Hey man i just finished painting my black controller green and put a clear coat on it. When i put the clear coat on it looked very milky and turned the green very light. will that go away?

@snwman92 it is caused by humidity, the humidity needs to be under 50%,

the way to fix it is to do a light coat when the humidity drops (40%) the paint will react to the chemical and will draw the humidity out and will look fine.

@AccidentalWin8 Im guessing you paint the controller white? and you painted it on a black controller? what happened is the clear pulled the black of the controller threw the white paint and turned it purple. this happens a lot! even to us. best choice is to avoid white. It can get tricky.

@krunkshark You shouldn't put it together yet. After you clear coat it, you should wait about a week before you put it together. 24 hours after the clear coat dries, you should leave it outside in the sun

so promoter 3 -5 minutes in beetween each light coast then wait 5 minutes after the last coast and do a coat in any dupli color you want wait a day then put anothe coast on then say 2 coats is enough you do 1 coat of secondary color wait a day do andother lay of secontary wait a day and then spray clear coat on and wait a day ???? plz tell me if that is right you inspired me to do all this stuff and now that i got the materials i need some more help. I've been having issues with Krylon chrome paint. You can't put a clear coat on it because it turns everything dull and gray. Is there a brand of chrome spray paint that can be handle and don't need to worry so much about scratches and paint coming off? I might try out the Duplicolor chrome.

If I'm using SATIN Paint do I have to use a SATIN Clear Coat?

When I spray the "Krylon Fusion SATIN Black" paint on my controller, it looks glossy, even after 15-20 minutes. Do I have to wait a certain time for the paint to start showing the SATIN effect. I don't understand why the paint looks glossy when it sais on the bottle that it's SATIN!!

Finally, If I'm not doing any masking on the controller, should I still wait 24 hours before I apply the SATIN Clear Coat?

I just did a controller its a FOx racing one it has black sharpie and the fox symbol is over the A B X Y buttons and it says fox on the bottom right. I used this clear coat and its awesome no bumps no stick i would all ways choose krylon clear coat. Thinks this helped out a lot ill use this for when i do my next controller. If you need proof on how good it works ill put a video up if yall want.

OK so im using all valspar paint+clearcoat. i sprayed about 2 coats of clearcoat and 3 coats of paint. there was a part on the front controller that didnt cover all the way (it on the side). how should i paint that little part. i dont feel like putting tape all over the rest of the controller. if i just spray that 1 part will it show a line or anything or should i just put a whole new coat on? please help ik its a lot.

@joshtm2187 the best cure for the sticky feeling is time. let it sit and the sticky feeling should disappear once the paint has "cured"- which is not the same as dry.

@TomDartmouth Its on their website, they sell primer which acts as a pre-basecaot and adhesive, solid colours, and clear coats, plasti-kote is the best, but you must ensure that you clean the controller to get all the oils off before you begin, some people on youtube forgot to this and the controllers turned out very bad

1.) Add Adhesion promoter and let dry.

2.) Apply 1st color of paint, then let dry.

3.) Add tape and apply 2nd color, remove tape and let dry.
