I personally found it very frustrating and annoying when it split my video into several clips. I prefer to split my video manually. The only way I was able to paste my video without it splitting into several clips was to drag the video from my desktop onto Windows Movie Maker.

The thing I don't understand is the flickering. The whole time I was using WMM2.6, the timeline etc. kept flickering. I'm using a Windows 7 PC. Other than that, everything works the same as the Vista version of WMM.

@nouaremyonly, You can already do that. You may have clicked on the wrong link. There's a link for Windows Movie Maker which says Vista, but it's for Windows 7 as well, then there's a version for Windows XP. This type of program is meant even for the simplicity of Windows XP. So you should be able to download it.

@nouaremyonly u'll need to use a video converter to use it on windows movie maker. Try AVS Converter to convert to Windows Media Player (.wmv) and then it should work

i tried importing a video and this message came up The file C:\Users\Public\Videos\Sample Videos\Wildlife.wmv cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.

@thetdiprincecamps it was and still does do stuff like that to me.. just don't click different things very fast and if it does happen click cntrl-alt-delete and pull up the task manager and click movie maker and 'end task'. For me personally, it asks if i want to save it so I can just pull it right back up afterward.
