meat is all what tastes better on the best before dates. are you forgetting we use to ( and in some areas still do ) eat meat raw from the animal. the only things that our bodies have not fully adapted to yet is dairy products :)

I have wondered why some items have expiry dates on them, like vinegar and Tums, I used to wonder about pop/soda but thee was a can of Pepsi in my fridge from 1989 till 2005 as an experiment and kinda as a joke, the contents eventually ate through the can on the bottom, modern cans do it even faster, especially if they have been in a cooler full of water for a day or two.

@poopdeloop11 A lot of times that's just because of dried milk around the spout. If you really want to test if milk is good based on smell, pour some out into a cup first and smell that.

Well, it's good to know that the library of canned goods my parents have in the basement from the 1980s and 90s are still edible - I've been tempted on more than one occasion to toss them out cuz half the cans "expired" in 1987.

Today, I found 13 cans of baby formula past their use by date at the commissary, where I work. I pulled them. I have read about a store, which I will not name, that got sued because it sold expired formula. One night, I found 10 cases of formula near their use-by date in the warehouse. Some merchandise has come in expired. I wrote on the case "expired, do not stock".

The powdered cheese that comes with Kraft Dinner(Mac n Cheese to everyone else outside of Canada eh), is pretty safe to use after the expiration date. Only thing is, it will taste like ass. The noodles will be perfectly fine however.

What I'm wondering is this. Is it safe to eat Campbell's "Cream of" soups about a year after the expiration date? I have several cans that expired 8 months to a year ago.

A friendly warning: Do not eat or open Mac n Cheese 3 years after the expiration. It's disgusting. Really. When I opened one last,the macaroni was greenish and foul smelling...

I wouldn't take the chance of eating food nearly that old. You could poison yourself. Howcast likes to sound intelligent, but for the most part it's not, and most of these people have little credentials. Most things in this video the FDA would not agree with such as eggs will last five months after expiration. Bread starts growing mold after about 2 weeks, milk is pretty much unsafe to drink after one week past its expiration, and canned goods are OK for about three months after expiration.
