  • i watched this video ( in silence) looked well slow motion is the word and dust just fell to the ground did not look like 1/6 earths gravity how did the get the car there is what i google but interesting i never seen this footage before

  • another vid ruined by shit music

  • Bravo!

  • Awesome clip, well done Alex!

I'm adding it to the Awesome Humanity FB page.

  • How come on these newer space missions don't they bring them back to Earth?

  • @SeberHusky Because we haven't been back since Apollo 17. The push into space had stalled and our generation are letting down our race, too busy debating if they even went. When will we wake up? Mars is staring us in the face while we argue and fight amongst ourselves.

  • This is filmed @ Glamis in California - I've been there

  • Why does the dirt fall back to the moon so fast if the gravity is so low???

  • and the poor thing got left behind

  • From 2:49 and so on, I lost the feeling of scale. How big is that hill (or mountain) in the background? And why are there already tracks in the dirt?

  • What studio is this filmed in?

  • How did the rover transmit images or video from the "moon's" surface? You would need to adjust the antennas angle continuously to point towards earth.

I think they put the umbrella type antenna on that rover to make it look pretty.

  • It's amazing, that the terrain there is ancient, billions of years old. quiet humbling

Where can i get this footage?

  • It's amazing, that the terrain there is ancient, billions of years old. quiet humbling

  • As the rover was let down from the bay most of the deployment was automatic. The rear wheels folded out & locked in place & when they touched the ground the front of the rover could be unfolded, the wheels deployed, & the entire frame let down to the surface by pulleys.

The rover components locked into place upon opening. Cabling, pins, & tripods would then be removed & the seats & footrests raised. After switching on all the electronics the vehicle was ready to back away from the LM

  • Deployment of the LRV from the LM quad 1 by the astronauts was achieved with a system of pulleys & braked reels using ropes & cloth tapes. The rover was folded & stored in quad 1 with the underside of the chassis facing out. One astronaut would climb the egress ladder on the LM & release the rover, which would then be slowly tilted out by the second astronaut on the ground through the use of reels & tapes.

  • pretty amazing for 1960's tech. We could have used NASA's ingenuity to get a usable electric car in the 70's not the 2000's. The modern electric car needs a sizable battery. Where is the 1960's battery on the lunar rover? Seems to have a fair amount of torque, which is something we're just now getting with modern electrics. But you are right, none of that seems strange.

  • @1234474 Modern batteries shit on anything nasa had in the seventies.

  • I think the music gives a surrealistic feel to the whole video. Good job!

  • This Rocks great video thx

  • that is mount hadley were seeing in the background,11000 feet tall, its probably miles away from were they are driving, you cant scale distance well on the moon due to no objects

  • Well fuck, if they landed on the moon in 69 why the hell haven't they set up shop on that thing yet instead of shooting rockets at it from Earth?

  • wow this video just took me to the moon!

  • howd they get the moon buggy on the LM? like did they have 2 assemble it on the surface of the moon or roll it down the ladder? LOL

  • It sort of "popped out" and unfolded from a compartment in the bottom part of the lander. I think they pulled a rope and it unfolded. There may have been some adjustments etc, but it was mostly together.

  • If you search YT for 'deploy rover' you should find a time-lapse film of one mission where you can see how it is unpacked.

  • Martians put it there 10,000 years ago.

  • @westnblu

there are a few videos on Youtube showing it. There is a video of a test on Earth of the moon buggy assembling, and there is a timelapse on the moon of the buggy being taken off the spacecraft and then assembled.

  • @rogerpenna yes thanx 4 the reply its been a while since i commented on this and since have seen the footage u talk bout. But again appreciate your suggestions.

  • @westnblu

    there are videos showing it:

    testing deployment on Earth: ObEjEEfnBj8

real deployment on the moon (timelapse video): q-M5r2OKPNk

  • @rogerpenna yes i have seen this since i posted but thanx anyway 4 your suggestion.

  • Even as a kid, I never understood why there were Lunar Buggy tracks were already visible at 3:05 to 5:00. Seems like the Buggy was traveling a premade path or route it had traveled before. If this is the first time we were on the moon, shouldn't there should be no tracks??? or did they actually refilm a route they traveled on the moon? or was it ALL faked and they forgot to cover up the tracks and the filming on earth. Maybe with the newly discovered footage from Austraia we will find out...

  • Uh... they were returning to the lunar module? that would probably explain it.

  • It was difficult to judge distance or location. So they were probably following their previous tracks back.

  • They were only allowed to drive no farther then walking distance from the Lunar Lander, in case the rover broke down. So the astronauts drove as far as they could then back tracked. I can not understand you conspiracy theorists always trying to debunk the greatest achievement in human history.

  • @endlesswick Do you call that an achievement? Any body can fool republicans for 41 years infact more. All you need is an emotional issue attached to being a "real" american.

  • @forestinfullbloom Yes, I call man walking on the moon an achievement.

  • @endlesswick Astroclowns walking on moon studio.

  • @forestinfullbloom You think the Earth is flat? Ignorance is bliss isn't it.

  • @endlesswick That restriction was relaxed on Apollo 17. The Apollo 17 crew also set the land speed record on the moon as well, a whopping 11.2 MPH.

  • @endlesswick

    I wondered about that.

If it was anything like by old 69 Ford, they would drive to the next crater and the battery would die.

  • the moon landings (all 6 of them) real. belief in fakery is based on ignorance of how it was done. do your homework. dont listen to idiots who dont know better.

  • why don't in "u" only one way?

  • It's hard to get a sense of scale. 3:00 we see a mountain in the distance, but it could also be a hill. In these footages there are already tracks visible in the sand, as if the moonbuggy is on it's way back.

  • yea on way back from the pyramid /\

haha. who knows... never a straight answer.

  • VERY cool Alex.

  • Not fake. Anyone who doesn't believe moon landings are real... are you too scared to leave your home? the universe is bigger than your back yard, yokels.

  • absolutely

  • fantastique achievement of the US - can't believe these pictures are almost 40 years old.

  • Anyone seen movie special effects via 1969? Cheesy would be polite.

This video is as real as it gets.

And if you dig a little you will quickly realize that the conspiracy theorists are not backed up by hard science.

  • how the hell could they fake that?

  • that would be a pretty impressive "sound stage".

  • has man really been to the moon?

  • yes.

  • No way!

  • The buggy came out of the bottom section of the LEM, a complicated folding mechanism that lowered down and then unfolded. They used a pulley system mostly.

  • TELL IT LIKE IT IS.

  • trippy!
