Bro Ive been playing hockey since i was 5 and when we got around high school we found out that alot of single moms and married ones were fuckin coachs and shit, there was alot of divorces and stuff,, Plus i remeber goin out of town for tournament and the car was packed and a couple of the moms sat on our laps, THe team milf ended up sittin on mine and she knew i got hard lol, and she'd joke w/ me always(in a sexual manner), I fell bad for her son cuz she got a divorce cuz of hockey,

Listened for 10 years.everybody knows that this is now the format for his show: Spend 2 mins pimping products like back massagers, beat 2 topics to death for 3 hrs by repeating the same thing over and over, 4 boring interviews followed by 15 mins of idiot emails telling him how great his interview was and "thanking" him for it, no Huge Call yet again, some played out sound clip, callers getting the buzzer for stuff that was acceptable b4 Rome sold out and feared offending his corporate sponsors
Rome's lost it. He's clearly been trying for the past 4-5 years to position himself as some kind of "serious" sports guy like a Bob Costas, and that makes his show suck. That's why he has no more good callers anymore, except for like 3 guys. The oldschool guys gave up on him and if he's lucky they call once a year like Carbone/Shawny. I've been listening since the days of the Huge FAX of the day, back then it was a really good radio show.
I get where you're coming from and, I too, remember the faxes. Is it really "Rome" or the way the world is today? Being PC is what he has to do now in order to stay on the air. I miss the days of Tommy Tolbert, the DiTollas (and the likes) calling in and just tearing everyone up, but it's the age we're in and I think Rome is adapting the best way he can.
As for his "played out takes", I think just the opposite. Seriously, you're still not laughing every time you hear Carl Lewis singing the anthem with Rome commentating?
i can say i agree with alot of what you say, i've been listening since providence picked it up in 98. But how can u blame Rome for the show not being what it was, He has such a huge affiliation, and relationships with many athletes that get continually ripped by the clones. And basically stuff like BOHICA and larry browns crank went as long as they did no more than what 4 5 years ago were b/c of.....i could write an essay on this
