  • More change due to more people resting on a longer history. Nothing surprising there at all.

  • cause we r wasting too much time thats why...its still the same damn 24 hours...we r wasting it to much on entertainment, working etc..its like having money the more u spend the less left in ur pocket..its just the feeling of insufficient ..then comes new brand car, ipad 7 etc draw more money from ur pocket..then blame milky way, cosmic or what eva.. lol..then come new vid "Money Acceleration"..spend hours on youtube n then feels tym accelerate wake up people...hahaha

  • We're still inside the freight train...

  • MINDFUCK

  • this is what makes history so interesting: it’s a runaway freight train on a dark and stormy night!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love TM and take him to be a medium through which the secrets of the universe are translated into something edible to the masses, but I do not understand why he believes this concrescence is going to occur any time soon. Sure, we are always accelerating into the unknown, but I think we will continue delving deeper and deeper into the unimaginable for millennia to come.

  • I saw this first sequence on a dream, no kidding!!

  • Why do I feel like we are going to get shot for listening to this type of thing someday?

  • Lisa Girrard.... beautiful

  • Cosmic. What does that mean?

  • The comments above seem to be pointing out that the world is speeding up because 1. Humans metabolic rates slow thus apparent time speeds up. 2. Lives get busier thus there appears less time to do what you need to do. 3. Human history appears to be less connected with the real agricultural and seasonal worlds. Thus time in all instances is indeed speeding up. But it's not really... See below.

  • @Admiralhall2000 i think its a bit more cosmic than that.

  • Most people think time is a way to describe change. Matter has one arrangement at point A then and different one at point B and so on. But if parallel universes exist (as theorised in Quantum mechanics) then Time is a sequence arranger. All possible outcomes happen. Time is thus an rather interesting illusion.

  • OK, it was my stereo jack plug. I missed the voice over :)

  • What happened to the McKenna Voice over in this? Thanks.

  • Now this is a little odd I think. Time within the space/time continuum does change depending on where one is. It is say faster if one is on the International Space station than say here in Dallas County Texas. Why then could or would time be speeding up? It seems a constant thing to me minus it seems as if it speeds up the older I get. That I think is a psychological thing though. My perception of time has changed through life but I do think time travels at the same rate from say 20 years ago.

  • uh amazeballs.

  • The Timewave is real.

  • @Freiheitskampf88 Amen, good friend...Amen.

  • I was a huge fan of Terence's Timewave Zero theory. But then 9/11 happened, and our economy tanked in '08, and all that hope seem to go right out the window. I'm sure that some will say that it is this very same set of negative historical events that is part of the eschaton, but I'm not so sure anymore. 2012 ain't lookin' like it used to be. :-/

  • and what i said has nothing to do with acceleration perception actually lol

  • time orientation is psychological the human brain is conditioned by the direction of entropy, which is the direction of time we choose to follow even our clocks, compputers etc. are based on this principle, everything happened (at once) and imaginary time is fucntion of spacial distance ...or something like that, think my wine is getting to me :p

  • Im sorry this music is too much, HOW CAN I SHARE THIS INFORMATION TO NON STONERS WITH THIS RIDICULOUS MUSIC PLAYING?

  • @tacojuan - thanks taco, but I have recently transcended old habits - i.e. giving a shit

  • @Evasius love it lol

  • @tacojuan why would you want to relay this to your nonstoner friends?, why do you have non-stoner friends?

  • WHATR A BUNCH OF BULLSHIT, IF YOU CANT DAZZEL EM .......

  • why the music is so loudy..its difficult to understand what he says for ppl who are not the main language is english..

  • @Evasius on twitter

  • Comment removed

  • DEAD CAN DANCE

  • Mckenna is always interesting to me but this background music I can do without.

  • @inmanus waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • @Evasius He posted the link on Twitter a while back.

  • Overall, acceleration is a mathematical rate measurement and a rate is only a rate when you have two variables to quantify a relationship between the two. You cannot establish a rate with 1 variable and thus it is false to say that time is increasing with respect to time which is what time acceleration would mean

  • His argument is pretty much equivalent to you saying 50 pounds is becoming heavier each day or that 12 inches is becoming longer every day.

Time can change at an increasing rate, but it needs to change with respect to some other measurement. Time cannot change with respect to Time by mathematical definition just like distance cannot change with respect to distance without the addition of an addition variable such as time to quantify the rate change.

  • Sorry his argument doesn’t make logical sense, Time by mathematically definition cannot accelerate.

Definition of Acceleration: the rate of change of velocity over TIME.

Definition of Velocity: velocity is the rate change in position with respect to TIME.

You cannot by definition have acceleration of time as time is the measure used to characterize acceleration.

  • @rupps98 This means the rate of change is speeding up more than time its self is going faster, think about history and this makes sense. Like more has been invented and discovered in this past century than has been in the last two centuries, that's what hes talking about. It also makes sense because after each mass extinction life has evolved into more complex forms even faster than before.

  • @brianz1214 , No that just means we are doing things faster with respect to time. More is being invented and discovered simply due to population growth and our ability to gain efficiency with each day. He should call it something other than time acceleration

  • @brianz1214 ...I think you need to be more clear when you say the rate of change is speeding up. Mathematically when something speeds up or a rate increases it must increase with respect to a variable. So when you say the rate of change is speeding up more than time its self please explain what the rate is changing with respect to ____ ?

  • Joe's top teacher here.

  • @magla345 and they ate your braincells first ?

  • koyaanisqatsi

  • People like this need to gain popularity in this world and take us to a better society.

  • @AdamFTAOH I'm sure Terrance would have, had he not passed in 2000

  • @AdamFTAOH

Mckenna changed my life and the very way I perceived reality... since then I found Tom Campbell's theory of everything a few months ago, check it out on youtube. Reality is virtual, consciousness is the fundamental reality. Mckenna called a similar sight in his talks towards the end of his life. It explains everything. Pass it on.

  • Excellent video. If you want to hear this without the background music, search for "Eros & The Eschaton."

  • Please re-post, without the Dead Can Dance. It adds absolutely nothing positive to this video.

  • @rr7firefly1 That's subjective. To some it might add something positive.

  • God bless Terence, a man of knowledge, ignored by the main stream, who had more common sense and reality in the tip of his little finger then all of our world leaders combined...

  • DUDE !!!

A runaway freight train on a dark and stormy night. That is like hearing pink floyd for the first time on lsd smoking weed with big ass headphones out of a tape deck and no such thing as a cell phone or internet to distract the experience. LOVE it. 1994 was the shiiiiit.

  • Drats! I really want to hear this but the music is so loud I can't stand it

Love Dead Can Dead . . . but this loud and behind Terence McKenna. What were they thinking? DOH

  • The music is "The Host of Seraphim" by Dead Can Dance. Really amazing music. Anyway, if this contributes to the discussion, I define time as, "an artificial measurement of change."

  • Just wait for the white light to kick in when we enter the angles of the circular infinity curve

  • Too bad he never read the bible and thought about how it would resonate with what is going on. Although, there is a little bit of truth in most religions only put in different words. Funny to tell one of them to all groups and some just freak out not recognizing it because of their different language. Hmmm. Interesting.

  • Space is expanding...everything we can see outside of our solar system is moving away from us, and the speed at which it is all expanding is accelerating.

In other words, this video makes perfect sense to me.

  • doesn't time travel at a costant? And would contradict the chart of the Yi Ching. If time was already non linear then how would it be charted, and then be unable to be.

  • @hardXcoreXrainbow No. It doesn't. Time doesn't "travel", it is a dimension just as the three spatial dimensions are. And it is by no means a constant.

  • @chopper421 Joe Rogan is the pinnacle of banality.

  • anxiety

  • Time is really speeding up. It's like 2 hours feels like 20 minutes or something... The whole reality feels like dejavu. These days seems too familiar, like this has happened before. I don't know what exactly is happening, but something IS happening for sure.

  • as a childwe enjoy every moment of life, as we age we expericene things more often so our brain will process it as unecessary info so we do not experience it, we dont live every moment we only constantly experience things that are new to us, if we try to see things as they totatally brand new to us time will surely seem slower as we live in each moment

  • I encourage you all to check out a documentary titled Quantum Activist. It forever altered my perception of the world, people, and the universe. If you have a Netflix account it's available on "watch it now". I'm bookmarking this video because I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on the documentary, and I'm curious to see if it did the same for you as it did for me. Feel free to drop me a private message about it.

  • does anyone know the name of the original video the footage in this video was taken from? i have seen it before. great timelapses.

  • It's weird that people get so pissed over the music. I think it enhanses the beauty of the words. Makes them more theatrical.

I've been pretty high this past week. It makes me understand not only what Terence was talking about but perhaps how he came to these conclusions. It's a shame he's gone. But the message lives on in light and sound.

  • music too loud..duh

  • This video is really good! I haven't heard of Terence McKenna until today, while just surfing. This bring a point that really taunts me! Time is going by very fast! Is it because we are getting older and moving closer to the other side where time does not exist, meaning behing with God or is there something going on in the Cosmic universe? Indeed, something is happening because time is accelerating indeed! I am sure i am not the only one who feels this on a daily basis!

  • @faithandfreedom Terence is a real genius when it comes to speaking about the unspeakable, i really hope Terence messages will start to hit the masses, rather than a small majority as in the past. Alan Watts,Robert Anton Wilson are also great on this subject.,

  • Usually I would complain about the music being too loud, but Lisa Gerrard's music could make baking cupcakes seem dramatic and emotionally epic.

  • As per usual some asshole put the music too loud and drowns Mckenna out. I wish people would stop doing that.

  • @Robikus sorry dude, i like this one

  • @yoseph89 Well, to be clear, it's not the choice of music but the volume I take issue with.

  • so has the earth speeded up moving round the sun quicker

  • One of my favorites, he is loved and missed.

  • Is time moving faster or is our perception of time faster.. or is there a difference?

1 minute is 60 sec. no matter how you look at it. I think its perception.

  • @Edzelo The difference lies in how you measure your time. According to the madeup concept of external time in the form of a wristwatch or according to the internal natural clock. The wristwatch can tell you as much about your evolution as a streetlamp can, so yes 1 minute is and will always be 60 seconds. That aside, perceived time seems to be speeding up - the consequences of which we can only speculate in and results we can only contemplate in hindsight.

  • @Edzelo natural time is speeding up which is our perception, the time we follow is fake.

  • @stevemay203 Very true, using the Mayan - 13 Moon 28 Day Calendar is a tool for aligning with natural time. Google it to get more info, there are also some videos about here on Youtube.

  • @Immortalarmys we dont need idiot like you

  • duuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!

  • Mckenna is a great mind and i believe in much of what he says. But, his voice is mad creepy. He sounds more like a child rapist than a futurist, skeptic, etc.

  • Did he give a reference to IMF( impossible mission force)

  • thumbs up if joe rogan sent u

  • @chopper421

Rogan is awesome, but you have no idea how much more badass it was to find Terence McKenna unexpected one day in a bookstore.

I picked up Food of the Gods, life has never been the same.

  • 10 people can't lose the ego.

  • lay off the dope once in a while

  • @williamhayes26 He's dead...asshole.

  • @dronevalleykk its your* not you're IRONY

  • абсолутьная! сто персент! быстре космос - наш дом. наш деты. спасибо за пость.

  • @dronevalleykk "you're" spelling sucks aswell buddy ;)

  • if your on twitter share some links with the #TMweek hashtag to celebrate the like of Terence McKenna!!

  • Thanks rogan.

  • @wakejax Thanks McKenna, more like it. A lot of Joe's ideas come from Terence. So it should be the other way around.

  • wtf at 3.04?

  • I think the passing of time and the feeling that it is moving faster is greatly influenced by our understanding of time. This means that at 10 years old our universe is 10 years deep and we are only able to imagine 10 years. at 50 years old, the same 10 years that we once knew as our entire existance is now only 1/5th of what we know. Because of this, an hour, a second, a day, any increment of time holds a different percentage value on our own perception of time.

  • Drawing a long bow there.

  • joe rogan

  • the soundtrack sucks and it's way too lowd and noisy

  • An extraordinary edit. Thank you.

  • True Story: Time had Slowed Down as I was Manifesting a Turd, It seem to take forever to come out of my Black Hole, "But't Then" "Time" Must have sped up,because my ol'lady Banged on the door..."saying" You been in There All day! ..I must have Been in a "Turd-Warp" ..........True Story.......de'nt..de'nt...dennnnn

  • Why does everyone always add stupid fucking music to their videos?? Why?

  • maybe i'm missing his point, but i don't necessarily equate "acceleration of time" with "acceleration of change."

  • @slooash What is time if not the changes in one moment compared to the next? Sitting in a sterile room where nothing changes, time is dragging like it would never see another day - compared to a sunny day at an amusementpark where suddenly you find yourself back in your own room the same evening and the day seemed to go by in a flash.

  • What is missing here is the other side of this acceleration perception is that as things go faster and faster ~ there is a state of being ~ that may become a new reality ~ that slows down this process within our DNA~ it is in our acceptance of these light waves of being ~ we are able to remember how to live for infinity within a middle ground that can be found within our own hearts and become manifest in all dimensions. As Multi-dimensional beings this was our original plan ; ) xoxox

  • eh.. a fine reader!

  • mckenna was such a genious!!

  • whats the music in this video? its amazing!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The catholic raised TM is for sure inspired by Jesuit Teilhard and Jung. Teilhard's Evolutionary Spiral is important in the (hippy) mind of TM of course revolutionized in the form of "The Great Attractor": as Black Hole, as Psychedelic Fractal and finally as singular End Point Zero.

Aronofsky seem to have personalized TMs End Point in parable "The Fountain" about a scientist, with SHORT OF TIME, and his wife with brain tumor: "Death is a road to awe". Yet mourning was not a theme for TM...

  • @Contextcatcher your opinion is invalid.. you need hat for your penis because of its ugly deformed tip,

    just consider it.

  • @atticusspc Justly invalid? Instead of a censoring condom show a form of your potent arguments.

    Take that upright in consideration.

  • @Contextcatcher dont worry about it, i was jk.

i actually didnt even understand most of what u said, just felt like trolling for a minute there.

  • @atticusspc TNX for your response. Yet it's really intriguing to watch Aronofsky's masterpiece "The

Fountain" and compare it with TM's life and main ideas. When in 2013 nothing special happens in the way TM suggested many people will left behind TM's intellectual rememberence. I'll hope his way of thinking will remain in peoples interest, especial his ideas about language and psychedelics are important for our vision of consciousness. He was a modern shaman but also an outdated fin reader.

  • @Contextcatcher When in 2013 things do indeed happen, what then?!

  • @SKITTZ0 21-12-2012 is TM's endpoint... I'll gave him the benefit of the doubt and wait till New Year 2013. When things indeed happen we will be in a new dimension: a kind of hyperspace. TM wasn't clear about it.

Why border? I find TM interesting idiosyncratic guy: brilliant megalomanic in defending the psychedelic experience, and he made a remarkable prediction as self-proclaimed 'non believer'. But there are several speeches of TM he is more doubtful and even ironical...

  • This is all CIA, jew banker inspired disinformation meant to confuse you stupid goyim and prepare you for death or slavery. He died of brain cancer in 2000. Convenient that he uses all the buzzwords now commonly used. He even used the 12/21/2012 date which is all bullshit. He was used by the CIA in drug control, did what he was told and was clipped when he outlived his usefulness. His entire library of work burned mysteriously in 2007. It is all just mindcontrol disseminated by the jew.

  • @angstotheclown wow you need to get off the computer

  • In January 15, Zeitgeist: Moving Forward will be released. Lots of Novelty to the subconscious mind.

  • @moboh thanks for that i would have never known

  • OK, is it that time is appearing to speed up becuase one discovery gives clues to the answering of several more (Synergy) and because of this we are learning more and more every day at a faster or faster rate, or is time REALLY speeding up? If time is actually speeding is, then this lends credence to the idea that our vibrational rate and the vibrational rate of everything in the universe we experience is increasing. And if this is true, it is not an end,but a new beginning.

  • I wish Terence were here to witness the internet today

  • :)

  • YEAH GREAT JOB!!!!!!

  • What's the song called?

  • @evenshadow dead can dance host of the seraphim

  • TY for uploading Evasius.

  • Hello to all, interesting stuff from Terence McKenna, if you liked this also check "Sean Carroll on the arrow of time" (i saw it on ted)

By the way can someone please tell me the name of the song playing in the background ? or anything like it ? it's very relaxing music

  • ''While trying to remember where this all began, someone else shall be there

    through the endless years''

Right!...Change is accelerating. Time is speeding up gradually and one can really feel it.

  • /watch?v=juEAjsdUwqo

  • 5 people can't accept the fact that time does speed up as you get older.

  • This gives me goosebumps, because I recently came to a similar conclusion. (sort of) Why does time seem to go more quickly as we age? Not just a "perceived" speeding up of time but an actual acceleration like what Terence is talking about. I believe that "the other side" moves at much higher speed and that we move slugishly in this reality because of our physical form. I think that time passes more quickly as we get closer to passing over. Maybe mankind is in the process as a whole. ?

  • @BNotAffraid Perhaps, we do because there is MORE of it. The other side is all time, all things. It moves in a cascade of all potential and potentials (of which I intend a difference). Not only are we denser, but we also don't have nearly as much information as that side does. Think about the spectrum of light we can see. So, yes, I have no doubt that you are right.

  • @BNotAffraid I believe that time feels faster as we grow older because the older we are, the more time we have experienced, which means that intervals of time seem shorter. For example, If someone is 10 years old, 1 year is 10% of their life, so 1 year seems like a long time. Hoever, if someone is 50 years old, 1 year is only 2% of their life, so it does not seem as long.

  • @BNotAffraid mind=blown

  • @BNotAffraid

Not trying to preach, but this exact concept is explained in islam. (I like to study all the "major" religions.)

  • Fast evolution isn't special when you read old mythical stories: identites or situations could chance very fast in countless shapes. These stories reflects the feeling of danger: power hides dynamics. Read the stories of Homeros. Don't confuse apocalyps feeling (growing amount of people, economic depression or nature disasters etc) with a total concept of time. Humans always had a fear of disaster. Paranoic state of mind is nearby a realistic one. That's the trouble: each year could be '2012'.

  • GOD DAMNED MUSIC

  • Without us or our universe time still exist in a way we don't measure here. Our feel of time is also related to people, look at the vid: it's about a mass of people, that's no accident. We are aware of others: there are non stop shapes of mass in our mind. The mass of our own body signs also time. We feel time differently when were're young. When we feel mature time speeds: making plans we don't want to waste time. When we feel old waiting for death time is slow. Our word time is a whip aerial.

  • With expanding Universe TM is also aware of accelarations in our society, but with his speed of words he exaggerates this feeling. That's is a symptom of 'mass feeling'. He sees and feels a lot. Drugs make image stuff like a mass in mind. Taking an hike quiet alone from the main road create a distance to usual things. Mass has uncountable shapes: our vocabulary is a form of mass. Mind with silence words can setup our feeling of time, like a meditation or wise like a countryman: domestication.

  • @Contextcatcher What?

  • ill ish check ------""physocological word play with no metronome""

  • @rico010589 Physocological?

  • Time is an illusive concept: not time accelarate, our consciousness of time is changing. When we are in a city and work hard time seem to go faster, but when we are at rest in the country time seem to slow down. That's why desserts are special place to be. Prophets went to lonely places to meet their eternal. No not time is chancing but humans are growing faster in numbers. People aware of their growing amount is driving and pushing us: the ratrace of masses. feeling time is a function of mass.

  • @Contextcatcher I believe time is literally accelerating.

  • @kid43332 Go to a dessert, without radio, television, mobilephone or other media which give you a possible contact to other (large number) of people. After a while you have a different feeling of experience time. Alone without a mass of people you losing touch with time of the world. I think TM underestimated this effect. Read Don Delillo's recent small novel: "Point Omega". A fine book about human perceptions and time. See TM notorious on You tube: "World made of words". Time is language...

  • @Contextcatcher O.K. We all have different opinions, but I completely agree with Terence, I don't think he underestimated anything. Peace. =)

  • @kid43332 Terence Mckenna coudn't fail? I can't believe that. But when we reaching 2012 there will be al lot of debating about the facts. The hardline believers always, whatever happens, will set facts on TM's timewave line: he coudn't be wrong. I believe his line is too soft for interpretation of humans in realtime. TM had a commanding way of thinking urged by shamanic apocalyps feeling, but we humans are at any time in danger. Our universe, our earth, our life hides 'suprises' beside lines.

  • @Contextcatcher Yes, Terence was a respect ethnobotanist, author, public speaker, psychonaut, feminist...he has hundreds of videos on the Internet...how many do you have? Come on man, be respectful...seriously...this is pathetic....

  • @Contextcatcher I didn't say Terence couldn't fail...I repeat...be respectful to your superiors...ANYONE on Youtube who is a Terence McKenna listener will agree with me here...be respectful man, be respectful...have some respect....

    respect.....respect....is that clear?

  • Comment removed

  • @kid43332 Real friends give each other frankly piece of mind. I respect TM in rememberance like a friend as if he's still alive. I listen to his ideas very seriously. His vision, special his ideas about language, intrigues me. But his megalomanic vision about the past and the future must be argued in realtime. For me he was a tragical victim of modernity: information overload. No question about it he had an impressive smart personality. But responsible prophets impose me more with less words.

  • I think it's confusing for some to suggest that time itself is accelerating, when in fact it's the rate of change in the timewave which is accelerating.

  • I think part of the reason progress in any field of technology happens exponentially faster than in the past is a combination of using tools that are continually developed to make any given process more efficient, therefore freeing up human resources for other tasks, and the increasing world population. For example if the goal was to build a house with ten people and basic tools, how much faster could you build it with 100 people and advanced tools?

  • this is awesome. im falling into it as it goes

  • the music is too loud in the mix, the voices are at a similar frequency and cancel each other out. You can't focus on either.

  • He will always be my #1 favourite orator, he has added so many pieces to the puzzle.

  • Nice little video you got there.
