I've seen Dano play for years and the guy is just a sick guitar player! I seen him jump into the crowd and keep playing on his back with people holding him above their head without missing a beat. I did not get to see this competition though.

he's great, but i don't think the acoustic cost him. he was not the best blues player there. as good as he is, rock is more his genre :)

I agree!!! He should have won. Check out his website for more music and videos!! Yes, he is a Rock Player but blues sounds much better with a little rock in it otherwise it can be a bit boring!!!

but remember that authenticity was one of the judging criteria. it sounds like you are a fan of his,great player, he deserves it, i was an unbiased attendee at the concert,and i don't think the best blues player won,but i don't think dan was the best blues player that night. . it is a tremengous feat just to get that far beating out 1500 or so guitar players in his region. remember the judging comes down to who the judges prefer on that particular night.

josh gooch. imnsho. kirby was good too. roosevelt was good, but he couldn't play acoustic. they were all good players with the exeption of the whitford kid. he just got

ughm bare assed. :)

I agree - I had to compete against that kid at the Store Finals level. To me, he was heads and shoulders above everyone, and I have been playing for 18 years. He nails the notes giving them a vocal quality, has a unique style, and doesn't mess up. But at least he is sponsored by Fuchs Amps and seems to tour professionally, so I am not crying for him, even though he was probably robbed.

dan is a great player,but i think he did get beat fairly this time. he's a better rock player,and he even said so.
