You would do this on a small job and if you have register problems between the 2 grippers.....

Actually this way the press inks twice, but each sheet only runs through once, so no register issue. I only ever run with guides anyway ("hairline" vs "commercial" register) and when I do run things through twice, it's always in perfect register as the press is luckily in very good shape. Only have trouble with this if the sheets are completely wonky from humidity, etc.
