@Rabbitateness Touhou Project is a inde computer game, of the "Bullet Hell" sub-genre of the "Shoot Em' Up" genre. To best get what I'm saying on that, I suggest you search "Bullet Hell" here on youtube as you're bound to find one of the videos being a Touhou project video of actual gameplay. (Most likely Imperishable Night...)

Part of the appeal is in the high difficulty of the games, the fact that most of the characters are girls, the background music for the characters, and these fanvids...

Medicine because, well, Alice makes dolls and Medicine wants to liberate them, and Alice because pretty much ALL of her magical researches (barring the Shashoku magic) are towards the creation of an independent doll... and Medicine, as a doll tsukumogami (object that has attained sapience by reaching its 100th birthday) is the closest thing to one she's ever encountered.
