5D works as a starter (great for getting the timing right since flashbuffer 5D = success) You can then follow up with: 6D 6D 6D 2D 2D (if you're close to the portal shooting the swords at you) You can do the following off of j5D: j5D j5D j5D 2D (maybe 6D 6D as well, couldn't get it to work yet though) 5D has startup, thus can't be used to follow any D-Counter Oh, and you can replace any followup with Yukikaze.
Yeah, Zanshin is incredibly good. the only reason it's not great is because Haku doesn't have the ability to consistently follow it up. I'm not sure if you also play BB:CS, but I have a buddy who's getting really good with Hazama. I 2D'd a low poke, which he saw, so he RC'd and tried to do Hotenji... Apparently, the catch still took and he wasted his whole bar as the counter also dodged the hit and the counter still went through.
You also have to consider certain angles to which to hit him as well. I tend to use the slide and it tends to work on him. Admittedly, I never really seen Haku use it that much. But when he did, I never had a problem getting a hit on him when he did it for some reason. I guess that's just me.
Thank you for this video! Brilliant work and a huge help. I've been working away at my Hakumen game for about a year, I feel this will help me get a leg up on all the level 70-90s that keep beating me down.
The Arakune is entirely pointless. Best to just barrier block it so the move actually pushes you in the position where you can possibly openly attack him.
It'd sorta work against Noel, I guess. But chances are, they'd probably have to be pretty damn stupid for them to be that obvious with their attacks or, you know, dodge that easily dodgable distortion.
It's useful against Tager if he doesn't combo into the 360 somehow and you can react fast enough when he decides to use it in conjunction with magnetism in order to pressure.
By the looks of it, I don't think it'd work against Carl unless Haku actually hits him with the reversal. Otherwise, Carl could just throw him or jump behind him and trip him up.
I can see it being very useful against Litchi, actually. Since it can easily get him out of the corner since that distortion is mostly commonly used there.
This trick seems semi-useful. The video does a bad job of showing its usefulness.
For instance, if I were Bang and just threw an umbrella I sure as hell wouldn't just stand there. I'd run in and do a throw or something. Hell, even if he activated the distortion I'd have time to jump up and avoid it. I guess he might possibly hit me with the reversal, but he'd still get hit by the umbrella. Same goes with the Nu distortion.
@drewthedude if u get close to hakumen while he is doing the drive counters, u'll just get grabbed/countered by him, u cant block his counter and he is invincible during it.
@drewthedude Yep, basically the invincibility of the catch animation ends just a few frames before the animation itself ends, so there's a very short window where he can get hit, you're right about that. However it's so short that hitting it with a long range move with a long startup just comes down to luck, and you can't hit it with fast moves cause you'd need to be in the catch range. Like i said, this is usefull to prevent lock down mix ups...
@drewthedude ...Like sometimes Nus use their projectile DD even if it's blocked, then get close and mix you up with basic high/low/throw mix ups. All of those are impossible while haku's chaining his drive. And this is true for all of these DDs except those that are not used to lock down but always inside combos, that is arakune's, noel's and tager's DDs. I just put them in there to to show that it's possible to do that. And some tagers will also use the magnetic wheel as an anti air...
@MrMiddleKick ...so you can bait that with an empty jump and go j5D > j5D, so i guess that would be the only use for this outside of lock down prevention.
@drewthedude i doubt it, since the distortions are constantly hitting frame by frame, and haku still doesnt get hit, this proves if done right haku cant take damage while doing a counter drive chain
I've done vs. Nu's one a lot of times but I usually choke for Tager's one. After I see he doesn't get phazed, I give up and eat shit. Should try this out though. Nice vid.
A lot of these supers could have just been Instand Blocked for huge meter gain. Countering Carl's is pretty good though, as it can be annoying to be crossed and mixed up at the same time.
this music is soooooooo, CAPTIVATING

Jw. But when haku multi counters without hitting touching the opponent, does he gain heat for that?

Do any of your match videos showcase this? If not, is there any chance of getting this down in a match to let us see how it works out "for real"?
