, so this saved my life! Thanks!

I had the same problem, I think it's because they changed it in the latest version of FL. Look at the top left of Orchestral for the little cog icon, click it then choose an input port, then click the cog again.

@electrikvibez Go easy on the love, but the only way I found to do this is to (within the Edirol VST window) click on "System", to the right of the pane, then "File", "Save Performance", and it will ask you to choose a location to save a *.ope file. When you open up your project/ song/ whatever again, go back through those menus but click "Load Performance" and open that file. It's fiddly, but not nearly as fiddly as reselecting all of the instruments ; )

@tenpence5 It's fairly simple. When you have Edirol open. Click on the system button on the right hand side of Edirol and click save performance. Then you just type whatever name you want to call your current settings and next time you open Edirol just load that performance.

@Alchameth This is a problem within the VST version of Edirol Orchestral, The DXi version saves all data, including which instruments have been used in the plugin.

lol i know VST's can really murder your RAM lol... the other way around this is to render/export your performances as WAV's then import them as audio files which will free up loads of CPU :)

mate this is a really old video i don't even use fl studio anymore and thats why i haven't updated it.... but yeh its there to help people..... i realise it's faults the reason i highlight is because the video capture software wasn't great and didnt show me using the fl's fuctions etc so i did this to keep people in time with my actions..........other people complained about the lack of sound etc even after i added it in the title... but yeh cheers for stating the obvious

Another way around this is to make the sound you want then export that channel as an Wav file. And then import as a sample i do this with all VST's now and it saves huge amount of CPU. :)

instructions: just ass u would add any VST to your project,.... press channel- add one - look through the drop down menu until u find MIDI OUT and click it.
