  • YAY too bad the corporations only seem to mainly hire illegal immigrants that take their money out of country and spend it on illegal drugs they import and sell to the children and all that cash gets pumped right back out of the economy...sad but true..we have 12 factories in the town I live in all with 100% illegal immigrants working for them. citizens are blacklisted they will give you excuses like were not hiring but then you will see a advert in the Spanish newspaper for jobs its B.S.

  • xlioilx:

If you actually believe that to be true, why not start an "unemployed worker's union" and start some pressure tactics?

Or call immigration and have the companies raided?

  • they have been raided a few times but they still keep hiring Illegals. they dont care about some little fine and a slap on the wrist

  • The fines need to be greatly increased, and the owners imprisoned.

  • xliolx:

So rather than blame other working people who only want employment--just as you do--what solutions can you figure out so that you and others in town will have access to more employment?

Do you want to lobby for higher fines? Regular inspections? Force those companies to hire from a pool of "union" workers?

  • well yes to all the questions below they have upped fines to $10,000 per each illegal in counties near here and started to give out jail time to CEO's and its taken the unemployment from 7% down to 2% its also taken down the crime rates the people that are here illegally need to be deported it hurts the economy for all the legal citizens and legal immigrants that are trying to make a life here and not ship out all their money to other countries.

  • xlioilx:

So it's getting better where you are?

  • no they don't fine people or anything it's horrible..

  • xlioilx:

    See your comment below?

    I'm confused.

You said there that the fines have been increased and CEO's are going to jail for violations.

    Explain please...

  • I was talking about a county near me not the one I live in

  • I think Insourcing is awsome because you can bring in a Forigen countries cultures and customs, and I think thats awsome, Look at AJE is out of Quatar, but its global as well, Love live AJE in America

  • Bring in too much and its cultural genocide.

  • As oil and transport becomes more expensive, companies are going to have to base locally.

The positive part is workers laying aside their preconceptions and getting some global experience:)

  • What does it matter if they have preconceptions? If these people werent in the country, it wouldnt matter.

  • munkeeguy:

Preconceptions are one of the reasons war starts.

If we perceive another nation's citizens as "other" or "less than" instead of part of our experience, it becomes easier to denigrate their needs as less than our own.

  • "Needs" are the reasons wars start, and people inevitably put their own needs above others.

  • munkeeguy:

"Needs" are rarely the reason wars start.

"Needs" can often be met by negotiation. Eg: I need your oil, you need my food. Now we can work something out.

Americans did not "need" to be in Afghanistan or Iraq.

Preconceptions of "otherness" allow powerbrokers to con the public into allowing wars, genocide and other atrocities that don't benefit that average citizen.

Breach that barrier and it's much harder to manipulate to the populace.

  • Needs can be met by negotiation, but negotiations dont always work.

I agree, the US did not beed to go to war in Iraq, but we thought we did, not out of some desire to bomb "otherness" (if that was the case we'd beat war with every country on the planet) but out of a need to feel secure.

  • munkeeguy:

The American citizenry was bamboozled that the war was out of a need for security but I think you see that the real reason was not.

It is harder to get a soldier to kill someone if s/he sees them as equal. That's the only point I'm trying to put across. Makes the bamboozle job more difficult.

  • Still without the perceived need for security, no war wouldnt have taken place. If the US gov't said "They're different!" very few wouldve thought it a justification for war.

Besides, you can see someone as equal, and still as different. Im no fan of globalization. I dont want multiculturalism and diversity everywhere at once. The world is diverse, different parts of the world can be different.

  • munkeeguy:

What Bush *did* say and was repeated over and over was that Iraq was full of "Islamic terrorists". How many people bought that? Yet Iraq is primarily mainstream Muslims [sort of like the United Church Christians].

I too believe sovereignty is important for countries.

I prefer the 'salad' idea of diversity rather than 'melting pot' of assimilation.

I'm addicted to tandoori chicken and Caribbean roti not McDonald's *chuckle*

  • A lot of people bought that Iraq was full of terrorists, for three or four years after 9/11it sold well.

"The Salad Bowl" wont work without distinct "cultural hearth" regions for relatively homogenous populations. Cultures will mix, minorities will be absorbed, its inevitable.

  • It brings forth opportunity! Its a good thing. Its a good positive story from the news channel.

  • These are McDonald Style Jobs Great for America.

  • Good report! Good job!
