wow old post...it needs a chevy v8 because its a much more potent engine for a fraction of the cost. not to mention they actually last for 200,000k unlike this hopped up 6. the v8 is just as light as this motor and creates waaay more torque and hp in stock form. i think they built a good platform its just missing the powerplant it deserves.
A huge chunk of their appeal is the fact that every component is British. When Rover was sold to BMW in the 90s they stopped using the Rover engine temporarily because Peter Wheeler saw it as a German made engine. (And yes I do know Buick scrapped the engine in the first place). Also this car produces 97bhp per litre and lets take the LS7 V8 as an example which produces less bhp per litre than a diesel powered Kia Rio - do the maths if you must.
..xmuzzx, why would you want to put an american V8 in there, when the English are more than capable of putting a V8 in? Atleast european cars can handle big HP and can go round corners!! Unlike yank cars that handle like trifle on a track!! Twat!!
Really? The V8 Tuscans (1967) came with 289 out of a Ford Mustang. The 289 is small and light, so it was perfect for the Tuscan. A Ford 302 with aluminum heads would be a perfect upgrade. It would weigh less than a V6 from that era.
I like the way it has a similar exhaust system to the sagaris with the pipes. dont really like standard Tuscans too much but love the S version. Mainly for the looks above the speed
that's BMW M3. called 'tvr tuscan'

This is the Internet. You can look it up on Wikipedia or any other (mostly) reliable source. There really is no excuse for being ignorant these days.
