  • eric joisel R.I.P

  • Joisels jazz orchestra is amazing

  • I wouldve entered a crumpled ball... I could be the new van gogh!

  • it would be so easy to cheat and do loads of cutting and gluing and wire structuring and whatnot inside the models...because as long as it looks like paper, who's gonna know? they're not gonna check them by taking them apart.

  • Wow I can only build like planes and tanks and stuff that's awesome

  • shots shown so fast, one cannot appreciate details.

  • HOW DO YOU DO A ORIGAMI MERMAID??? :D pleeeaasee tell mee

  • is there a diagram for the flapping butterfly at 5:55

  • hi sara i am a huge fan i just wanted to know if u knew a diagram or video for miyuki kawamuras geosphere?

  • what is that 1:05

  • @MrSTLucho It's a model by Eric Joisel called "Birth" - the dwarf is emerging from the square, and isn't quite completely folded yet.

  • I would love to have been there and picked a few brains!

  • Im mexican and here theres no conventions. :c

  • satoshi kamiya

  • @Zack0777Aran Given that I asked him questions and I recorded it... yes. :)

  • I saw Ryujin and ancient Dragon

  • I saw Ryujin

  • THAT is origami!!!!

  • does satoshi kamiya know any english? ( i'm serious, i'm not insulting him!)

  • @sk84life0704 Yes, he knows English, but I believe he much prefers corresponding in Japanese.

  • @boffyful Check papercrane(dot)org/index/Convention

  • The pangolin is soooo awesome!!!

  • eric joisel the dumb guy

and he seems a bit crazy but still its awesome

  • Bull at 0:59 has a dick :|

  • Omg you are sooo lucky!!! You met kamiya satoshi??? Damn wish I was there. Btw did you get an autograph from anyone??

  • @koreanman113 I've had some books autographed, yes. Probably these aren't all, but at least some: Tomoko Fuse, Satoshi Kamiya, Robert Lang, Eric Gjerde.

  • i like the vid very nice pieces who made the piece at 0:34 and where can i find instructions on how to make it . The model looks so cool would love to add it to my collection :)

  • Eric Joisel passed away didn't he?

  • @ninjanarutochat Yes, he did. :(

  • Great video Sara!

  • 0:21 almost looks like the Leviathan by Tadashi Mori. Btw is there a diagram for the bull by Eric Joisel at 0:58?

  • @aDotFromTheFuture 0:21 shows the Archangel Gabriel by Houyo Takashi. I am not aware of diagrams for Eric Joisel's bull. However, Stephan Weber's bull also looks really nice, and that's diagrammed in Tanteidan 11.

  • @AdamsSara

by 11 do you mean convention or magazine?

  • @uruigi Convention

  • i love the horse at 0:09 where can i find a video of it? o.o

  • @alecuo Check the diagrams section on brilliantorigami (dot) com. I also made a video on that model, but it's not the best (one from when I didn't have much experience with making videos yet). It may help if you also use the diagrams, though. Search my channel for horse.

  • very nice

  • Haha! Eric joisel seems pretty crazy ;)

I mean that in the nicest possible way of course :)

  • where can i fin the on in 0:32?

  • @WiltonAdrianoNeto The flying crane, or the butterfly? Both designs are by Satoshi Kamiya, check folders.jp

  • @AdamsSara the flying crane!! that's it! it's so great. I was wondering if you could make a vid of it?

  • @WiltonAdrianoNeto I fear it's a double-no: I don't know how to fold the model, and Satoshi Kamiya doesn't want instructional videos posted on his models. I respect that wish, so I won't be posting any instructional videos on any of his models.

  • @AdamsSara oh ok.. thanks any way .. :/ Great vids btw!

  • wow and all i can do is freakin ninja stars and boxes

  • you can make any origami models of the convention?

  • can u buy the moduels?

  • @iSkateUK234 Some designers sell folds, yes. They usually come at a price, though. [Remember, it takes time and expertise to fold such excellent models.]

  • @AdamsSara Thanks Do You Know If This Convention Is On This Year And If So What Date?

  • @iSkateUK234 The BOS hosts 2 conventions every year, one in spring and one in autumn. Check britishorigami(dot)info/society/meetings/cons(dot)php for the exact dates.

  • did anyone notice how old most origami masters are?and by the way thanks for showing something of maarten van gelder,i also live in the netherlands but ive never seen anything of his work

  • @nils3881991 Well, to be an origami "master", I guess it helps to have been in the "business" for 20 or 30 years. That gives you a lower bound for the age. Having said that, there are quite a few young, upcoming origami masters. Think of Satoshi Kamiya (probably rated to be a master when he was 17 or so), or Sipho Mabona (28, probably not a "master" - yet, but highly visible and appreciated for his work). There are many others I could list, but those are the two that came to my mind first.

  • adamssara ur not a begginer u make yosimoto cubes roses my friend jt made the yoshimoto cube from ur directions

  • all of the dragons are asome

  • that train is awesome lol

  • can u make all of that?

  • Most certainly not. :) The pictures show models folded by some of the greatest origami masters out there. They have origami skills that let me look like a complete beginner. :p

  • @AdamsSara well all of your fans know that you are not a begginer (: they've just spent alot of years practicing this hhhaa

  • 5:10 ... oh my god I want that dragon! 2m by 2m square packed into an unbelievable piece of art!

Kamio Satoshi is the master of perfection!

  • tyvm because i really wanna know a lot of things about all of these specialists

  • 2:13

  • That's "Birth" by Eric Joisel.

  • I just found this video again. I thought I'd comment then realised, I already had before!

Anyway, thanks again. I really like it. You present everything very well. God bless you

  • lol

  • i could make his dwarf

  • bla bla

  • i know how to make his origami dwarf

  • i wanna make rikki's butterfly

  • what is that wierd origami model next to eric joisels origami mermais to the right and really what is it

  • I think it's one of the things he was experimenting with during the convention. It looks like a body without a head, and only one arm to me. But I have to admit I was puzzled by it too, when I was at the convention. All in all, I think it was one of Eric Joisel's "work-in-progress" models.

  • can you put diagrams for the mask by eric joisel

  • you are so luck to meet kamia satoshi

  • ni i ment 00:59

  • Oxen by Eric Joisel

  • i think it's the Pangolin by Eric Joisel

  • THIS IS JUST AMAZING. where do these take place?

  • por que no hay convenciones asi en mexico :( ojala hubiera mas conocimiento sobre este tipo de arte aqui

  • dont site wikipedia....

  • Thank you for this vid. As a French origami beginner, i will vote for... Eric Joisel! He rocks! Their models have their own style, which remind me French-Belgium Heroic Fantasy comics style.

  • sooo amazing can i ask wat the name for the origami on 0:02 minute? lol

  • That's the Lion Family designed and folded by David Brill (lion, lioness and lion cub)

  • THANK so much :D if it not a problem can u tell me 0:03 as well XD

i love ur origami making tutorial :P it soo easy to follow and it amazing how u can do these , am starting to become a fan now :P

  • Just check the gallery on happyfolding(dot)com and restrict to the convention. Then you can check all model names and designers.

  • THANK YOU VERY MUCH I LOVE UR ORIGAMI and I HOPE U CAN UPLOAD MORE XD

    THANK YOU for uploading :P

  • that is really cool but pleeeease slow the pictures down a bit i can barely see the pictures before you move on to the next one i cant see the pictures clearly

  • Go to happyfolding(dot)com > gallery > select convention BOS 09/2007, and voila you have all pictures to look at as long as you like...

  • i know the butterfly rikki did now

  • what was the name of the thing on 2:48

  • Pangolin by Eric Joisel

  • can anyone find diagrams for rikki donachies butterfly

  • where is the diagrams of rikki donachies origami butterfly

  • Satoshi is incredible.

  • kamiyo satoshi how did he make his scales on his white dragon?

  • he folded it...

just kidding, sorry i don't know, i think he only knows

  • no he did fold it It's an amazing but easy method used to fold the scales. By the way, Dave: I disagree with your diagram statement. using diagrams can help open the imagination to creat something new! I just fold a cigarette packette without cigarettes in it. It's quite easy! And great matchbox, too! Hahaha anyway nice documentary I liked it it was great!

  • All of Satoshi's models are so complex T_T wish I had his book so I could attempt and most likely fail on divine dragon lol.

  • zomg satoshi kamiya with his ryujin :X lolz he doesnt know that much english i guess xD

  • He made an effort, which I think should be admired!

  • hey sara do you know there to find the diagrams of the butterfly in the end of your great vid?

  • Try w w w . itsjustabitofpaper . co . uk

Diagrams -> "Flapping Butterfly" by Lerlin Woodrow

  • im gonna need 3 thousand pieces of paper to make a dragon

  • you can RIP IT IN HALF,PUT IT BACK TOGETHER, and it still works

  • that was bloody brilliant X3

  • Excellent video and very well presented.

Have you ever met Vincent Floderer? He is one of my favourite origamists. He has a couple of videos on youtube too.

  • No, I haven't had the pleasure. What's his user name here?

  • 'mbjb' and 'vincentfloderer'

  • This video is amazing, one because I grew up "admiring" these people, most with their own published books, and two I'm able to put a face to them.

Lang is my favorite as well. I wish Momotani was still alive; his creations were out of this world.

  • wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow

  • Wooow!!

There are many masters, including my favourite origamist, Satoshi Kamiya and Robert Lang! Thanks for the video!

  • :O dang u got to see satoshi kamiya lol i wana learn how to make the ancient dragon :P so badly

  • Wow.. Sara, what a great video!! I am in awe. The models, what creativity.. Beautiful works of art. And the folders, Brill and Lang, and Joisel, I mean... wow. Thank you for sharing this experience with us. And now, I'm going to look for an equivalent of the BOS in Canada! ;-)

  • Pacific Coast OrigamiUSA Conference , Nov. 8-12, 2007 . To be held at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver in Vancouver BC. Special guest will be Eric Joisel from France . ;<]

  • 1:0 for gordi. amaza888 - will you be going? :)

  • Bummer. I'm a good couple of hours away from Vancouver, I'm in Montreal... :-( But hey, maybe next year! Many thanks for the info though! ;-)

  • WOW !! Been crossing my fingers all week, hoping that you could go to the BOS 40th ! Terrific video , thank you so much for giving us a peek into the event ! What amazing models there ! Really glad that you were able to meet the " masters", and equally glad that they were able to meet YOU ! Hope that you handed out cards to your YouTube site ! Overall, hope that you had a great time ! Thanks again ! ;<]

  • Had it not been for you, I'd probably not have gone. So thanks again for telling me about the convention. And hey: I'm a BOS member now, learned a couple of new models, bought expensive paper, and... hmmm, I think I'll have to do a quick vlog entry about the convention.

  • omg, you are lucky sara. Was montroll there?

  • No, unfortunately not. Maybe next time. :)

  • aww. i would really like to hear what he would have to say about origami, cause I'm writing an essay about him:)

  • oohhh pretty models

  • Understatement of the year. :)
