how about all the games where Favre won the game for his team? Favre is the reason the packers made it to all those playoff games, without him there is no way we would have done it. Yes he takes chances but 508 times those chances worked
@WarEagle140 But it wasn't just Favre that got the Packers to those playoff games. There were 52 other guys who sweated and worked their ass off to get there too. The Packers were the best team in the league from 92-07 and that just doesn't happen EXCLUSIVELY because of the QB. And that doesn't even include the coaches and scheme that make a difference too. Outside the "great years" 95-97 Favre had a 77 QB rating in the playoffs, including a 62 QB rating in 8 exit games w/ 20 INT's. Just Bad.
@copraiders1 um, he has 44 playoff touchdowns, second only to Montana who has 45... I would say that is pretty damn good, especially in the 90s... maybe not so hot in the post holmgren days besides in 07 and 09 where he played well in the playoffs
@WarEagle140 He had three pics against the Cowboys, six against the Rams, he had the pic in overtime against the Eagles, he had the pic in overtime against the Giants, he had his two fumble/1 pic/missing a wide open receiver in the Super Bowl against Denver, he had the last second pic against the Saints to cost his team a trip to the Super Bowl. The guy chokes in the playoffs.
@copraiders1 go watch highlights of that Rams game and count how many were his fault. 4 of those passes were tipped by a wide open receiver so thats not his fault, the other 2 were his fault. Super Bowl 32 was not his fault we lost, Holmgren stopped running the ball in the second half and got out coached on defense. The game against the Saints, did you watch the game, 6 fumbles by his team that were not from him and that pic only sent the game into OT, it wasn't like a pic 6
@copraiders1 go watch highlights of that Rams game and count how many were his fault. 4 of those passes were tipped by a wide open receiver so thats not his fault, the other 2 were his fault. @copraiders1 not to mention the missed calls by the refs that would have given the vikings the ball around the 15 yard line in the 3rd quarter i believe which would result in at least a field goal which would result in no OT and the vikings win. you put too much blame on the QB when there are factors out of his control taking place. He kept the vikes in the game despite all the fumbles his teammates were having and you should blame the vikes D for not stopping the saints in OT
@WarEagle140 Oh Adrian Peterson played awful, but all the bad calls don't change the fact HE CHOKES IN THE PLAYOFFS DURING CRUNCH TIME. Again if I only had one QB in the regular season I would take him. In the playoffs, I would probably take AT LEAST ten others.
@copraiders1 if the ref would have called at least the most obvious personal foul in the game (the high low hit that busted Favre's ankle) we wouldn't be having this conversation and the Vikings would have been in the Super Bowl. Or if Childress would have just kicked the 51 yard field goal when he had the chance instead of having 12 men in the huddle, we most likely wouldn't be having this convo cuz Longwell is automatic, especially in domes. Again, Favre is second in playoff TDs
@copraiders1 Look what happened to the Packers the year after Favre left. And if you threw in a decent quarterback (Painter is trash, Kelly is washed up) and that team goes at least 8-8. The Colts management is stupid for not preparing their back up quarterback like every other team does and it bit them hard. Now, Manning is most likely done and Luck will most likely be a Colt. Maybe they will learn from their mistake and put some time in with the back up QB next year. We'll see
@WarEagle140 Actually it may not be a mistake. They will most likely go from one hall of fame franchise quarterback to another! My team hasn't had a franchise QB since 1986!
@copraiders1 if Luck is as good as they say.. Remember Ryan Leaf and JaMarcus Russell. And what team is your team? I'm lucky enough to have Rodgers follow Favre so we'll be set for the next 10 years or so, so we had 20 years of an elite Franchise QB..
I think Favre was a product of being INATELY good up to a certain level that he didn't work hard enough to be elite. In other words he was physically gifted much more than average, but he didn't have the discipline to work the mental side of the game, or the repetition. To be elite at anything takes great inate skill AND discipline to work the repititions to reveal the subtleties of your craft. So when Favre was presented with top tier challenges that calls for elite play, he only had his basics

I think the west coast offense, which has been the norm for the last 20 years, has clouded people's judgment. Most QBs today will make a checkdown pass, just to avoid an int, even thought it does nothing to help them win. But the QB is happy he avoids the heat and he didn't make the big interception. He gets to keep his job and make a couple million more. Favre is old school. QBs like Namath and Unitas routinely threw ints like that. They aren't afraid of trying to make a play to win the game.
yes, because the mark of the "Greatest QB" is all time NFL interception record, a barely higher than 50% completion rate in the latter halves of most seasons, oh,and only ONE superbowl ring in almost two decades of playing...
Please, he has a greater than 1-1 pick to td pass ratio. BTW if he's still so great, why hasn't anyone mentioned that the average Eli Manning and the legendary Trent Dilfer (who?)have the same number of superbowl rings as the legend? and they havent played nearly as long.

Been a Packer fan since 2001 and totally 110% agree with the video. I love Brett and I realize that in large part because of him we made it to the big games, but also realize he's a big reason we lost those big games
All the Great Hall of Fame quaterbacks who won the superbowl won the mvp award at least 1 time = Starr, Namath, Staubach, Bradshaw, Montana, Aikman, Elway. Young, Brady and on . As a quaterback & leader of a championship team and especially Brett with all his Regular Season Records u need to leave ur legacy as a cluth player in the playoffs when it counts. Brett threw picks in SB 31 Desmond Howard saved the packers
Bledsoe threw 3 picks in Sb 31,Favre didn't throw any know the facts. The Pack blew the Patriots out by 14 and could have scored at the end of the game.
It doesn't matter if it wasn't for Desmond Howard you would have not won the SuperBowl. If Brett would have won the SuperBowl MVP you guys would be all over that too, but he didnt. Brett got Lucky Desmond had the Biggest game of his career and it was the SuperBowl.

he hurt his team so much that he now holds the record for most wins by any quarterback... hmmm... imagine if sterling sharpe had never been injured... he'd have 2 or 3 more super bowl rings for sure... he's not fortunate like peyton or montana... he's never thrown a pass to a hall of famer... GOAT hands down
of all time. hmm probably cuz he's now going for the record of most seasons of all time. his ONLy records are carreer records. he doesn't have any single season records or consecutive seasonal records. he has the most touchdowns but also the most interceptions. it's cuz he's played longer than any other qb.
Obviously you felt the NEED to make this video that has absolutely no bearing on the MAN himself, and I sense the worse case of ENVY spewing from your lips, whoever you are, and the fact will never change, mistakes or NOT (which only makes it that much sweeter) BRETT FAVRE is and ALWAYS be the best QB the NFL has ever had the pleasure of picking up..... NO ONE HAS THE HEART AND THE RECORDS THAT BRETT FAVRE HAS.... NO ONE..... Hope you feel better after making that silly video.
This is why he's not playing with Green Bay today. 16 Years and One Ring. The Packers were good for Favre, but it should have been the other way around. Ted probably told Brett at the beginning of the 07 season that this was his last year. Can't fire a HOF so retire gracefully, but Brett didn't want to personally stop playing. He wanted the Fame and stature without offering the Packers anything in return. He sucked from 99/06 and finally did something when he knew it was his last season in 2007.
I respect this guy's opinion, and yes favre has taken some foolish chances. But I'd like Mr. Cobb to explain the whole "4 or 5 years where he was repeatedly throwing games away." What the hell is that about? No one gets a "free pass" for that...the problem is it never happened. Oh, and that "high punt" against the eagles was Javon Walker breaking his route off & inexplicably running a post when he should've been busting his ass to catch up to the deep ball.
When it matters most Favre will look for the receiver thats farthest down field even if he's under triple coverage...He should take 10 yards by 10 yards...instead he threw it up there during the NFC Championship with the CB right in front of the reciever..he knew it was going to be a bad throw but he thought there would be a chance the reciever would get it and they would be there for the field goal...Favre you're a great Quarterback...but you played like a rookie in playoff games
Regarding Brett Favre, did you know that Brett is not only the greatest player of any sport that ever lived...
but also the greatest American that ever lived, the man who cured Cancer, who invented a Time machine from a Delorean, who saved the World from Radical Islam, who feeds all of the homeless in his spare time. He was also a Piano prodigy, is the smartest man alive, the kindest man alive, and the bravest man ever to have ever lived????
Couldn't agree more with this Favre is without a doubt an all time great qb but this is what keeps him a notch below the likes of Montana, Unitas, Brady and Elway. He doesn't seem to be able to impose his will on other teams the way other greats did in big spots. I dont even think he's the greatest qb in the history of his franchise Bart Starr led the team 5 championships and was a 2 time superbowl mvp
sams1ofakind wht the hell are you talkign about, the packers suck? first we have a better record than you and more super bowls We have had one qb for the past 17 years. how many have you had? liek 20. and at least our qbs dont have to flip a coin to see who practices with the first team. so dont tell me the packers suck. the only reason you got to the super bowl is on your defense which is terrible now. so bears fans jsut shut up and have fun at another loosing season with ur crap team
Yes Favre is a higher risk QB than others but for more years he didn't have an all star team around him so he had to try to make plays to win games. You can play conservative on a poor team and lose bad or you can take a chance at winning. From 99-2006 the Packers never really had an all around good enough team to win a Superbowl anyway...and you need a GREAT TEAM. Dan Marino is proof that it takes more than a top QB to win a Superbowl.

Alot of numbers and records...but only 1 superbowl win.
Just 1 step higher than Marino.
Maybe Green Bay shouldve used their heads and not their egos and worn long sleeves in -0 weather.
