  • Mclaren is one of my favorite ministers but he does take some license at times. I say that smilingly because I don't really have a problem with it.

  • oh i thought shift was a religious organization, now I know

  • You dont even need a bible to go to these churches

  • So. Whats your point?

  • Interesting what he does with his hands at 00:53 - 1:00...

  • If we are to end the 'social gospel', why don't you go get killed to enter the kingdom of God? Why donate to charities if the world is coming to an end? Why not pollute the earth?

Er, any of you 'Christians' heard of a Book called the Bible? Its got a little book called JAMES. Try educating yourself on it.

  • Christians are not any better at ending extreme poverty or stopping global-warming than anyone else. That's a job for the Kingdom of Man, in which we, Christians, participate in. The Epistle of James is speaking of sanctification and our outward witness to the world: we must strive to be blameless in the eyes of the world, so we can talk about the Kingdom of God to come, through the preaching of the Gospel - ie, Christ crucified - together with the command to repent and believe.

  • people who say that mclaren denies the gospel should watch this...he clearly says that the social gospel AND the personal gospel should go hand in hand. "the message of the kingdom is not just a message of what happens when we die it's a message of how we live here on earth"

  • @bigtakeshi the problem isn't in this particular video, its in the overall teachings of the emergent church, a little leaven leavens the whole bunch, mixing a little truth with an abundance of lies, they are not for Jesus or you, they have an agenda, the new world order, follow Jesus, read the Bible, test the spirits of these teachings, and you will see their errors..1 John 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God

  • The Church needs to stop listening to emergent heretics like Brian McLaren and get back to God's word and stop watering down the message fo salvation and end the social(ist) gospel that the likes McLaren, Rob Bell, Tony Campolo, Greg Boyd, et al are spreading.

  • agreed.

  • YOU need to reread Matthew 25:31-46. Then tell me Christ's gospel isn't a social one.

  • I was just thinking the opposite. I think the Church needs to start listening to people like McLaren, Bell and Campolo. They proclaim a gospel message that is true to the Bible and the Kingdom of God (which is on earth, just as it is in Heaven).

  • It´s time for the church to repent, re-read the good news and ask one thing: How can we start making God's kingdom a reality here in earth?
