  • Wow...what a beautiful, haunting song..

  • Great song, wish more people knew of it. Contact me at fxrva2@yahoo.com if you have a clean copy of this; mine is 45RPM crackly. Would also love a clean copy of a similar-era Roy Head song titled "Now you see 'em, Now you don't" written by Sterling Whipple.

  • Roy Head & The Traits played at our Teen Hops in the 60's in Needville, TX. Met my 1st husband at a Roy Head dance. Roy also played in Riverside Hall in East Bernard, TX. Seen him a couple of years ago at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo BBQ Cookoff. He was & still is great!!

  • Got to see Roy and his son Sudance in Humble this pass weekend. Roy was great!! He still has the voice and he still got the moves!!

  • OMG BEEN LOOKIN FOR THIS FOREVER

  • Tommy Welch's Wells fargo club where he was the house band!

  • Washington County, Texas. I remember Roy Head and The Traits at Prairie Hill and Gay Hill circa 1960. Those were great years

  • Pure Country.....The Urban Cowboy Days rule!!!

  • This wasn't from "The Urban Cowboy Days". That was starting around 1980. This was from '77. I don't agree that the Urban Cowboy sound was at all good for country music, though. But I respect your opinion.

  • True, but Roy was still playing the song at his night club.

  • Roy was playing this song at WHOSE night club, Steve? Do you mean Mickey Gilley's?

  • What about the Urban Cowboy sound don't you think was good for Country Music? I loved the music from that era. Johnny Lee's " Lookin For Love " is a Classic that is still played today and I don't think that Mickey Gilley gets enough credit for his contributions to Country Music. What was really no good for Country Music was the Garth Brooks era. He brought a lot of new fans who weren't really Country fans. When Garth mania died down....(.I'll continue in next post)

  • @Clint8179 I HATE "Lookin' For Love"!!!!!

  • ..In order to keep all the new fans ( who weren't really Country fans to begin with) the powers that be in Nashville decided that they would have to change the music to do this. So, we are left with the crap that is played on so-called Country radio today. Music that is aimed toward soccer moms and teenage girls. And it really suck!!!...lol

  • Do you have and can you post Roy Head's 'Puff of Smoke' or 'Got Down On Saturday'?
