Alex = Most underrated rock guitar player of all time. Mix that with RUSH not being in the Hall of fame and you get two of the greatest musical injustices of all time in one band.
A true testament to what a band can achieve being solely music driven, and not focus on the fame or the fortune. Still around after nearly 40 years STILL producing music and you still couldn't tell that they are aging while they play, as they only get better
I can't imagine playing this song in the middle/end of a show...neil's got insane stamina...timing...everything. Without question....one the best songwriters/drummers/inspirations of our time.
Alex is up there with Clapton & Page. The virtuosity of SR Vaugn combined with the subtlety of Guilmore. Add in a measure of good old Canadian humour and humility, you almost have to respect the mother smurfer...

The PRS sounds great, but the Gibson SE is what made Alex famous, he used SE much through out their classical albums. The Gibsonn SE had a sound that resonated deeply. The thing that I like about Alex is how he changes guitars frequenty.
Eric claptan sticks to the same guitar, Mark Knopfer stays with his Fender. Every song has it's own sound, Alex is very smart to get the sound right, with different guitars. Alex is the best!!!

Look at how his body flows as he plays compared to other drummers - this is the key to his longevity - he floats around the drums, he does not whizz around them! Oh ya Alex cant be beat, he's got some giant hands though... the neck disappears under his hand. His phrasing is what really floors me, its so bluesy and RUSHy and every thing they do smells of Reggea. All three are an amazing gift to music.

This show was a near-religious experience for me. It was incredibly loud and crystal clear... I really wish they'd play RCMH again. I was sitting in the front row of the balcony, and when the lasers went on at 3:03, they came right at us -- I was totally giddy. IMO, they should have released this show professionally on DVD instead of the Frankfurt show.

I guess they decided that with the appreciation of their music already firmly established, it wouldn't hurt any to set aside a minute of this tune to allow Alex to live out his life long "singing" fantasy
One can see why it was imperative for him to become a great guitar player. Otherwise, he'd still be working his day job at Dinosaur Land
If I were they, I wouldn't take that "firm establishment" too much for granted... a Bronchial-saurus voice like that can kill even Rush's career
